Andrea was so helpful, kind and courteous. She helped me through the whole process of getting rid of my debris. She made the whole experience a pleasant one.

I recently attempted to dispose of our garbage at the Pennsauken sanitation landfill, but I was turned away due to my truck having a ladder rack. I was told that this is against the law for disposal vehicles, which I understand is meant to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. However, I was frustrated to see several other trucks with ladder racks successfully allowed to dispose of their trash during my visit. This inconsistency in enforcement raises concerns about how regulations are applied at the landfill. It seems unfair that some trucks can bypass the rules while others are strictly turned away. This has caused a significant inconvenience for me and likely for others in the community who rely on proper waste disposal. I hope that the Pennsauken sanitation team can address this discrepancy and ensure that regulations are enforced uniformly. Clear communication about the rules and consistent application is vital to maintaining trust and efficiency in community services.

I drove up to the window with a truck load of stuff in my 8’ bed truck and Andrea kindly helped me fill out some paperwork. You have to have a NJ license or other proof of residency to dump here. You are supposed to fill out a piece of paper every time you come to dump. She had me fill out numbers 1, 6, 7, 8, and 10. She circled ID13C for me because I was mostly dumping cardboard and trash. There’s a small (tiny) white mailbox on your right just as you come in where you can find extras of this paper, but it might be best to print your own and bring it. You then go to the scale, stop at the second-to-last window (it is a little hard to tell which one) and give the paper to the clerk. Then you dump in one of the large dumpsters on your left. My 1997 F250 truck did not have a problem though the gradient may be difficult for those who do not pull trailers often. Then you drive back to the other side of the box and pay. Andrea was very patient and helped me to do this smoothly.

A lot of people writing reviews did not bother to look at the website. The review by Matthew Galenas gave a great overview on what to expect when you arrive. The lady on the scales was very friendly to me and highlighted exactly what needed to be filled out on the O&D form as a residential dumper. The form can be downloaded from the website and filled out prior to arrival. They take cash and cards (with a 2.5% fee). It clearly states on the website that you MUST show up in a residential vehicle (e.g. NOT a work truck, NOT a Home Depot rental, NOT a U-Haul, etc.). Your gross scale weight must be less than 9000 lbs. A typical SUV is 4500 lbs for reference. You drive up to a concrete platform with large dumpsters below that you unload your waste into by hand. The reviewer who damaged his trailer damaged it himself, not as a fault of the facility. It is simple and easy. The cost was nominal (I paid ~6 bucks per hundred pounds).

refused me cause they claimed i was a contracter i was nit allowed to dump. i AM NOT a contractor. i ripped down my deck and handrails and cleaned out my garage. just cause i have a ladder rack on my truck. i borrowed from a buddy. the truck js not regestered commercial either. what a waste of 2 hours to still have a truck load of trash and no where now to dump it.

This landfill is terrible I called to ask if I could dump a residential trailer they told me yes no problem meanwhile the Area to dump my trailer absolutely did not work it had a 2 foot curb made of concrete into a regular dumpster down below it completely destroyed the taillights on my trailer and bent hinges for my door I called them after leaving to tell them this information and they completely blew me off. I have hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of damage on my trailer from simply dumping exactly where they told me to dump my trailer yet they have no remorse and simply said thank you for the knowledge goodbye.

Staff is great. I dropped my wallet on top of the landfill and they helped me recover it!

Just as their business is trash the workers follow suit w the name. TRASH. Woman at the "greeting" window is about as ignorant as they can come. She's in the perfect line of business w her trash attitude.

FIRST TIME RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS: Please read for what to expect; not everything is clear from the website. When you enter the driveway, turn left. Stop at the first STOP sign. You need to get a paper O&D form from the mailbox and fill it out before you go to the scales. Bring your own pen and be familiar with the "waste type" codes from the website. Drive up onto the scale (one vehicle at a time) and stop at the window to check in with your O&D form and driver's license. You will then self unload your waste from a raised platform into one of several dumpsters. Drive back onto the exit scale (again, one vehicle at a time) to check out. Overall, this is a relatively easy process, but some more clarification on the website, especially regarding the O&D form would be helpful.

Worst landfill ever based on our experience! Sadly to say but it seems they are not organized. They have turned people away without giving proper information. We didn’t know we were over the limit, because it’s hard to know that, and turned us away. So we go back home took some stuff out and went back, then they tells that we are not allowed to go in. We spoke to someone named Steve on the phone and he said that there is a Rule that you are not allowed back in ever again if you were over the limit before. “What???” WhAt kind of rule is this? It’s so unrealistic!!! We politely asked if they can make an exception since we didn’t know plus they lady that works at the entrance did not say that to us and we made a second trip, he said that they are not customer’s service and can’t break the ban rule. We pleaded taking in consideration the circumstances and he was NOT MOVED at all. He told us to “take it somewhere else”!!! Nobody else is going to take it since we are not their residents. So we hope that upper management takes a look into the operations at this landfill as residents we feel very frustrated when situations like these happen. Now we are stocked with the trash at home because our county ban their residents if they make the human mistake of going over the limit. We asked other landfills about this rule and they said they never heard of such thing. This is very frustrating! Has anybody else gone through this?

THEY ARE ONLY ACCEPTING CHECKS DURING COVID19. Why they wouldn’t put this on their website is beyond me. Just drove all the way there to be turned way because for some reason I can hand them a check but it’s not ok to hand them $20 bills. A little post on the website will save people a lot of time.

I thoroughly enjoy the convenience of a sanitary landfill within town, however, the lady who manages the entrance is very rude. We’ve made several trips today and every time she made it seem as though we were of an annoyance to her. Asked for a pen and her facial expression was not friendly.
