Shout out to Scottie for professional, courteous service for a tow from Castle Creek, NY to Syracuse at 1:00 AM in the morning in foggy, rainy awful conditions. Coming up 81 from southern PA at 9:00 PM for a family emergency, we hit a pothole and blew a tire and then the doughnut failed. After calling MULTIPLE companies, we got thru to CNY Towing &Recovery. His arrival to pick us up was ecstatic! He was prompt, courteous and considerate the whole hour and a half drive. This company really put the other tow services to shame. Grateful beyond words for their consideration to take us in the first place.
Craig and Nick were awesome, very informative, and very professional. I would definitely recommend them, and I will use their services from here on out when needed. Thank you-you two.

Poor Customer Service here. Personally after how they answered the phone till they hung up was unprofessional and I would strongly NOT recommend this place. I called to ask for a fuel service because I'm sitting on 81 north mile marker 47.2 because dummy me ran out of fuel. Total accident but nonetheless this company surprised me with how they treated a potential customer. Picks up the phone and ask "what I needed" and was rushing by the sounds of it. Told him just need a fuel service and where I was and I was only 7 miles from shop from where I was sitting. He pauses and says "Well hmmm ummm why don't you just call quickie towing or whatever. I'm busy bub and I gotta let you go ok bye" and hangs up on me. Totally shocked me with the service I got on the phone. Might as well call the other guys in town because there is a few of them and not bother these guy's here at CNY Towing and Recovering. You'll get a rude surprise and not get helped at all like myself.
Has a flat on I81 with no spare on a Sunday afternoon. Tried AAA but none of their affiliated towing services were open. Called these guys, and Scott appeared within 25 minutes and towed us to Mavis tires in Cortland who promptly replaced our tire. Scott called ahead to give them the tire details, saving us some time. First class service. I hope I don’t need them again, but I know who to call now.
Just scams. They never mentioned anything about paying to leave my car next to the shop out of the way until a windshield was replaced. Now I'm missing weeks worth of work because they want me to pay over $2,000 in storage fees. They say I can't take my car until it's paid but I can't make money until I get my car. They just care about money and will do whatever it takes to get it.
The service was quick. The only issue I had was I asked the man on the phone if I could pay by credit card over the phone. He said that was fine and to give it to the driver when he calls to say car is delivered. But then, when the car was dropped off, the driver insisted I go in person with my card and I couldn't call it in. I had to get an uber to pay bill then an uber back. From ithaca to cortland and back. Was not happy about being told one thing and expected to do another. If I had a car I could drive, I wouldn't need a tow truck.....💁♀️
Scammers. Quote one price, then charge over 5k more than the original quote. Cut straps on a load, without permission even though DOT said load was fine. Then charged to use his straps and to reload the truck. Scammer. Be careful
My car broke down 6.7 miles from home. I decided to call for a tow and when I searched this company came up. I decided to give them a try. Wait time was not too bad. But as soon as I was asked if I was paying cash or card I knew there would be an issue by the response I got by the driver. My tow wasn't a hard one. I TRIED to make it easy for the driver. I even drove my car up the driveway. The car was dropped in front of my house. Then I asked the total. He said he was waiting for his boss. Went back to his truck then said 175. I decided to pay him in cash because I didn't have to pay tax. (WHAT THE DRIVER SAID) I didn't have change and gave him 180. The look on his face when I gave it to him bothered me. So the next morning I called and spoke with the owner I do believe. He told me he would check in to it and call me back. We'll it was later that night when I received a call back. He told me I should have been charged 125. And took my address. I told him I understand how a business is run and you guys need ro make money too. He insisted on refunding my 50. I have received nothing. I have emailed 2 times and no response. I'm a single mother trying to survive. I even gave an extra 5 which isn't much but it isn't about the money. I can't even get a response from anyone. I will not use this service ever again. And you should think twice about using them too.
The Price was very expensive for me, when my vehicle needed roadside assistance, it was $1500 from Page Green Road to CNY and the distance was about 8 miles. They sent two trucks.
I don't know if this is a normal price, but it was too expensive for me. After asking others, the price for a tow truck from Syracuse to Florida was about $1100.
When I asked the owner if he could provide details of the $1500 so that I can explain to others at the end, he refused to explain and threatened me.
Follow up:
After several months, the CNY towing still refused to discuss with me. They did not accept my call and did not give any call to discuss about the details.
Just called to ask for an estimate on help with my car. My friend did me the favor to call and I don’t know what kind of sad people work here but this guy response was to call my friend a “moron” when we were trying to figure out where the car got stuck since we are in an area we don’t know. These are a bunch of unprofessional people no wonder they have 3 star review on their website it’s for a reason! Avoid these disrespectful people. I wanted to call back and call them that but I was not going to stick to their level.
I had one of my worse days today but thanks to CNY towing who made my day at least great. These guys so far is doing a great job. Thank you guys you really helping so far. Wishing you great luck in your business
Friendly, professional, and definitely someone you can trust. Craig did a very thorough buyers check for us on a RV motorhome we were considering purchasing. After we purchased the vehicle, he went through every system, got it completely ready for us, and delivered it to us in Ithaca. Fantastic service at an affordable price.
