I am going to be honest. They messed up both times I have been there in terms of waiting an hour for them to touch my car after my appointment time. Also, I can in for tire installs and there was a nail sticking out of it almost immediately. BUT!!! They have made of for there mistakes and got me going both times. Not good, not bad.
They should really modernize the lobby. Add a TV and a real sitting area with a dedicated office clerk, you might have a solid institution there.
Extremely disrespectful man who reminds everyone he’s assistant manager but doesn’t have respect for his job or other employees. Yesterday 2/13 he was yelling and swearing about how no one knows how to do anything except him and was telling the other man to get out of the shop and go order parts. Riding a snowmobile into the shop instead of working on customers cars that are there for repair because “they can wait” seemed he had something else he wanted to get done so he was yelling at the other man about not having any time off to “have a life”. Also always seems to be yelling and complaining about other business that have their vehicles there to be worked on. As someone who introduces themselves as assistant manager maybe he should learn some morals and respect. I’d be ashamed to have an employee running my business that acts like him.
We were on the 1st morning of a two day trip to the south for the holiday with the Grands. My husband hit a piece of metal on Rt 88 just before the Oneonta exit. Tire pressure light came on in time for him to make the exit. When the tire started to deflate (again) after adding air, we headed to Mr Tire that was actually in 'seeing distance' from the gas station with the compressed air. Mr Tire Manager was wonderful, said he'd get the car in as soon as the next bay was cleared, and he did. They plugged the tire, and we were on our way in just about a half an hour. Best scenario for an inconvenient event.

We went in because our tire pressure was low and the person who was doing our inspection on the tire quite literally completely lied about what was wrong with our tire. We went and got a second opinion and the person confirmed that he was lying. I would just proceed with caution.
I've been going here for years...I've told everyone i know to go here...I recently had an appointment for an inspection..as soon as I walked in I got the feeling this guy was in a "mood"...they put my truck on the lift and he comes back out to me and say he cant pass it because I've got "dry rot". So I said show me please...so we walk in there and he pulls out his flashlight and proceeds to look for this dry rot...he stops on an area and says "right here"...there was NOTHING THERE..so i said "back my truck out and give me my keys im not playing this game"..i already knew where this was going...I have good year wrangler tires on my truck and they're fairly new I cant find dry rot anywhere on them...his other gripe was my intake boot..it wasn't fully seated (which was my fault) and he said it had oil in it...which it does cause ITS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL..seems funny a place that sells tires wants to tell me my tires have dry rot...im going to post pictures of his "dry rot"...please someone else tell me there's dry rot...you know what, I already knew how this place was getting. I was warned by others that they were getting greedy..I should of listened...I get it...there a tire shop, they want to make money and doing a 20 dollar inspection doesnt cut it...but this kind of petty crap is ridiculous...this is why everyone i know leaves this city for an inspection...what he should of said was "hey man, I noticed that your tires MIGHT be starting to get dry rot. You should maybe consider purchasing new tires in the near future"...then he might of successfully sold me on some tires...but to tell me you cant pass my truck cause of my tires is absurd...my tires are NOT EVEN CLOSE to warrant failing an inspection...they dont realize what they just did...I've given them my business and EVERYONE ELSE I KNOW...and im sure they dont care cause no one does...clearly with these reviews its becoming more common...so long Mr tire...p.s...save your automated responses...its not a good look when you post the same response to every complaint..it clearly shows that you do not care...
This place was awesome ! Showed up Sunday 9am with flat tires in a blizzard and they plugged my flat for free! In and out in 35 minutes . I highly recommend!
The manager as he calls himself has zero respect for his employees. He walks into the back like he owns the place and starts degrading his employee Kris calling him names and yelling at him the shop is not sound proof and us costumers can hear what’s being said inside the garage as to why I can point out a name the boys walk around like they are on thin rope 10/10 don’t recommend unless you wanna hear employees being degraded and a swear word coming out of the managers mouth every other word.
I had a terrible experience and will never be going back there. I wasn’t aware that with the oil change, they rotate your tires, which wouldn’t have been a problem if they had tightened the lug nuts back on one of my tires when they were done. As I pulled out of the parking lot and started driving down the road all of the lug nuts flew off of my tire and scattered all over the road. My car could have seriously been damaged or worse I could’ve gotten seriously injured. as soon as this happened I called them immediately and they came to put the lug nuts back on. I asked for my car to be brought back to the shop and looked over again to make sure nothing else was wrong. When I leave the second time and get out of Oneonta starting to go 55 I noticed that my hood was also not latched. I was very upset by this whole experience. There were a bunch of kids running the shop with no professionalism around.
Doesn't matter how many years you have gone there or how many sets of 4 tires you buy. When there is a new manager who has no idea who you are you get treated like a newcomer and not a loyal customer. So instead of passing my daily use car for inspection he decided my frame was too rusted, which can be repaired. So I don't need to go here anymore, too many turnovers.
Matt and the guys are great and I’ve had several good experiences but my most recent visit will probably be my last. The mark up on some products is completely absurd. Charged around $400 for something I can get for around $80 at the auto zone next door is outrageous!! That of course didn’t include labor or taxes so the bill was shockingly expensive!! This company needs to rethink its markup pricing, go to your neighborhood mechanic instead.
I had a flat tire. So I took the old tire off and i wanted to buy another tire and have it put back on the rim. I was stranded. Walmart told me they could get me an appointment in a week. I got the same run around from everyone. But mr tire when they heard i was stranded quickly helped me. I am very grateful to the people who are super helpful and kind. Great job Mr tire you have made a lifelong customer.
What a joke go there to get my car inspected and I was told couldn’t pass because of a bald tire and light out . get that fixed and go back and the same guy found something else wrong he never said anything else was wrong but then he told me if I buy a tire and get it changed he would pass it sounds to me like he’s trying to scam me because I’m female !! I would never ever recommend anyone to go there ! I would run from there especially if your females don’t go alone !!!
Mr tire owner it’s very discouraging that I did have a negative experience I think you should get a new manager there if he’s in charge because I believe he was the manger he shouldn’t say get something fix and then you get what he said was wrong why he wouldn’t pass it and then go back and he finds something else so yes I will never go back there if that guy is in charge
I I got an inspection at nine in the morning. The guy was swamped with work and lots of appointments, but he managed to get me in and out pretty quick with a completed inspection. I was very happy.
We were from out of town and had an issue with a tire We went to the Oneonta location and Kyle helped get us what we needed. We knew it was time for all 4 new tires. He gave us options and helped us decide what worked best for our situation. Again Kyle made this easy and smooth in a timely manner. My daughter attends SUNY Oneonta and this is now our goto shop up there.
I called about an hour before they closed, just shopping around for tires. They had my tire size at a reasonable prize and told me to come in right then. I got all 4 new tires done before they closed. Definitely recommend!
Got me taken care of quick as could be. Nice pooch kept me company. Guy at the desk was a little overwhelmed with everything he had to juggle there so I was a bit unsure of what was going on. He was clearly burdened by too much to do, (I mean this sincerely! He was obviously responsible for too many things at once. I don't think I would have handled things any better.) to take me by the hand and walk me through what the heck was going on. But! I'm a big boy! I'll survive. Everyone I dealt with was nice and respectful,just super busy. Overall I appreciate the quick service, even if I was a little confused
I was in town visiting my son and got a bolt in my tire. I went in they took care of me right away. My car was done and back in couple of hours. Matt was amazing and courteous. I highly recommend this place.
The new Manager Matthew is very nice, efficient and honest. I’ve been going to Mr. Tire for almost ten years, I followed Ryan there after he left the Milford Garage, then he left and came back and left, Coty took his place, he left and another Matthew took over, then Cody returned and I’ve always trusted Cody with my vehicles. He’s gone now. Matthew tried helping me with my car but no one knew anything about electrical issues. I’m going to another mechanic now
People there were kind, but they simply were supposed to fix my breaks and which the next morning the break pad was flopping around in my wheel well… they thankfully came to my place of residence and picked it up to go fix it but it was very inconvenient because I had a very important ceremony to attend that morning. Probably won’t go back there…
They didn’t call me to tell me their inspector quit THE DAY BEFORE. So I packed up my three year old and two month old and listened to her cry and scream the whole 20 minutes for the guy to say “I have a dilemma. I can’t inspect your car because the inspector quit yesterday” and I as calmly as possible said “you could’ve called.”
He proceeded to get snotty with me and say it’s not his fault and he didn’t have my number. I made the appointment the day before they 100% had my number and were just being lazy and inconsiderate. So not only did I not get my inspection done, I also got to drive 40 minutes with an INFANT for no reason and get attitude from a grown man whose fault it was entirely.
For real? This place sucks.
I happen to be in town and found a piece of sharp metal in my tire that kept slowly leaking air. They got me right in and repaired it very quickly. Very Friendly service. Highly recommend.
Stay away from these lazy guys making me wait for 1 hour to came back to we can't do the job was the end of the day. And I have make a appointment more than a week before they only want to do easy jobs on small cars I drove 1h:45 min to the place and he doesn't seem to care he only say i can't do the job my tower is too weak
Relatively easily accessible right across from the Walmart pinched in between the Budget inn and AutoZone. Plenty of tires in stock. They do have a wait time but not an unbearable amount. Pretty reasonable pricing as well. 30-day ride guarantee and brake experts on hand.
Mr Tire used to be a great repair place, since the new ownership the pricing has become insane, even worse than Monroe that they also own. I recently was quoted a price for the repair of a tie rod end, that my local mechanic did both the inner and outer tie rod ends, and replaced the two front rotors and pads on my
Truck and it was only $40 more than what Mr Tire wanted for 1 inner tie Rod with generic parts not good parts like Moog plus my mechanic gave me a lifetime warranty on the parts. Mr Tire is not only over priced, plan on spending an afternoon their because they are too cheap to have someone answer the phones and work the counter so the mechanic spends more time answering phones and waiting on customers than he has to work on your car just go someplace else they aint what they used to be
I had to get new tires. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They ordered tires quickly and got my car fixed up and out quickly. I will definitely consider them in the future when I need tires or other services done.
I had a flat tire during my trip a couple of months ago, on May 27th and it was past 6:50 pm. This was the only tire service shop within 50 miles as I was running on spare tire. I called them and the person in charge agreed to wait for me, postpone his personal plans, and helped me get back on the road.
