Made an appointment for an inspection and they scheduled me right away.
I stopped into Batavia To check on oil change prices it was a fantastic deal so I decided to have it done right then and there. everyone there was professional and courteous.
Fantastic service great people got us all fixed up in the middle of a trip we had some problems with our car took care of us and got us on our way highly recommended wish they were in my town
Got me in immediately got tires put on almost as quick as an oil change absolutely amazing people hard-working and so polite and friendly they saved my butt
I've been going here for years. I took my old car here. And I take my new car here. I have never had a bad experience. The service is impeccable and the technicians know exactly what they're doing. Highly recommended.
It's getting toward the end of my new vehicle warranty and I won't be receiving anymore perks at the car dealership. I figured I'd test out Batavia Automotive with a vehicle inspection. This would allow me to get a sense of how they operate before trusting them with any larger jobs down the road.
The Good:
The receptionist was quick at her job, even driving some customer vehicles into the shop herself. She spoke clearly and did not beat around the bush with me or the other customers while I was present.
The Bad:
My vehicle had a loose fastener on one of the wipers and the mechanic flagged it as a safety violation. The receptionist offered to sell me a single wiper for $25- what appeared to be a Service-Pro branded mixed-material wiper blade. I declined because I had a pair of pure silicone blades back at home.
Even though windshield wiper violations are at the discretion of the inspecting mechanic, the receptionist said it could not be reversed. I told her that I would be back shortly after I installed my wiper blades at home up near Albion.
The Ugly:
When back home I gave a quick search about New York state inspections and wiper blades. The inspecting mechanic was supposed to run the windshield washer fluid and see if the blades functioned as intended. If the wipers were unable to function, they fail. Otherwise the wipers are doing their job and aren't a safety violation- regardless of a loose fastener.
Batavia Automotive's mechanic did not test the wipers in this manner. The windshield was not wet when the car was returned to me just a couple of minutes after failure and my wipers had always functioned for me during rain/snow/windshield washing.
I gave their Service-Pro wiper blades a search and found them elsewhere for around $11 per blade!
Batavia Automotive also rents out U-Haul trucks. This might not seem like a problem to some people, but it greatly complicates matters inside their cramped parking lot they share with another business. It also shows that they are not focused on automotive matters and might just be looking to make a quick buck...
After some digging around, Batavia Automotive does not appear to be locally owned or operated. The business is registered in Brooklyn and the property is owned by people from Massachusetts.
I will not be going back to Batavia Automotive.
I will be taking my vehicle here for now on. Super accommodating and flexible. And is honest. Will not screw you like most places do! Thank you for fitting me in when you were so busy .
I asked if they could make the repair and they said yes. They took my truck apart, could not finish the job because they did not have the required tools and then had the audacity to charge me full rate for their time. You've got to be kidding me. Horrible service. Oh by the way, I found the tool at NAPA for $12
Completely misdiagnosed my coolant leak. It ended up being a broken hose clamp, but they told me it needed a $700 water pump job. I don't feel like they were being dishonest, but the techs just lacked the expertise needed to properly diagnose the problem.
I went in for a noise and trouble accelerating. They fixed a couple things, everything but the original issue. I still can't drive it. Service was friendly. But I have a feeling that since I'm a small woman they found other issues to fix assuming I didn't understand cars. Nice people but unfortunately I won't be going back anytime soon
Quoted me over $100 dollars to change a headlight (one headlight) Not even including the bulb. Guy didn’t sound like he knew how to change a wrangler headlight considering he said it would take at least an hour. On top of that I called 5 hours in advanced and when I got there he didn’t know if he had a bulb in stock. Should have told me his price over the phone. Pep boys quoted me 40 dollar install.
Totally recommend.... Took my car in for a new radiator. Got it back with in a timely manner and the car is running like a champ once again. Will be returning with any auto care I need to have done for both my car and truck. Thanks Lisa and guys!!!!! Great bunch of folks....
Stopped to have them check on an abs issue I was having. Heather was so nice and helpful. Will definitely get the work done here from now on. Very professional shop!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Great service. I had a check engine light on which was giving me a problem for a month. They were very helpful and it was fixed in only two days. Which is amazing for a purge valve that they had to drop the subframe to get to. Amazing customer service too. The receptionist was very nice and knowledgeable in what was going on with my vehicle. Thank you very much.
Beware of this business that is running a scam.
Took my car in for its annual inspection and failed because of wiper blades. The inspector never tested the wipers, but the secretary was eager to sell us new ones, encouraging us to spend $25 for each because coming back and paying $10 to be inspected again would be "a bummer".
Really nice people. Engine light came on during a holiday weekend Saturday. They were busy with other things, but took a look at my car right away, explained the two possible things going on, and let me know that I was good to drive back to my home state of Maine. Didn't even charge me. Thanks for helping out someone from 'away!'
Didn’t have a bad experience until I looked at my recipe details and seen they charged me for two window wipers at $25
And $28. Before agreeing to this I asked how much it would be and got told $21. Not only charged me more for them but never told me that it would be two. I thought it was $21 all together.
Fast and friendly local service! I get my oil changed and car inspections here. They never seem pushy on adding more services, like air filters, wiper blades, etc. If there is an issue, they show it and tell you their suggestions. Great job!!!!
This business was AMAZING!!!!
I had a breakdown on my way out of town. They checked it out, gave me a great quote, and fixed it right away. They didn't tell me to "Come back tomorrow".

Don't go here for any serious issues. Personally I wouldn't have them change my oil. They don't know the difference between a slip yoke and an egg yoke. I had to explain to them 3 times on the phone that I wanted 4 new tires put on, and the one good tire I had I wanted them to put as the spare. Talking to the guy at counter is like talking to a brick wall.
I had not gone back to this place since my family sold it to Jiffy Lube 15 years ago. The Oil Spout, Inc., a very successfully operated, one-of-a-kind, built from the ground-up family business I grew 20+ years with was run into the ground by those purchasers, and I swore after my first visit to them, I would never go back. It is now called Batavia Automotive. I decided to step in, hoping things would be different than Jiffy Lube. It was! John, the technician who worked on my vehicle, shared with me that he had the utmost respect for his boss and how well his employees are treated. I knew right away this was the place I needed to make family again. I felt right at home. I highly recommend taking your car here for services! Not only was I in and out in less than a half-hour with none of the problems I had when I pulled in, I was faced with a great staff, who very much informed me about my vehicle's problems. John is nothing less than incredibly helpful & friendly, as well as a highly-skilled technician whom I can trust. Customer for life. Might I add that this was the most inexpensive visit to a garage in my life! Thanks again John!
