The humans that work there are degrading and will judge you not putting into consideration that they are 30 years old working at a glorified thrift store.
I do a lot of home improvement and yard projects so I go here to find material for a very low price. There's new stuff coming in everyday so you never know what you will find. My one suggestion would be is if you want something buy it when you see it because it probably will be gone rather quickly.
This is my go-to hardware and building supply store. No, the don't have everything, but they have a lot of what you probably need, including things that you can't find anymore. I've remodeled many different residential buildings and found Home Resource to be invaluable. Everything from very high end carpet and tile for small areas that cost me a fraction of new, to outdated replacement electrical and plumbing parts that saved the day. Lots of landscaping items, tools, even BBQ grills, ductwork and cabinets.
Don't pay any attention to the (very few) negative reviews about price. Those people are comparing things like hardwood cabinets found here to IKEA junk. I've probably saved $20K over the years and supported a local business in the process. Plus, they are the best type of recycling: reusing. I even donate when I can and tell them when they are charging me too little. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, and really do know where EVERYTHING is. Places like this are what makes Missoula a town worth living in.
This place is awesome! A huge selection of almost everything and very well organized and labeled. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Will definitely be back for finishing our remodel project.
Home Resource is an absolute GEM in Missoula! I’ve scored several high quality items there, from brand new tile for my bathroom, to wood for my garden beds, and even paint, lighting, and hardware. I always try to check their inventory before going to one of the big box stores for my home projects!
HomeResource is an asset to the greater missoula area that serves local homeowners, diy'ers, builders and works to diminish the load placed on our landfill. As a donor, you can free yourself of clutter, carefully extracted used building materials, and virtually anything that isnt clearly trash. Even some things that are trash, on occasion,are taken in hopes of becoming someone elses treasure. As a shopper, you can walk the yard and the warehouse for more time than you have to spare, and sift through every conceivable device, fastener, wood, laminate, conductive, fixture, or random thing that has everyone scratching their head until you find something for your project. When you make it to the counter, and present yourself with kindness and a smile, youll be rewarded by a price point that is shockingly reasonable. Visit often, buy a lot.
Such a fun place to go. I love the principles that guide MUD and Home Resource, and the people that work there are great. My husband and I come here and wander around for an hour or two, although he could probably spend the entire day here. There’s always new and different stuff and you can get really good deals on nearly new things.
Best place to find great materials to reuse instead of paying top dollar for the same exact thing in a big box store. Saves me a ton of money each year, and I get to give back to our community.
You'll be surprised at all the amazing options for whatever you're working on. Don't expect to find it too easily, but it's there somewhere... Their prices are not only fair, but negotiable, so drop a couple bucks in the donation bucket to keep this wonderful Missoula Resource healthy.
This is the place to go if you're in need of almost anything related to home maintenance and more! They have random screws, hard to find parts, light fixtures, cabinets, int./ext. doors, plumbing fixtures, including many non-standard items. The amount of inventory of all the different products is quite good and the prices are even better. Make sure you have a little time to spend, just to familiarize yourself with layout of the store. Once you know where to look for certain things, that's when the savings start. Best wishes!!
Always find great stuff here at a great price. The employees are also very friendly and accommodating. Donating is really easy. We donated 700 square feet of carpet and padding and their driver coordinated with us to pick it up and haul it away - he was very prompt and helpful! Would highly recommend!
First time stopping in, my son suggested it as we are working on a project. Needed some screws & the price @ local stores was $5-$9. Doesn't seem like a lot, unless you take into account the small amount we need. Found the exact same ones here & a few extra for $1. We'll be back, thanks Home Resource! ?
This place is the Lego box of home stores, you will spend a long time finding the right piece you need, but you will have fun and make a ton of noise doing it. You will arrive home with way more than you needed but that’s just another excuse to come back ;)
Awesome as always. I was surprised they knew who I was without my speaking and with a mask. The fellow helping me was great. He helped with everything. Toilet, cupboards, countertop with a built in sink all done in blue glass. He was patient and so kind. He was also very calming as I was so excited with finding everything. What an awesome employee. He's a keeper. I love this store and was so happy to find them open. Thanks for everything.
Love this place! If you are a DIY lover this is the place for you! They have a full variety of materials you can use to redo any room. Since it's like the home depot version of a goodwill store, you can bring in whatever you are pulling out of your house to get rid of it and let someone else use it for their repair protect. They do not take scraps, so make sure whatever you bring in is in decent condition.
This place is just awesome. I can’t believe it took me this long to find it. They’ve got anything you could ever want for construction, home repairs, old vintage stuff, and all for dirt cheap. And a tool loaning program!
Lots of cool people hanging around and working there as well, there’s always something interesting going on. Highly recommend!
The staff are NOT welcoming... And I have been there several times. (Not anymore.) It is difficult to find specific items and or the items price, oh also the "right person" to find the item and or price. Best of luck. I do enjoy shopping local. However I will take my business elsewhere .
Love this place. It's so under utilized by everyone. I don't think people know how inexpensive this place is. I highly recommend check here first if you are planning any construction, home repair, or maintenance. Good people there too.
This store is so well organized. Makes it very easy to find what you are looking for. Didn't buy anything this time so not sure of the prices. Would definitely go back.
This place is basically a thrift store for hardware and building supplies. Everything is used (obviously), but you'd be hard pressed to find the same items at that price point.
This is probably one of the BEST ideas I've seen in a long time. You can get the parts/supplies you need for a repair or improvement, while simultaneously preventing these items from ending up in a landfill.
It's a win-win all around :).
I love the concept of the store and using recycled materials, however my experience with this store was poor. I found a lot of the items were overpriced. Lets be honest, most of this stuff is junk and creative people, like myself, can find cool new ways to use it. I found most of the junk in this store was not priced accordingly. A lot of the items were barely below retail. If I can go buy something brand new for 10-20 bucks more vs. something that is well used there is a good chance I'll go for the new item on things like fixtures, sinks, etc. I did buy some reclaimed lumber, which I bought because of the old look. However, at checkout I proceeded to make several trips out to my truck with my new purchase while several employees and their buddies stood nearby talking about their weekend plans. Overpriced junk and a lazy staff......I will be hard pressed to go back to this place.
