I could spend all day in this store. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They have just about everything in this store. Will be back soon.

The people working at this (and other stores of theirs that I visit) are always friendly and helpful. Especially Pete in the lawn mower department in Ace Hardware in Mt Dora Florida. For some strange reason it would not change to the store I am purchasing at!

Old school hardware store, they have EVERYTHING! The staff are professional, friendly, helpful. The best!

My daughter just moved into the neighborhood and picked up the AC window unit I ordered online. She shared how friendly everyone was and how the staff went out of their way to help her load the heavy box into an Uber during a rainstorm. It’s wonderful knowing she has a local business nearby with such caring employees. Always happy to support a neighborhood store over a big box option. Thank you to those that helped her!

A destination hardware store. Good customer service and the staff seems pretty knowledgeable.

First fellow I asked for help who clearly worked there said he didn’t work there which was odd. The next fellow I asked for assistance was very helpful. We move on.

I visited the store to buy a Travellers Adapter. They were able to get me the relevant adapter. It was a peaceful interaction.

Brickman’s Ace Hardware on the Lower East Side is a hidden gem. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they always have what you need.

Well stocked and extremely organized. The staff are always available to help but they’re not overbearing or too quick to jump in if you’re just perusing the aisles. Full selection of Craftsman and Channel Lock tools. Wish I had a store like this in my neighborhood.

This is my neighborhood hardware store. I am between Ace and the one one on 7th Street and 1st Avenue (which I do not recommend). Everyone at Ace is friendly and knowledgeable. The man with longish salt and pepper hair (Mike) was really great when I was in last week. So was the young man (Ray) by lightbulbs. I trust them to get my keys made, help choose tools and supplies and just general home-repair dyi info!

So many things in a small store, and great staff that could tell you exactly where the thing you were looking for was. E.g., I needed a candy thermometer, and there wasn’t one at my local target, but they had several choices here. And prices comparable to the big box stores. Shop local!

I recently visited this establishment and left deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and discourteous behavior of the staff. The experience was unsettling and left me feeling discriminated against. When I approached the register to check out, a man who appeared to be the manager went from being cheerful with the previous customer to visibly irritated upon seeing me. He loudly yelled from the aisle at a female employee, instructing her to assist me, despite her already helping another customer. Her expression showed confusion and concern as she, too, seemed unsure why she was being reprimanded so abruptly. I kindly asked if everything was okay, but even she seemed as confused as I was about the manager’s hostile behavior. The entire situation was uncomfortable and left me questioning whether I should just put my item back and walk away, but I was too stunned in the moment to act. This experience felt personal—filled with an undertone of discrimination or hate—and was deeply hurtful. Respect and professionalism are fundamental in customer service, and this encounter lacked both. I would never return to this establishment and strongly advise others to think twice before supporting a business that fails to treat all customers with fairness and dignity.

For my hardware goods....I strictly shop at my Lower East Side Ace store. The folks there are friendly, no hassle.. nonsense. Bet you leave there with more than you originally came for!!

1 Star I had a terrible experience at Brickman's Ace hardware store. I went in to purchase a lock for my broken door, explaining that I have children and needed assistance urgently. Unfortunately, the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They told me they were closing and refused to continue helping with my order. I strongly recommend avoiding this store. For a much better experience, including more affordable prices and friendly, helpful staff, check out 98 Clinton Hardware Store in the Lower East Side.

Received the best customer service at this store. I am a wheelchair user from out of town. The front wheel of my chair came flying off in the streets of New York. I came to ACE trying to find screws to fix my front wheel and Emilio jumped into action and not only helped me find the screws but put them on my chair - and basically fixed my wheelchair. He saved my entire trip as I wouldn’t be able to get around with a front tire missing. Eternally grateful and very impressed at the care and assistant I got at this store due to employees like Emilio!

These guys are the absolute best. Every time I come in the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and able to help hands-on. I recently had to add a plug to the end of a chandelier, they had the perfect product that could clamp the plug onto the wire in 30 seconds and I was in and out of the store with the project done in 2 minutes

Conman run this store went to buy paint few month ago for touch ups and told me this paint isn't available anywhere. I called a different ace store was able to buy it without a problem. Made an online order cancelled when item still shows in stock and also available in store. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE RUN BY CROOKS AND CONMAN go to Home Depot and just order online will be cheaper as well

The overweight older woman with glasses at the cash register was very rude to me. I went to pick up an order from their online store “ much cheaper by the way” and she looked offended that I asked for my order. I grew up in this neighborhood and they used to be great. It’s no wonder everyone is turning to Amazon! I don’t see this chain lasting much longer!

Great hardware store with just about everything one needs for the apartment. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable, just ask. Or if you just want to wander around, they will leave you alone. Highly recommended.

I'm sorry to read that someone had an experience here with a sales person that was unpleasant. I believe, having gone to this store for some many years, (even though there is a store closer to me), that if they had had the opportunity to address this problem with the customer he would have had his problem resolved to his satisfaction. They are REALLY a business that is here to help people with their needs, and have always been respectful and helpful with every problem I have brought to them. They have served both me personally, and the building I live in, (that has an account with them actually) in the best possible way. Always honest, always courteous.

The staff is extremely rude and the items are all overpriced. I was harassed by one of the staff members here and at one point I had to beg the guy to leave me alone so I can finish shopping. I ended up not being able to purchase what I needed because it was unavailable and I was screamed at by one of the employees because he did not hear me ask him to please move so I can get around the aisle and I accidentally bumped into him while moving past him. I don't care if he was having a bad day, you do not treat your customers like that.

Called here twice, to ask if they sold scalpels before embarking on a 15 min walk. Both times got put on hold by the same woman for about 5 mins. No “please hold” no “let me check” or “let me ask” .... just holding music. I hung up and called the hardware store on Great Jones and was helped wonderfully. Take your money elsewhere , as much as I love supporting small business , customer service is always expected in return, why spend money in places where they’re not making any efforts to help the customer.

These guys are the best. They have helped me countless, countless times. They are happy to answer questions, honest with you about any products, and give great, real advice. As a young girl in NYC, home projects involving hardware can be challenging and these guys have saved me so many time - and with a smile!!!! When the city hit a major heat wave, I was frantically trying to get an air conditioner - everywhere had a long wait time for delivery, expensive delivery fees, and hardly any support with installation. At Ace, the guys were happy to help, they delivered the unit to my house for free (just followed me right to my apartment with a hand truck). They gave me the number to a local guy who does installation for a very reasonable price and he was also able to do same day service. I’d give them more stars if it was possible. They’re the best.

Mixed feelings. They're helpful enough if asked, and give you room to look around, but the price you'll get charged at the register likely won't match their website or the shelf tag, which is a deal breaker in my book. I tried to buy 2 things, one was 20 dollars (50%) more than the website, the other was $10 (100%) more than the shelf tag, and no one seemed concerned they were advertising the wrong prices. There's a reason Amazon is winning! Perhaps another hardware store in the area will be better...?

They have everything one might need for projects large and small and most importantly for me they have great service. There is always someone available to ask for advice and to answer questions and everyone who works there is really nice and helpful. Very cool independent store. And they will let you bring your bicycle in!

I feel like family when I walk in here, and I can always get as much help as I need for my personal home projects, no matter how strange they might be. Even though the prices may be higher than I like, for me it's worth the convenience and to keep these guys in business. Lots of respect for these people, especially since they offer my non-profit charity a tax-free discount.
