My family has had Charlie do our automotive work for over 15 years. He works on all makes. Prices are fair and much less than a stealership. He is friendly and cares about customers and cares about doing work the right way. Yes, you will read about how long it may take for your repair but when you’re busy because you treat customers right that becomes a plus! When my in-law parents became elderly he would drop of the auto when he was done. They lived real close by but that’s who Charlie is. He cares about you.
Highly recommend Charlie, he fixed my Volkswagen Tiguan in just a few days when. I was out of town . Also he doesn't break your checkbook like alot these places around here . Rest assured I will continue to take my vehicles to him .
I live in Ohio and my daughter's car, who is in college in SC, would not stay running, I called several repair shops who wanted me to tow it to them and then would scan it for a cost and provide a quote for repair. Mitchell's Automotive Repair went out of his way to check and see if he could repair the issue without an upfront cost. Took the time to troubleshoot and fix the problem and charged less than what an initial scan to determine the problem would have cost. I will be moving to the area and very glad to have found an honest person to bring my cars when needing service. Thanks again, Charlie for your quick response and great service in your busy schedule.

This review is long overdue. In spring of 2019, my family took a 1500 mile road trip with Atlanta as our destination. Around the Greenville area, our 1985 VW Vanagon showed signs of radiator issues and overheating. After pulling over in downtown Greenville on Easter Sunday, we were resigned to the idea that our trip would need to be cut short. As if on cue, a family dressed in their best walked past us and our open engine bay, then turned around. They asked if we were ok, and after hearing our story, a Mr. Greg Collins asked if we could all pray over the van. This was not what we were expecting, and we solemnly agreed. After his words, he passed along the information for Charlie Mitchell, who he said would prove helpful if I could find my way to him. Greg went on his way and I called Charlie, aware that I could be disturbing a man’s Easter holiday. The next morning, Charlie called back and I was able to limp our van to his shop. Charlie was a master…he took his time addressing our problems, and I still don’t think I thanked him and his wife enough for their support and kindness.
We made it to Atlanta that trip, and enjoyed a great time in the van. My family and I still speak of Mr. Collins and of Charlie’s expert work. This is a person you can trust.
Charlie took great care of my 2017 VW Alltrack and saved me thousands of dollars on my car repair. He took my car on very short notice and was able to get everything ordered and fixed very quickly. Great service and a great guy!
I have tried to take my VW Dunebuggy in for repair for the last four months. Everytime I go there it has been a total waste of time. I always get put off for another month. Thank you so much Charlie for rewarding me for wanting to use your services but continually putting me off! I wanted to use your services but your sir are not dependable and your shop is a mess and disorganized. If you want to keep your sanity go elsewhere for VW services.
What a find! Charlie got me on the road in record time, spent extra time tracking down mystery electrical issues and fixed all my gremlins for a very (very) reasonable price. Love thia guy!!!

Charlie Mitchell is a gifted and intelligent mechanic. I've never brought him a problem he couldn't solve! When he investigates, check engine lights stay off!
I won't bring my cars any where else! Honest, dependable and talented. BMW charged me four times the amount for the same service and I found out the "new" part I paid for wasn't new! No wonder why it gave out again!
I recently used Charlie to repair my 2010 VW Jetta. I live in a nearby neighborhood and always saw this place and the VW's parked outside. I had also heard that he was the best around. When I blew my timing chain, Charlie came to my house and diagnosed it with me. He then brought a wrecker and towed the car to his shop. He did all of the repairs and changed a few other things while the engine was taken apart. I got the car back and it has run perfectly ever since. He did it for a very reasonable price, which I know would have cost must more at a dealership. I definitely recommend Charlie for any work that you need done, especially if you drive a VW.
Charlie is Great. Goes the extra mile for you. Excellent work and honest pricing. Does not hold your car ransom beyond the date he says the car will be ready. IMO, a great deal of integrity and tells you the truth. Being disabled, he drove me home when I dropped the car off and picked me up when it was ready. That is the type of guy he is. Does not nickle and dime you to death. Highly, highly recommend.

If you own a Vanagon (or any other VW or Audi for that matter...) and want it to stay healthy, do not let anyone but Charlie touch it. I have been with him for over 20 years and highly recommend him. You may have to get in line, but he will make it right!
Mr. Charlie Mitchell has been repairing my Volkswagens for close to 20 years, and he is on all accounts the best mechanic I've ever met. He is reliable and trustworthy and he knows his cars. My '84 Golf ran for 20 yrs thanks to Charlie - I now have a 14 yr old Jetta and again, thanks to Charlie, it is running beautifully. He charges a fair price and you can depend on his work. I highly recommend Mitchell Automotive!
Without a doubt the best mechanic I have ever dealt with. Fast, honest, and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend him for any VW or other problem you may have, even if you have to tow the car a little further to get it there.
