This shop is nothing short of excellence. I had my truck at another shop for about 10 days. They were giving me the runaround could be this could be that could be blah blah blah drop it off at Tom Sawyer. They had it for 1.5 days. That’s it. Diagnose the issue and fix it all was done while they were super busy. Absolutely excellent mechanics excellent Front Office love them love the communication. They’re great. This just goes to show me that you should honestly wait until your preferred mechanic is available. I did not do that and it cost me extra time and money. I won’t do that again and you should think twice about it too.

Best mechanics in PA! I’ve gone to many mechanics and they are by far the best. I drive from Germantown just for their services. They give fair prices, talk you through what needs to be done and what can wait if you are on a budget. I will come here for as long as I live in PA!

Great work at a fair place. They don't take advantage of women at all. They explain things upfront and let you know your options. Also, the staff are very friendly and pleasant to interact with.

This past Tuesday I was fueling my car at the Giant gas station right next door to this place. My battery died when I tried to start to leave. I walked over and explained my situation. Even though I could tell that they were very busy, they took care of me immediately as though I were a steady customer. When a jumpstart failed, they had the appropriate battery to fit my car. From start to finish, they had me on my way in 45 minutes. Rather amazing considering the situation and how busy they were. I am forever grateful and if I lived closer I would surely be a steady customer!

The only mechanic I trust for my cars and those of my children. Courteous and kind employees and knowledgeable mechanics make every repair and maintenance visit easier on me. They don't rip you off and try to get the work done as soon as possible even when you show up without an appointment. I have been a faithful customer for about 10 years now and I have no desire to go elsewhere.

Always friendly and professional. Tom Sawyer has to be the most honest mechanics in Pennsylvania. If they can't fix it it can't be fixed. Unbelievable fair charging/ pricing too.

I absolutely ADORE Tom Sawyer’s. My family has been using this auto shop since as far back as I can remember. Everyone from Mary Jane to Dave and the whole crew are extremely nice and treat you like family. I don’t trust anyone else with my car! Prices are fair and everyone is very knowledgeable. Tom Sawyers is by far the only mechanic I will trust in the area. They always give fair prices and do an excellent job! The mechanic I was going to before gave me faulty parts (on purpose, I’m assuming) and overcharged me. Ever since going to Tom Sawyers, they’ve kept my 2006 Honda Civic running brand new with only a few minor fixes over the past 2 years. They communicate well and explain to you what’s going on and what they’re going to do to fix it!

Got me in and out right away and I made my appointment the day of! They are so nice and honest. 10/10 definitely recommend Tom Sawyer.

I brought my 2002 Audi A6 in, the mechanic George was about to look through my car carefully fix my coolant system and was able to get my car running again. Definitely worth coming back and definitely fair priced.

Will forever be my mechanic of choice. A great, experienced shop with the most friendly staff you could hope to have on your side when your car is giving you issues. Just today, had a bad wheel bearing after an incident in yesterday's snow, and they had me in and out in no time. 5 Stars doesn't do them justice.

If you are looking for an honest and reasonably priced mechanic, this is no longer the place. Tom Sawyer no longer owns or works at Tom Sawyer Auto Repair. The new owner no longer runs the honest, reliable, and reasonably-priced place is used to be when Tom himself was there. For many years, I was a devoted customer of Tom Sawyer Auto Repair. We always took all of our family’s cars, and recommended him to all of our friends. As other reviewers concur, Tom was an excellent mechanic, reliable, honest, and the shop was run impeccably by him personally and his lovely family. That all changed recently when Tom sold his business to another mechanic. The new owner uses Tom’s reputation and customers, but the place now overcharges and incorrectly diagnoses problems. We began suspecting this change in business practices over the last few months, when we noted we were significantly overcharged and were pressed to pay for unnecessary procedures. The bottom line came recently, when I took my daughter’s car to Tom Sawyer Auto because of a persistent humming noise in one wheel. The mechanic stated that the sub frame and front control arm needed replacement with an estimate of $875.00. As the days went by, the estimate kept increasing and no word on when the repair would be completed. To my surprise, after a week and a half, I received a call stating that, in addition, the bearings assembly had to be replaced, because it was all corroded. What he did not know is that two weeks earlier, my daughter had already replaced the bearings at another shop! Can they truly corrode in just two weeks? We were pressed to replace them again. This is not the end of the story: When we received the car back, we noticed that the odometer reading was many miles higher than when we had left the car at the shop; many more than for a short test drive. This means that car was driven extensively without our authorization, and without our knowledge, something I consider an abuse. We have decided to stop using Tom Sawyer Auto Repair.

My first visit there today and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone was terrific! I am so pleased with their professionalism, kindness and their great work ethic; they seem to live by. I met many of their customers today and honestly it felt like one happy family!

I own nissan altima and i purchased and replace a new alternator (from Adv auto parts) with another auto shop near hatboro and it went bad.I opted to go Tom Sawyer this time and i was asked to leave the car at the shop and he was curious to know the mechanic that i have used last time. When they gave a quote on the phone they have told me the price ($300+) and mentioned the charge is excluding the core unit. And since i have a core unit in the car, i was told i will get a separate charge for that. When i went to the shop to pick up my car, the core was already taken and i have got a rude response from a mechanic that you don't need to worry about that and the core is for us. I ended up paying $300+. I call that as a lie and won't come back to you again. I went online and checked for the same unit they replaced and core price is $75.

Tom Sawyer Auto is best! I have been bringing my car to them for service over 2 years. They always finish the work quickly and great, plus they charge you at a very reasonable price, usually chapter than other dealership or repair shop. I once had a problem which the dealer quoted over $1300 and could not guarantee to fix it, and Tom Sawyer just fix it within a few hours and ask for less than $100. They are very honest, reliable and professional, and always treat customers with respect . I would highly recommend Tom Sawyer Auto!

Tom Sawyer auto is too fabulous for me to tell it all here. They are fantastic. Reliable, trustworthy and they care about my car as much as I do (maybe more). You usually need an appointment but that's only because they are that good!

I have been with Dave Sippel (the new owner) for over 5 yrs now in 2 different locations. I would never take my car anywhere else. He personally looks over each car that leave the shop. He is honest, reliable and works great with the team at Tom Sawyer's, who are just as great.
