This is a bookstore, not the Pentagon. Followed from the moment I walked in and ignored when I tried asking the security guard and employees a question. Utterly disappointing as someone that has worked for B&N for 4 years and continues to pay for a yearly membership. Do better

Mudden had a book signing it was very nice the store was clean and had lots of space it was an awesome Book signing it was my first time attending one the author was awesome he kept a nice group conversation going he was sure to speak and talk to everybody making good eye contact he was very cheerful and well spoken.
I think I found the best albums on CD. Recently bought these 2 albums from one of my most listened Rap groups , and had to get them because of the discount on both of these CD’s. I also saw Kanye West albums there too , although I wish they have more of his albums on CD possibly discounted. This place is worth it and recommended!
Evil resides here. No more brick. Just white walls and basic wood and glass. The bathroom is hidden. You need a code for the bathroom. You have to buy something to get the code. Nowhere to sit and read. The cafe has a 30-minutes or less policy to sit there and you must buy something to sit there and you cannot charge any devices. Buy something first too. Don’t sit down anywhere else! If you sit off to the side, on the floor, like a child or an animal, while you friend goes off to buy something to be allowed to use the bathroom so you can even focus on shopping, don’t! Don’t sit down! Security will be along to tell you to stand up within a singular minute. Don’t relax! Don’t enjoy! Buy something! There are great sales for you to enjoy instead. 10% off! Buy one get one 50% off! Buy something! Evil.
Super friendly staff members. Absolutely loved looking around Barnes & Noble. I do much prefer a lot of the American bookcovers compared to the ones I have back in the UK at their parent company Waterstones.
I just wish Barnes & Noble shipped to the UK.

This Barnes & Noble is consistent with the B & N brand. It spreads out over 3 levels and their friendly associates are eager to help in any way that they can. The views from this location are great. If you want to grab a book & a nook to mellow out, this is your place. They carry almost the newest, latest books. Stop in & get your hardcopy today!
The entrance is accessible. They have elevators as well as escalators to help you get to the appropriate floor.
The place was great and a good atmosphere book wise. They had a large selection of books. Only complaints are that they don’t let kids sit away from their parents which is annoying when I want to grab a coffee but the kids want to read! Their tables in the cafe have a time limit and a customer only policy. It makes the place feel slightly unwelcoming.
Finally made it to the Barnes & Noble store. With so many of them downing shutters, it was humbling to see one thriving.
I requested for The Dogist and they were kind enough to get the book in a few days.
The turn table collection in here was also fabulous. You get a lot of quirky stuff for the Traveller and the reader in you on the 1st floor.
Don't get me started on Barnes & Noble, it's my FAVORITE place to go :D So many good books, nice cafe, and their CD/DVD/Vinyl area is amazing with great prices! I love this place because it's big and has a great selection for movies, not just books. I feel like this place is better than Barnes & Noble Union Square if you're looking to browse the CD/DVD/Vinyl collection.
I am (was) a regular customer, until today in a half empty store on 5th avenue store employee demanded that I don't sit on the floor in their shop. I was simply reviewing a large book that I considered buying (did not, left store & not going back), when I asked her where I can sit, she told me to go to coffee shop in the store, buy something & sit there... is Barnes & Noble a book store or coffee shop? Not clear & nasty experience. I did go to another book shop browsed books sitting by the shelf there & bought bunch of them, I guess "Barnes" is called so because it is for horses, not people.
I met Victoria Monét here for a photo op, got a copy of her new book and passed her team some of my R&B beats. Hopefully, she uses at least 1 of the beats on that hard drive and win herself another Grammy Award
This place is amazing, you can find a wide variety of book and music related stuff.
Attention was awesome, I couldnt pay with my card and the cashier really tried everything to come up with a solution for me, I really appreciate that she took so much time to help me.
There's also plenty of puzzles and boardgames.
You also have a cafe inside so you can sit there to start reading your newest book
I absolutely love Barnes & Noble. It's like a fun whole day experience for me. They have have many cute things, pencil cases, pens, Japanese puzzles, tote bags, chocolates, packing cubes and notebooks, and everything is adorable. And the book selection is just magical. Last great bookstore spot with all the sections. Employees kind of curt and rude compared to other locations though. Great selection of hard copies of music and movies.
Sadly an escalator was out of service. No sign, no sign there was an elevator people were walking up and down the same street escalator. Strange and unsafe. The store is not inviting. The cafe area is understaffed. There are not enough seats but they post a sign that you have 30 minutes. The store has lack of managerial skills. It’s a zoo.
This store is a big disappointment. I think the new CEO of Barnes & Noble has decided to create the most miserable book store on earth.
Instead of making customers feel welcome, the manager has placed signs everywhere telling people what they can’t do.
It’s a shame, because this was once a great bookstore that encouraged customers to hang out for a while and purchase a coffee with their books.
The worst post of this store is that you have to check out with your items before you can use the restroom (which is closed more than it’s open) and then return to the second floor to use the facilities.
Don’t even think of trying to browse a book— since many of them are shrink wrapped closed.
Not sure why anyone would want to make people feel unwanted and uncomfortable in their business, but this store makes that happen.

A surprisingly solid and wide selection of swell titles across three levels. Bigger than you’d think from the outside, with ample toys, cafe, and magazine racks. Bright and roomy. Quite secure. Found just what I wanted: the titles I didn’t know existed but couldn’t leave behind.
Heaven for book lovers.

12.27.22 - it didn’t feel like a fun bookstore anymore. It just feels very corporate or strictly transactional. We weren’t even allowed to sit on the floor to read some of the children’s books, which was off putting. Nevertheless, the staff was helpful, but after asking a few nuanced questions to get to the intended answer, good or bad.
I rather support a LBS or a McNally’s.
