Did my reset here purchased $400.00 in fuel and about $30.00 in food etc. I do not have their loyalty card. I asked the guy if I can get a shower after I fuel up. He said yeah. I fueled ,parked went in got my receipt he says $20,00 i said I just bought $400.00 in fuel. I'm sorry we don't do that here you can use points towards a shower. I DON'T HAVE THAT CARD! I have to charge you. That's how I am starting my week off. Stupid! Won't be back no driver appreciation enjoy your 20 bucks. What a joke, you know because we don't have it hard enough out here as is!
Great small truck stop. Reminds me of the old days in trucking.
Has showers (no toilets inside), clean restrooms and a gas station store. Wish they had a diner, this is almost criminal they don’t have one here.
I have stopped here at least 3 times in past 5 years. Plenty of parking not a good food selection. Every time there is rude person working behind that counter as if they’re searching for a confortation with me ! I don’t know whether they’re rascist or just evil! Whatever the case is I will not stop there ever again!
Went to the Subway sandwich shop there. Very nice associates,sandwich was good, not the best I've ever had though. Chicken was a bit dry on the Garlic chicken sub, and didn't have a lot of flavor
Expired food, trash all over the parking lot and in front of entrances. Inside was dirty and smelled even dirtier. Only 1 cashier assisting customers, long wait. Purchased a pint of Buttershots Schnapps a couple weeks ago, Cashier had to clean the bottle off first because of the dirt on it. When I opened it I got dried sugar crystal's everywhere because the stuff was so old. I got sick from expired cheese combos, I have stomach and health issue's so eating this made me very sick. I expressed my concerns via e-mail to their website requesting a response back which I have not received. I guess as long as they are getting a paycheck they don't care about their customers. I do not recommend going to Tulip City Truck Stop, unless you want poor service and expired dirty product.
Clean showers plenty of elbow room fresh coffee every time i stop here. Not a fan of the frozen breakfast sandwich to microwave and yes free truck parking.
This has become one of my stops in and out of town. People are friendly and helpful. Wish they had More food available for quick food. Not much hot food at all. It's been years since I was in restaurant next door but can't remember how it was. Usually don't have time for a sit down meal there.
This was a great alternative to the big place next door. Subway was ....well subway, but they do sell unique things inside like soap etc. The subway is NOT connected to the store itself and has a separate entrance. Also, they never touched the parking lot after the last ice storm a few days earlier so we ice skated all the way inside. Salt isn't crazy expensive, would have been nice to be able to walk on the parking lot. Much of the semi parking was inaccessible because the spots were too icy to back in to. Over all a good night's sleep.
Don't expect any good food from here. The hot is gone and not replaced after 6:30pm. Subway is disgusting as we saw a pallet full of buckets with Subway name on them full of food behind the building just sitting outside in the elements. The place is a sh*thole. I bought a cold ready made sandwich only because I was starving and was sick all night. Horrible place.
Not the Great little truck stop it was 20 or 25 years ago, OK if your just looking for a place to park. Restaurant and Chicken takeout were both closed had to walk over to Speedway next door to get something to eat (subway was open, but who wants another subway sandwich) its nice to find a place that has something besides Subway I wish they had been open!!
Very nice stay! The prices are whole lot better than pilot or loves oh, and the clerks were very polite. Also the food is delicious! Nice job at the Tulip City truck stop
They get a good amount of service. I am a former employee, they don't clean those shiwers or restrooms as frequently as they should, I feel as though they only hire people that look a certain way and if u dont they do whatever they can to run you out of their family business. I was constantly shorted on my checks after helping get champs chicken up and running. I feel that I was discriminated against. There was only two African American people that worked there, now there are none.
Good place for fuel and food. More services that you would think. New fried Chicken is good. Gasoline spots for cars is a little small, but easy in and out.
Plenty of Parking!!! I've found a new place to stay when I'm in the area. No more Pilot for me. Tulip City has a wonderful selection of food and beverages.
The cashier (Clarissa) was awesome. She had a very rude female customer that was so impatient and yet Clarissa remained polite and professional.
We have a very large motor home. It is easy to gas up and get what we need. We also blend in with the trucks quit well when we need a rest. Staff is always amazing. Always clean. This is a very well ran company. We love them all.
Awesome food selection!! They even have Chinese food early in the morning for all of u late night drivers. Clean bathrooms and showers. Good truck parking. Country cooking restraunt next door. Fair prices and good friendly customer service. Will definitely be back.
Most people forget there is a subway there, was fast, and no body else there. Over all was great! (Just dont know how fresh the food was cause the lack of customers) otherwise would be 5 stars.
I enjoy stopping here. They have done a bit of upgrading, and it looks decent. Champs Chicken is now serving up grub here, and the people I saw getting food there seemed satisfied. They have a decent drink selection, as well as alcohol/wine. One of my guilty pleasures when I travel this far north as trying out various snack sticks and cheese curds. This place has a great selection of both.
The staff here make you feel welcome as soon as you come in the door. Clean facilities, clean fuel, and they've got what drivers need. My favorite area is Champs Chicken, there's no doubt that the regular chicken dishes are going to be good, but the Asian chicken choices take it over the top for taste. Hugs for Jesse, the young man who has now got me hooked in the Sesame and Gen Tsos.
This is a great place to stop. They have a Subway restaurant as well as hot food during the day. It's not your typical burgers in foil bags and roller dogs but real food like Chinese entrees. They also have a Transport for Christ Chapel on the lot.
Be aware that it's illegal to make a left turn when exiting the truck stops, you must exit at the traffic light when turning left.
Living right across the road is a blessing. I stop here almost everyday before work and have always been met with great customer service. They have a vast variety of products including frozen items and hot food as well. They are also a J&H Family store so they do participate in the J&H rewards program. Lots of items count towards points which get you a percentage off of gas.
Nice and clean on the inside, a huge variety to select from as far as cold sandwiches, slices of pie, cheese as well as the usual truck stop drinks and amenities. Parking lot is a little trashy but what can you say. Shares a parking lot with a truck wash, a repair shop, Subway , has a scale and the restaurant on property is no longer in business , there is a truck dealership and has quite a few cement barriers so if you're not familiar with the parking lot don't come barreling in here, use some caution. If you don't like this place there is also a pilot a half a block away
Pretty nice old timey truck stop. From far away it doesn't look like much. But it's well stocked and clean in the store. Huge parking lot. Prefer it to the Pilot next door. Coffees good, too. It's got character. Try it and you'll be surprised. Staff is great. Now, if they just had beer.
This is one of my favourite places to stop at. The restaurant is not attached to the truck stop but a few feet away from the main building. Truck stop is pretty clean, old style and they provide good merchandise for good non inflated prices. People working here have always been courteous and very helpful. Part of Roady's. They also have a Subway attached to the building.
Basic T/S...has a Subway open till 2300. Cafe on other end open during the day, not bad. Room for maybe 80-120 trucks. Pilot up the road fills up quickly....also very small 5-6 trk parking on other side of I196 at Mickey D's.
