Best service i've had in Mahopac hands down. I needed 4 tires swapped on my WRX, I went to another shop first and what a mistake, they had 4 guys try for an entire day just to tell me they couldn't mount the tires on my aftermarket wheels. I call here they ask me to show up at my earliest convenience and they get the job done right away, professionally, with zero problems and very fair pricing. Definitely give them a try.
Wish I had found this place sooner. My car had no heat, so I called them up after discovering them on google and they were able to see my vehicle the same day. My car ended up needing a new heater core which was not in the cards for me, so they did everything else they could to get me some type of heat. Price ended up being better than what I had calculated so I was pleasantly surprised and they explained everything in detail. If I end up wanting to do that job in the future, will definitely be going there to do it.
Both owners of this shop helped us out a lot! They patiently replaced our drive belt and power steering pump four times (due to unfortunately defective parts from NAPA/Autozone), went the extra mile and stayed after hours, and were very communicative and transparent throughout the whole process. We have never experienced customer service as good as this before!

Don’t waste your time going to any other repair shop in the area. Mahopac auto repair should be your first and last stop. They have taken care of issues on my car multiple times, incredibly fast, and at good pricing for the work done. They are just good, honest mechanics who do great work. I would highly recommend them 10/10 times.
I Stopped by as a new customer at Mahopac Auto Repair, very impressed with everything, from being attentive and honest to having a clean and organized business. I was looking to repair my muffler and exhaust, and was not expecting same day service. They took a look at my exhaust and informed me they could weld the exhaust pipe while I waited. They did an excellent clean job and I am very satisfied with their work!! They are reasonably priced and I will go back for any repairs. Thank you to the entire crew there, keep up the great work!!

If you are looking for professional and friendly service Mahopac Auto Repair is the place for you. I have a 12-year-old Mitsubishi Outlander Sport that I have been taking to the same dealer where I purchased the car for years. A couple of weeks ago, I ran into a start failure issue. This was an intermittent issue which only occurred occasionally, still something I wanted addressed. When I took the car to the dealer, they held my car for three days saying they were “testing it.” However, allegedly could duplicate the issue and figure out the root of the problem. The dealer finally insisted the issue was a sensor that would cost over $2500 to replace. I said absolutely not and requested they give me back my car so I could get a second opinion. When Sterling inspected the car, he immediately identified the issue as the alternator which ultimately drained the battery causing the start failure. The parts have since been replaced and the car is running like a dream. Thank you so much Mahopac Auto Repair for your honesty and help. It is truly refreshing, appreciated, and the money you have saved me is a blessing!!!
The owner Starling is caring and compassionate he has been working on my fleet for my company for quite some time now he is Family now. Been looking for a reliable and trust worthy mechanic shop up in Putnam for two years. Went to the shop the other day, wasn't told to come back later like most shops, Santiago came out and instantly took a look at the car. Once he diagnosed the problem, he brought me in and showed me what needed to be changed. This was after a second opinion from another shop that wanted me to do upper and lower control arms and struts for both sides, Santiago explained all I need is the upper control arm. Great shop, look forward to more service in the future.
Great prices and very honest. I went to others and they suggested I replace the whole muffler system. They knew what to do to stop the noise without having to spend a fortune. Won't go anywhere else for car repairs going forward.

Hospitality is great along side the quick professional work with thorough communication throughout the process. I ran across this mechanic when I first moved mahopac and they have been a blessing. I had major issues with my Subaru Outback and they repaired every problem, kept me informed of all the issues that the vehicle had and always asked for how I wanted to proceed. Very profesional, friendly and conscious of costs. Highly recommend these guys without any reservations.
Stopped in as recommended by my friend and was very impressed! Had nothing major done, but first thing you notice is the shop is super clean. And this tells more than you need to know, because it says they care about what environment they work in, it makes for efficient work, and a safe work area. If they care about that, then you know they care about your vehicles. Was greeted most friendly and received service with a smile!

Often times trying to find An honest and reliable mechanic is difficult. If this is a concern that you have I recommend that you bring your car to Mahopac Auto. They are extremely professional , honest and reasonable. I have taken three of our cars there for service. Thats not counting my mother in law, my niece and brother in laws car. I usually read people's reviews when i make a purchase. I'd figured i pay it forward for anyone looking for a reliable mechanic.
