The good: fish, cold cuts, breads, salads, store-brand ice-cream(?!) and lasagna. The bad: for months I begged them to resume selling chocolate cake slices with vanilla frosting. They never did. Now I don't buy any of their slices, because they're still $7 instead of $5.50. No excuse; egg prices stabilized/reverted a while back. They also need to be sure they carry affordable, single-portion lamb and steak ($11 or less). A good market only a few better decisions from being a great one.

High-end grocery store with a wide variety of foods, like aged cheeses, dry-aged beef, fresh produce, cakes, wine, and more. It is on the pricier side, but worth visiting if you're looking for premium quality products at a premium price.

Love this store. Wonderful selection of foods and the staff here are amazing. More specifically the sandwiches and salads. I had a salad that was hand crafted and OUT OF THIS WORLD. Angela who works in this department was very kind and helped me choose a sandwich that was made fresh and was quite tasty and definitely worth the price as well. Truly a great go to for grabbing food on the go- highly recommend. Super clean and organized.

Omg I love this place. I discovered wegmans back in 2012 when I lived in Syracuse. I brought the lobster salad which I give. 5/10 when I opened it but 10/10 as leftovers. The winner was the chocolate dome petit. For 8 dollars it was so worth it. I’m not a pastry eater but I had this and now I want to buy it again. The cake was soft and the moose was delicious. Will be back soon. No pics of the lobster salad because it’s gone lol but pic of the cake .

One of my favorite upscale supermarket in Manhattan. Their to go bowls are delicious. Baked goods also. Great place to pick up lunch.

On the ground floor, some tall staff member I asked for help proceded to bully me! I had walked away from him B/C I soon realized he was completely lacking knowledge about bread. He was completely unfamiliar with rye breads, + unnable to answer my question. After I moved away to continue shopping, he followed be 50 feet away down an aisle where he blocked my way to tell me that he's a manager, and that I don't have to be "so unpleasant." I said "I don't want to speak with you." He continued to aggressively completely bar my way, hovering over me..Then he threatened me: "So you want to continue shopping here? I could make you not be able to!" I said "You'd ban me for walking away from you...? ..." He: "You could be banned b/c U R rude".. I had backed away from him, and then ended the discussion w/: "I'm not rude, just impatient!" + walked away, shaken and freaked-out by the 6+ ft. tall, skinny bully who decided to come for me, an 80 yr. old lady shopping alone on a Saturday morning, 10:45 A.M. or so. I told my family, friends + neighbors when I got home, and they all were very upset on my behalf. Although the food's good, this horrid manager's aggressive, hostile behavior disuaded us all from shopping there in future!

This is an incredible grocery store if you’re looking for high quality produce, packaged snacks, and prepared foods. They make sushi, Asian bowls, cakes, breads, and cookies. You can easily get lost here wandering the aisles.

I FOUND A ROACH IN MY FOOD. I had a very unfortunate disgusting experience when eating my brand new lunch from wegmans today. Yesterday I bought the chicken shawarma bowl from their already made bowl section and it wasn’t until I got to the bottom of the bowl where I discovered a foreign object that was not food. It had legs and was most definitely a bug that appeared to be a half of a roach it was a reddish brown color with legs. I immediately was sick and am very dissapointed as I have never had a bad experience with wegmans before however this was my first time going to this nyc location.

We loved it when Wegmans came to Manhattan. We love the selection and the quality of the food and the freshness of the produce. Everything we want at great prices. We especially love the fish mongers and the butchers. We get quality steaks and short ribs and the freshest of fishes with some even from Hokkaido. We get to try something new almost every week. For quick meals the quesadillas and meatballs are great. While the sandwiches and sushi’s are fantastic and almost a daily treat. Pro-tip, grab a fresh piece of sushi quality fish downstairs and bring up to the sushi counter upstairs where they can cut it up into sushi or sashimi right in front of you and wrap it up for a nice takeout snack. We gotta try it!

The interior design is astounding, it looks very not New York, looks a bit Southern and Midwestern. Price is not as bad as Whole food. Has many cook food station for you to order. Not too bad for a first impression of Wegman in NYC.

I order delivery from here often. This is the second time I received a juice box that started leaking from the bottom. Every time all my other items get soaked in sticky juice, not to mention this is also a food safety hazard.

I live near this Wegmans so I go most days, and hope it never closes!! This is a mix of subjective/objective thoughts. The Good: 1. The hot bowls. I get these for lunch like 2-3 times a week, and they’re great and they’re big. A lot of the time I end up eating half and finishing it for lunch the next day. Highly recommend the hot bowls instead of the ones sitting out. Shoutout James and everyone else at the bowl station, haven’t had a bad one. 2. The wings. The wiiiiiiings. Fast, easy, and they’re consistently good. Haven’t had a dry wing, though caveating that I’m usually getting them for lunch, so they haven’t been out long. 3. Meat deli. The wegmans rosemary ham! Everyone is always super helpful, and it’s never a crazy weight to get stuff sliced. 4. Well-stocked. It’s infrequent that something I need isn’t there. The things I notice sometimes missing at the end of the day are certain fish, specific milks, liquid egg whites, and packaged sliced bread (downstairs, not the Wegmans bakery). 5. Quick lines. Usually am in line for under 2min to checkout 6. Helpful/kind staff. I don’t expect to have any level of service at a crazy busy nyc supermarket, it’s a stressful job and I’m sure it’s not easy dealing with everyone who comes in. But wegmans just has a nicer friendly vibe. It feels closer to a suburban grocery store. 7. Plants! It’s rare that they have plants, but when they do they’re very affordable and good quality. I got a 3 ft rubber plant for $20! 8. Bathroom. Appreciate that they have a bathroom that is easy for customers to use. There is an attendant, but they don’t require a code. 9. Cakes, the marbled sheet cake is so good. Easy and affordable for events 10. Better quality produce. The Not-so-good 1. The sushi. I want to love the sushi, but refrigerated grocery store sushi just doesn’t ever taste that good, even at wegmans. 2. The sandwiches. Have never really been impressed by them, they’re super bread-y. 3. The shoppers club. I enter my phone number every time I checkout and there’s basically no benefit. They have fairly limited coupons, and that’s basically the only use for it. There’s no rewards for continuously shopping at wegmans. 5. Selection. Also not terrible, as they’re far better than most nyc stores. But there’s some classic items that they don’t carry. For example, they don’t stock a lot of the refrigerated pillsbury and toll house stuff.

I love this store and was so happy to see it finally in Manhattan. The downstairs floor is massive and easy to navigate - it doesn’t feel cramped or claustrophobic. The upstairs has so many takeaway options available. And I love that they have so many self checkout kiosks which made getting in and out easy.

I learned about Wegmans when I was living up in Syracuse while attending law school. For three years it was my go to supermarket. I loved my Wegmans at the CUSE for its size, selection, and prices. It was the greatest thing ever when they finally opened stores here in the City. The Wegmans at Astor Place is amazing. The selections are very good. It’s large enough that they’ll probably have everything that you need. It’s a great choice for food shopping in the City. The pricing is ‘OK’, in that sometimes you run across good deals. I should also mention that the prepared food section is amazing. All kinds of dishes. On this occasion I picked up some sushi and some shrimp with an excellent dipping sauce. Keep in mind that I lived in Japan for several years and had fantastic sushi there a couple times a week, so I’m a definite sushi snob and very critical of ‘Americanized’ sushi. But, for grocery store sushi I was impressed. It was excellent!! You got to try it. The two prepared things I got were delicious, but I think everything looked appetizing. This supermarket is spotless and the staff helpful. If you haven’t been, then you may want to check them out. I’m sure that you’ll be surprised and impressed. Wegmans in the City…gotta love it.

I've started a new journey to find the best grocery store rotisserie chicken in the United States of America. This is running parallel with my current journey to find the best rotisserie chicken in the world. Two separate journeys, as I can't imagine a grocery story will even sniff the top 10 overall. Anyways, first up is Wegmans. $9.99 for a whole Rosemary Rotisserie chicken. I went with the non-organic, as I feel like I need to keep this consistent across all grocery stores. I took my whole chicken to the park, sat on a bench, and recorded myself ripping into this tissy like a dork. I also bought a bottle of water, as I was expecting this to be dry as hell. Honestly, this chicken blew me away. Wegmans came to COMPETE. The skin was pretty crispy and the meat surprisingly tender and juicy. When I ripped into the leg, it lowkey fell off the bone. I was in shock. I didn't even need the water. Final score was 8.5 out of 10. Overall, Casa Adela is my #1 Rotisserie Chicken in America at a 9.7. I can't imagine a grocery store beating this, although Costco's tissy seems to have plenty of fans. Whole Foods is next. I'll keep y'all updated. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

One of my favorite grocery chains and so happy that are here in NYC. It has all the stables and more, prices are decent (we are in Manhattan after all), and the staff are friendly. There can be lines at checkout but it mov s rather quick. I grew up on their subs and they have them here but they’re not as good as I remembered them to be but still tasty. They lots of hot food options and seem to be more coming.

Very large supermarket with all the basics with a very good selection of Asian items, seafood and fresh meals/hot/cold food compared to other large supermarkets like Fairway or Wholefoods. Prices are quite decent and definitely recommend. They have some of the best prices for ice cream pints of which they have a large selection. It does not feel as upscale as whole foods and the price difference reflects it, but the quality is still very good and comparable.

My new go to grocery store for fish and meats! Albeit a bit pricey, they had less common meat cuts (like whole leg of lamb) and fresh sushi-grade fish. I was bummed, however, to have been told that the halibut had skin on it when it did not. I ended up spending $70+ on the wrong piece of fish.

My latest addiction is their Garlic oil bread. I visited in search of white bread that I bought in their Brooklyn branch. But alas different store location stock different items. Great fruit selection and Kosher chicken. Bakery is very tempting also. Easy self service check outs. But manned check outs usually do not have a busy line. I visit around 19:00 or before closing on all days of the week. CVS opposite for toiletry items you don’t find here. Bonus it’s on the M101,102&103 bus route. And M8 & 22 I believe. The store layout is a bonus size wise. Even when busy it’s easy to navigate. Or maybe the type of people who frequent have spacial awareness of others. Clean aesthetic.

This place is really fascinating!! Yesterday was my first time going and I had never observed so many fresh fruits and vegetables, well organized and with their signs that describe even when and how to enjoy it best. The prices are really affordable The establishment is super clean, organized, the place is so big that you can take a walk while filling the basket for your home pantry The employees are so cheerful and if they see that you need help with something they attend to you without hesitation. They see themselves capable of doing their job and that makes me very happy Because I've gone to other establishments where the employees seem unhappy to serve you On the first level are the cashiers for check out with them (if you pay with cash) or autoself check out (if you pay with EBT, Debit Card/Credit Card). The lines always move very fast from what I understand is too simple to buy and pay! There is also a Bakery and Lunch, Sushi, Coffee, Meals to Go, Everything smells so delicious and fresh At the low level are products for pantries, meats, fruits, groceries, producers and others... There are also frozen products such as ice cream, pizza, chicken nuggets. There are also cosmetic and personal hygiene products, household cleaning products, many types of beverages. Variety of products (you should come and see) The shopping carts and baskets are very clean and organized (I have gone to other establishments where the shopping carts and baskets are already very dusty and dirty) I hope the boss congratulate the staff because everything looks so clean, tidy and very nice I 100% recommend coming here to shop (worth a walk) Also make purchases from instacard for delivery at home Another detail is that I had forgotten my umbrella in a shopping cart, thank God there were honest people and the person who found it left it at customer service and I was able to recover it (It was a rainy day and I was worried about going home wet) so, I thank the staff again for doing an excellent job and helping me find my umbrella I will go again whenever I need to do groceries for my home or just take a Meal to Go

This place is so huge, and was basically deserted on a late May weekday morning. They have delicious olive oil Tuscan pane that I stopped in to grab, also very good blueberry cheddar cheese. Was overall pretty disappointed by the bakery but their charcuterie boards to go were a work of art!

I heard about Wegmans opening on Astor Place while listening to the news and decided to take a trip there. I mainly went for the sushi because I love sushi especially if you read my reviews. I like the store it's really clean and loaded with lots of produce and others stuff. I picked up some nutritional yeast that I couldn't find at my local supermarket. The sushi department is nuts they have all kinds of sushi I got some sashimi which was my first time eating it. I also picked up some tuna sushi which both tasted awesome. I looked around and saw some Poke bowls that looked underwhelming so I decided not to get it. If you like sushi and are down in the area go to Wegmans and get some.

This place is absolutely incredible! Wegmans is one of the best supermarkets out there - just exploring the enormous space and discovering the never-ending collection of products is so much fun! The hot-bar and salad bar are fantastic and have an huge variety of dishes. I wish they had more spots around the city!

Wegmans provides an excellent shopping experience. The 2-story store has an escalator/stair option with a cart moving capability along elevators. A very broad and deep selection across all packaged goods. Also some specialty items for freshly prepared meal items. Have some favorite foods that can be difficult to find. While the prices are not bargain basement, the quality is high. Wide aisles make store easy to navigate.

I absolutely love Wegmans. Most grocery stores feel dirty and understocked. Not only does Wegmans have a pretty good array of food items and choices, but it’s visually pleasing to the eye as well. My favorite part is stopping by the bakery just because it’s so captivating. They definitely have other grocery stores beat with their bakery selection. By the way the chocolate chip cookies are to die for. 11/10 easily. It’s a MUST to get a sweet treat since it’s hard to just walk by as you make your way downstairs where the other items are. There’s an escalator that you can use with your shopping cart but if that’s not your style you can use the elevator just adjacent to it. Also I’m a huge fan of their flowers. They last a very long time if you take care of them and use the food packet!!! I’ve never not been pleased with their floral arrangements. They make beautiful gifts. Very good meat selection, seafood, and tons of other options too. I love that the place feels like it’s just the right size. I’m never overwhelmed walking inside and everyone is super friendly and helpful

Great selection of fish/seafood and cheese from Europe!! Overall produce quality is outstanding! Spend more time in the store and you will find good prices just don't rush look through all. Once you learn the product flow it will be easier to just come grab and go. You can't go wrong with the selection of food as all food is simply outstanding!

The quality of flowers was terrible. It did not last two days. Very sad. ————————— Cutting Tuna Show was fun! Thank you. I recently visited Wegmans, and I must say it left a positive impression. The abundance of fresh options was impressive, making it a haven for those seeking quality produce. The staff's friendliness added to the overall pleasant atmosphere, creating a welcoming environment for customers. One highlight was the fish section, which stood out as a fun and engaging experience. The variety of seafood available was not only extensive but also showcased a commitment to quality. It was a refreshing departure from the usual routine of grocery shopping. However, it's important to note that the otherwise enjoyable experience was slightly marred by a notable inconvenience—the restroom wait time. Unfortunately, patrons had to endure waits exceeding 20 minutes, which proved to be a downside to an otherwise smoothly run supermarket.

This is an incredible supermarket with an excellent selection of anything you would want. It is clean, neat and well organized. The highlight for me was the Japanese fish section. They actually get daily deliveries from Tokyo - you can't get any fresher than that! The service is great as well. Steve was my fish monger and he was tremendously helpful. I couldn't help but try the Amberjack that was sliced sashimi style. It was out of this world delicious! The store is not cheap, however quality is what you will experience. This place is definitely worth checking out!

This is an impressive store to ogle and browse - especially the Japanese fish section, gourmet cheese and ready-to-eat food sections. To actually buy, not so much. I think it is a huge oversight that they didn't include any seating - were they afraid homeless people would hang out there? As for the prices - as expensive if not more so than Whole Foods, with a few exceptions. Ready to eat foods: I wasn't impressed with the chicken tender, although the garden salad and roasted chicken wing were both good. It was a bit of a pain having to carry this back to my daughter's apartment.

Wegman’s newest supermarket has opened at Astor Place, steps from the #6 train and with a fabulous selection of all kinds of delicious takeout foods on the street level. Once you take the escalators down to the lower level you are in one of the largest grocery stores with a fantastic selection of fresh EVERYTHING: fish, meats, poultry, produce , cheeses as well as a huge selection of sll the staples you could hope to buy at any other supermarket, but at much lower prices! I was also impressed with their staff! Everyone wanted to help make my shopping experience enjoyable! And they succeeded magnificently.
