What clients say about Target in New York (NY)

Wow! this Soho store of Target's is representative of the exciting, fashion-forward merchandising that the Target Guests have been looking for. The boutique-like settings are on par with any of the hi-end brands in SoHo.

They did new renovations recently. Wow. Who did the rebrand and design concept? It’s absolutely terrible and resembles a dumpster fire. It’s trying to appeal to Gen Z but it’s a chaotic and unorganized dump now, filled with fast fashion/ ugly clothes at the front, and anything actually useful and worth buying scattered throughout the place completely disorganized. It’s so cringe, in like a let’s try to fake a Glossier from 2016 vibe but failing because guess what it’s now 2026 and you’re late and it shows. I’m way too angry about this but seriously, I’m filled with rage when I go in and what a waste of resources it took to build these huge and pointless hulking sets inside. I tried to get some cough drops earlier but they only had this weird basket full under the “newstand” that has stickers all of over it that didn’t actually have cough drops but just flavored candy. Why was it so hard just to find cough medicine? Or anything that I actually needed? Good thing downstairs still operates like a normal store and has stuff actually organized in a cohesive way. So disappointing on so many levels. And just so exemplifies out of touch and desperate people behind this rebrand, because gosh, so unthoughtful. As a few staff members said to me, if you need anything, just go to CVS down the street.

Nastiest female security guard here who will argue and fight with you and treat you like a criminal for attempting to purchase something and browsing.

Target has little of everything. Its always an fulfillment of wonderment just to browse! Don't forget to check out the clearance section!

They redid this place to have even less stuff somehow?? I can only get Miss Jeanie's curl creme here and the curl section is one shelf now? I went to a scanner to find if it's in stock somewhere else and it's in the backroom?? This is even worse than having items in cages. I'm not dealing with this anymore.

How you have no men’s deodorant in a 2 floor target. Asked a associate for service and she was like yeah they don’t have space to stock men’s deodorant smh horrible

This Target store on Broadway in Lower Manhattan has had an awful makeover. The new sci fi style shelving takes up far too much space and makes the store feel cramped and awkward to shop in. Worse still, they have completely removed the pharmacy section.
We had switched away from the old fashioned Duane Reade specifically because this store had an excellent pharmacy, and I am sure many other customers did the same. That business will now be lost.
Do these large chains ever ask customers for their opinion before making changes like this? They have certainly lost us as customers going forward.Dec 31, 2025 -
Outrageously beautiful with the new renovations, they really went all out and even when is so far as to train the staff to be Disney-level of friendly and welcoming. Even the security guard was super warm and welcoming and helpful, I genuinely thought he worked for Target corporate. The displays are simple yet gorgeous at the same time. They’ve officially made getting everyday items an entire fun and pleasant “shopping experience”.

Someone truly missed the mark with this so-called “renovation.”
How anyone could approve removing essential, everyday items from a Target store—especially in Manhattan, where every square foot is extremely costly—is beyond me. Instead of maintaining the basics that neighborhood residents rely on, the store is now filled with oversized, tacky displays that serve no practical purpose.
You removed medicine, deodorant, full-size toothpaste, and other staple necessities that people in the community genuinely need. Over the past week, on three separate visits, multiple employees told me that the items I was looking for are no longer being sold, and I ended up leaving empty-handed each time. I overheard other customers expressing the same disbelief and frustration.
To make matters worse, when re-opening the store, you actually closed it for a full day just to host “influencers”—individuals who have no connection to the neighborhood and no genuine interest in your brand beyond receiving a free goodie bag. The result? A wave of manufactured, short-lived hype designed solely for social media views, rather than any sincere reflection of what the community wants or needs. It felt like a publicity stunt completely detached from the reality of your actual customer base.
The store now feels like a beauty-only boutique, almost a Sephora-like environment, except it’s still missing the everyday essentials people come to Target for. This isn’t what the neighborhood needs, and it’s certainly not what Target is supposed to be.
Target, you’ve seriously lost sight of your purpose with this renovation. It’s disappointing, confusing, and entirely out of touch with your customers’ needs. You really missed the mark on this one.Dec 16, 2025 -
My Soho Target has just gotten a glow-up with a major focus on fashion and beauty. It's definitely cooler and more fun to visit BUT for me the usability of this store has not improved since I would like them to carry much more in the way of household items (detergent etc). Most of the time my local bodega carries more useful items than Target. But that aside, nice job aesthetically.

Men be warned, this has been converted to a women’s target. I didn’t know such a thing existed. They removed men’s products like deodorant or hair paste. Bold strategy, I’ll have to take my business elsewhere.

New store changes for the holidays are awful. I can no longer go in and buy a bottle of advil, shampoo, or a toothbrush?? I thought this was a Target, not a boutique clothing store. This is exactly how you lose regular customers.

This location just doesn’t make any sense. The employees are great, the selection of goods however… just horrible

Bathroom was a savior for my 5 year old son and we even had the excitement of an impromptu police search of the bathroom looking for a stolen wallet.

Terrible place with RUDE employees YIKES!! A girl who had her hair in a ponytail, her hair color was black, she looked midsize possibly hispanic and had some gold earrings. I had asked her a question if the bathroom was actually out of order because of the sign and I saw that RUDE employee actually waiting in line for the bathroom. She didnt care to use her words and was MAD RUDE. she needa get taught some education Target!!!

Worst place when it comes to customer service. They make millions of dollars and has only one bathroom for customers. There is always 20 -30 people on the line just to use the bathroom. It takes like at least 30 mins before it is your turn. They only care about making money. Don’t matter if someone in emergency

Rude staff. Specifically this one girl, 5’4-5’7 rang, long black straight hair, medium-dark skin, wearing a red lip today. She was restocking near the back on the first level near the bodywash. My friend and I politely asked if she could open the sliding door to get a bodywash, she looked us dead in the eye said nothing and continued to restock. I was a little thrown off because I knew she heard us because we were making eye contact. I brush it off and say sorry could you open this cabinet for us. She does and we thank her. A few minutes go by and we need help opening the door next to it. We ask her again very politely and she mumbles, I say “sorry” because I couldn’t hear her. She responds that’s she’s not the one who has the keys. Okay no problem… but who does. Like cmon let’s problem solve here. She gets someone in assuming and then returns to restock the deodorant my friend was near her because she assumed she would just go straight to the cabniet we needed open after retrieving the keys. She turns to my friend and is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, She says, “you don’t have to keep following me, you can wait over there” my friend tells me this and you can see the shock in my face as she comes back in 2 min. She opens the door and proceeds to slam it behind us. I work with people everyday and no situation ever calls for you to speak to someone the way she treated us. Extremely disrespectful and unmannerly. She deserves disciplinary action.

Don’t, don’t, dzzzzonnttttt believe the hype. This “Target” does not carry garments such as white undurr-shirts, umderware, and soxx. Please please pleek be advised that I am misspelling these words so that they don’t show up in searches on google maps for such garments. By the way, excluding negative mentions or mentions of absence from searches is a great use case for AI! Free advice Mr. Sundar Pichai! Just dontttt come here desperately in need of UN DEEZ or other such Khloething other than seasonal holiday items because there will be none “dans ce targét”

This target doesn't have as much stuff as any other target in manhattan and is actually quite small compared to other targets. there isn't any clothing and what not in this taget store which makes sense with all the other shopping areas in the area but there is mostly just foods and drinks at this target.

Had such a good experience shopping today! Was able to pop in and out easily. Wanted to shout out Welinton (I’m not sure I spelled their name correctly), but they were so helpful and I really appreciated how welcoming and positive they were while I was checking out.

I came to this new Target store to pick up some essentials. It has two floors. The first floor has beauty, checkout and a few healthcare items and the rest of the stuff is on the lower floors. It is more like a Target Express as they don't have a lot of variety. They do have some sales but most of the items were out of stock. The aisles are well-stocked and lite. The store does look a bit dingy though even though it's brand new. There was a leaky vent on the bottom floors that they had to put caution signs all over. The staff can be hit and miss.

It's a tiny Target store but this might be the most unique Target store anywhere. The architecture is beautiful with brick and cast iron detailing. These mini Targets all over Manhattan remind me of a CVS drugstore but with better prices. It's mostly snacks, toiletries, cosmetics, and a few other random items. But it's worth just checking it out for the architecture.

smallest Target i‘ve been to…but really organized, brightly lit, and well-maintained. honestly, i have probably walked by this Target so many times without realizing it was there—very inconspicuous Target in SoHo. most of the merchandise is located below street level—from groceries to home goods to electronics. even though this Target is small, it doesn’t feel super claustrophobic. staff were ever present and there to help.

The Target store in Soho, NY, is a modern and spacious retail space with a wide array of products for all ages and interests. It's located in a bustling neighborhood and attracts a diverse clientele looking for affordable prices and trendy items. The store is well-organized with friendly staff, making it a convenient and enjoyable shopping experience.
In short, this place is clutch because of the prices. Although, the prices have increased since it first opened in 2022Apr 11, 2023 -
It’s target, you know it’s great ! This one is better because it’s completely new. Everything is clean and nice, I hope it stays like that !
Two floors, most of the things are downstairs. They sell beer and ice. There are self checkout cashiers.
The location is great, just outside the subway and next to Soho.Aug 18, 2022 -
New and brightly lit! Super excited to have Target at such a convenient location.
