The treasures that can be found here are diverse. The prices are fair and often generous. If you appreciate up-cycling and recycling building materials, this should be your first stop.
Waste Less Works did a wonderful job of providing carpet for our shelter. They donated enough carpet for us to finish our hallways. Its owner, Martin, was especially gracious and courteous to us. We couldn't recommend them more highly.
What a great company and staff. They went out of their way to help my Daughter when she was in a tough situation and was in need of a new front door. Highly recommend them. They have a huge selection of things to choose from for you home projects at great prices.
Great place to go to for materials to save some money and the planet at the same time. Organized nicely and the employees at the yard were very helpful. Recommended!
I had a fantastic experience buying materials from Waste Less Works. Martin was knowledgeable and helpful, assisting me with selecting, prepping, loading, and coordinating the availability/pricing of materials I was searching for. Highly recommended working with this eco-conscious, Missoula business whose goal is to reduce waste in the build industry!
AMAZING folks--can't recommend them enough. I needed lots of assistance with a demo and they immediately came to help, did a great job (doing everything and exactly what was requested), and were both professional and enjoyable. And to know the materials won't just end up in the landfill makes me feel good, since that wouldn't have been the case without them.

An excellent place for large timbers, lumber for concrete forms, and sometimes pressure treated wood. Don't go expecting home depot. They have what they have, and if it's what you need, you're in luck. I've always found the prices fair, and the help helpful.
Very unsafe conditions he’s willing to put employees in. The owner lacks the ability to do anything but his way, even if he’s putting others at risk or losing money in the process.
Honestly the lack of care martin has towards employees and customers is wild.
Bonuses that are supposed to be given to employees seem to always disappear when the time comes to pay what was promised.
He’s willing to use anyone to make a buck. And I’m not even sure how the yard is even legal… it’s not run legally.
Nor are his job sites.
Professional crew that took meticulous care to mitigate dust during a dirty basement demolition. Preserved materials well for future use. Job was finished ahead of schedule and under budget.
Love this place. Can get great lumber and know I’m doing right! PS reviewers: as someone who has worked in reclamation, I can assure you the prices are justified. Every stick of wood has to be removed, transported, denailed, sorted and stored. That stuff is SUPER expensive to do. So please- cut these guys a break!
We’ve gone here three times to try to purchase something and walked away empty handed every time. Prices are way too high! They are charging way more than half the cost of new for stuff they got for free or got paid to remove. The place is a mess! Broken glass, stacks of broken parts, etc... everywhere. Definitely wear solid boots and be careful. Smells like rot, because things are sitting there rotting, because the prices are ridiculous.
Your hours are not great. those are banking hours. I wish you were open on the weekends, at least a saturday. Ill never be able to come into the store for materials.

Waste Less Works is deconstructing a home in my neighborhood and we cannot believe how neat the project area is. They show up every day, work a full day and the fact that a lot of these materials will be repurposed is pretty awesome.
Waste Less Works is a wonderland of STUFF! Remember when stuff was made to last?! That's the stuff they've got. 100% of their inventory would be forgotten in a landfill right now if they hadn't stepped in to salvage it. Deconstruction and material recovery help us towards a more sustainable future! Their yard is OVERFLOWING with solid, built to last materials at a fraction of the cost. Antiques, commercial kitchen gear, doors, toilets, and pieces of Missoula history! Way more building materials than Home Resource and better prices most of the time. A terrific place to hunt for treasure or come directly to the yard guys, they know their stuff. If you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of Abby, the fastest, cutest rabbit-chasing junkyard dog in the West. Worth the trip.
I think they definitely have some great items, but it is a muddy mess in there. Wear your boots. The pricing on the reclaimed wood was a little high in my opinion. I have gotten some reasonable deals there though and the staff was very helpful.
