I don’t usually write reviews unless I have an extraordinary experience. In this case, it was extraordinarily bad. I bought a can of spray paint here and when I got home to use it, the nozzle didn’t work properly and the paint came out extremely glossy. I’ve used this particular paint many, many times in the past, so I know it’s supposed to be matte.
I brought it in to swap it out with another one. The guy I spoke with at the counter was helpful, but the manager told me it worked fine and was almost empty. Even though I had literally bought it the night before and had used it for less than ten seconds. I wasn’t given a receipt when I bought it, so the guy said he wasn’t going to do anything
It’s partially on me for not asking for a receipt after he didn’t give me one, but this was clearly a defective product and the manager made it seem like I was trying to get something for free.
Sunday morning my truck wouldn’t start. Jumped it and went to get the battery tested. Charlie tested and said it’s time for a new one. He quickly found the correct battery. I paid for it and within a minute he’s ready to change it. Took him about 5 mins and I was good to go. Thank you Charlie.
Never go here for a battery test. I was curious if I had a bad battery so I asked the dude at the front desk to do a battery test. He told me I have a bad battery and tried selling me one. I was about to buy one from AAA, before replacing it they tested my battery and said that my battery is perfectly fine and has no issues.
I had an outstanding experience at Advance Auto Parts thanks to Dane. From the moment I walked in, he was unbelievably pleasant and eager to help. It was immediately clear that customer service is something he truly takes pride in. Had a very stuck brake line didn’t want to break it. One of the knowledgeable staff told me to use a crayon and heat up the connection. Very good advice thanks.
Visited Advance Auto Parts to purchase GumOut and other products to rehabilitate a riding mower. Returned the next day for 2 feet of fuel line to drain the gas tank. Sales Rep was busy, but very helpful.
I usually don't stop at these places, I always feel intimidated - motors aren't my forte. But I will say, I did stop the other day, thought I would grab some transmission fluid to top off. The gentleman behind the counter was as nice as they come- he helped me find what type I needed. I bought it and headed out to the car. Wasn't sure where I was to put it, so once again the guy behind the counter came out to help, he wasn't sure either, so 2 more peeps came out to help. Long story short, I couldn't use the fluid, because apparently I would need a type of key to get to the reservoir... Ugh. Anyway they did allow me to return the fluid. And now I know, there's no reason to feel intimidated - these peeps knew their job and were more than happy to help me. Thank you. I highly recommend this place.
fast, knowledgeable and smart- this is a no nonsense great franchise that'll get you back on the road fast. Their knowledge is so great that I will avoid similar shops closer to my home and head here.
Item in stock, however it was in a random tote. The clerk shrugged his shoulders. Customer service 101 - at least make customers feel like they made a good choice by walking into their business.
I recently went for a new battery and some misc items.
One of their associates took the time to explain to me that I may not need a new battery but may have some wiring issues. It would have been easy to point me in the direction of the batteries and just took my money. Instead, I left spending less money and gaining some useful knowledge. He was right. I didnt need a new battery. Trucks up and running (knock on wood). Thank you
This store recently put LED lighting in for the parking lot, however it is aimed sideways not down causing terrible glare for the traffic on nearby streets and excessive light pollution. While the store is a reasonable place to buy auto parts, I will be boycotting until the lighting is corrected.
I like it here. Nice place, the staff behind the counter were really good to me. I placed an online order that was ready when I came to pick it up. Other times, the staff has been more then helpful with helping me find the right part.
Extremely poor service, no knowledge of parts or how to look them up, rude, threw my change back at me, going to contact main office to complain, have been there for numerous parts, and always seem to have to return for the correct parts.

Good selection of on hand parts when you need a part now and can't wait. You will always get the same part much cheaper online but sometimes you can't wait a day or two for it to come in the mail and that is where advanced Auto come in. Employees are usually friendly, not always the most knowledgeable but as long as you know the make and model of your car and what you need the computer will do the rest for them. I would take any test results with a grain of salt when it comes to battery/alternator/sparkplug testing. I have had the tests come back fine just to have a weak battery die a week later or coil packs that tested as working turn out to be my problem after they were replaced.
Very friendly and accommodating. I came in for a replacement bulbs for my fiance's headlights and got what I needed with no problem.
Unfortunately I also left my phone behind. The staff hung onto it for me. Thanks!
Manager is unprofessional and totally disrespectful. I originally went to the Hoosick st location and they were super nice and helpful even though they didn't have the oil filter I needed. They informed me if I went to Pawling ave they had the filter in stock and would honor the discount they were currently offering. When I arrived the manager rang up what I needed it seemed pretty high so I asked about the discount. He then informed me hoosick st AA doesn't take down their signs and that he could not apply it to my purchase. Continueing on with his rude misdemeanor he raised his hand to a felow coworker as she was politely trying to explain their discount policies. Aggravated by how he had been treating his coworkers and I, I asked him to not disrespect he as she was only trying to help. He then started to talk back with profanity.. telling me how I shouldn't tell him how to handle his employees. Bc this experience was so off putting and unprofessional, I will not do business here again unfortunately.
The staff here is 9 times out of 10 very helpful and friendly. When you ask which light you need for your vehicle they don't just look it up and tell you, they look it up and then walk to the aisle and show you. Better than most places in this niche. Quick shipping if they don't have the item in stock.
Not a great selection and some of the staff aren't knowledgeable.... You better know exactly what you need because, all they are good for is a price and availability check... Most of the time you have to have your part ordered...
