There is a good reason why amazon are putting places like this out of business. Multiple good reasons actually. Try a car repair project using napa as a supplier and knowledge resource, then try it one with amazon and youtube. See which one costs you more and takes longer for the parts, is more difficult to return unused parts, and provides you zero help or advice (probably even attitude) versus endless customized feedback and information.
Purchased parts online for store pickup next day which had another location as available and it wasn’t close to me so had a family member go pick it up…ended up having to buy a full kit for repair with those parts included so didn’t need it… website had a search feature of stores you can return an online order to so went to the one nearby me which was Dolson Ave Middletown NY store… my husband initially went in and came out upset that the employee refused it saying it wasn’t sold there… I went in and was told without an order number or receipt I can’t help you… I then said I don’t have a receipt but can look up the order number as it was an online order which was picked up elsewhere by my brother , but I can show you the order number which he said show me looked at it the part and I said the item number matches… he then looks away and says well he should of been given a receipt… why ask for order number look at it then change it to you just have a receipt… his demeanor seemed to be that he did not believe it was purchased from Napa… I then said so I should drive over an hour when the online confirmation will have the order details including order #…I relayed you see the online order with part # he looks at it and again said I have to have a receipt to look it up when initially saying or order number….I said I’m showing you the order number and you can’t look at my phone number on file and was told no… asked for his name and was told Anthony… it was obvious he assumed we did not purchase the items at Napa and then tried to back track… I have never had a hard time returning at any napa store … beyond ridiculous…. Napa do better at this point I will never use Napa again if your employees are so rude and refuse to make a whopping $45 return …. It was clear he assumed we didn’t buy it as the item has odd packaging but once he saw the name and number matched should of been good enough… very stern faced, unwelcoming and looked like he could care less attitude…. If he doesn’t like his job he should find another because that’s the attitude I got…don’t make assumptions based off of whatever perception you had initially and own you made a mistake initially saying it wasn’t bought there then doubling down refusing to help with the return… other stores have found my purchase simply by entering my phone number it’s clear Anthony didn’t want to after being proved incorrect it wasn’t sold there and doubled down instead of apologizing and or trying to look it up… telling me they are a different store yet napa has this one listed online as taking online returns… once again Anthony needs to do his job and not make assumptions and at least attempt to help instead of just I can’t look it up and refusing to even try to use my phone number which has been done elsewhere … yet he couldn’t even take 30 seconds to try because he already decided at the beginning he wasn’t taking it that we hadn’t bought it at Napa…
Just went to Middletown napa with a hydraulic hose looking for fittings was told that there not in order and I cannot be helped . No offer to even try to help me there was no customers in the store . Absolutely ridiculous . I needed other parts but went elsewhere because the employee on shift didn't seem to want to work
Watch those prices! They might have it, but they might also be charging 2x what others are. Tried to charge me $30+ for a quart of gear oil! Walked out and ordered it directly from the manufacturer for literally half the price! Convenience isn't worth THAT much!
I'm a truck driver and I was stuck on the side of the road in Slate Hill NY for frozen airbrake lines. I called other big box auto parts stores nearby to deliver me some airbrake antifreeze. All said no. NAPA was the only one to deliver and did so very quickly. NAPA will be my first call from now on.
Objectively the best auto parts store to ever exist in the history of mankind. The service is unmatched, and the parts are of such a high quality that I refuse to believe they're made from materials found on earth. Shop here, or I will find you.
I recommend starting here for your parts over the bigger chains. Advanced and auto zone stock is limited and they have one of an item that should be replaced in pairs. Napa had it in stock, and they are willing to come out from behind the counter to help.
Would never go there again. Was ignored by the first parts representative, the red headed woman parts rep finally addressed me after inquiring if anyone could help me. Was given the wrong alternator meant for same make vehicle but different model car and bigger motor after calling and stating my year make and model then again telling them when I arrived. The alternator designed for the bigger motor and not for my car fried my electrical system which caused me to be without a car and almost losing my employment having to rely on taxis for two weeks which was extremely costly. Napa will you reimburse me for the over thousand dollars I spent for taxis back and forth to work to keep my employment because of your representatives mistake?
Amazing customer service. Very friendly and helpful. Staff even helped me install my serpentine belt. I was broke down and out of state. Without their help I would have been stranded. Thank you very much!
Went in looking for a ac compressor and also the right idler pulleys. I had checked all over the area and nobody had it. As soon as i called they said they could have it all first thing the next morning. Was able to go in and everything was an exact fit. The store itself has alot of items on the shelf and having knowledgeable staff helps even more. I have already gone back a few times and same exact service.
The staff is above and beyond kind of people. Very knowledgeable and help you figure out what you need. Highly recommended to anyone needing to talk cars.
