Bought a 2021 567 Peterbilt from them last summer. Took it to my shop to have our company mechanic inspect it which it failed due to kingpin issues brought it back and told Boyd about it and he asked if I still wanted I replied yes but it will not pass a D.O.T. inspection he said dont worry about it. A week later I had new kingpin and bushings and new batteries for it would barely start. That was a 100k miles I'm runnin strong. 9.5 times out of 10 a review is written to complain. Not at all the case here. He hooked me up with a lender and was approved about 20 hrs after I filled out the application. Ill definitely buy my next truck from here. Im very great to the Preferred Team.
Tom was a great salesman. I bought a 2016 Freightliner Coronado back in October 2025. Everything was as pictured and discussed. I went over the truck for about an hour and no problems. I did the test drive and it drove like a dream. I’ve been driving the truck since and I can honestly say I am happy with my purchase. I highly recommend buying from Tom. Very up front and honest individual during my experience.
I bought a truck from these guys in May, that was advertised as clean and with a new one box. This truck has been nothing but trouble. First problem, coolant in the fuel. Took it to freightliner to do an oil change and they saw coolant in the fuel filters. 5000$ for that repair. Tom helped me with that repair with 2000$ after i wrote a negative review with the condition that i remove the review. Ok, put it work and a week in, it was in derate and needed a forced regen. Forced regen wouldnt complete and the mechanics had to replace the egr actuator. 2000$ for a new egr actuator, 1500$ to check the MCM, 2000$ for egr valve, 3000$ for a new turbo, 2000$ for new bushings on front suspension, 1500$ for new egr cooler, 2500$ for new nox sensors, and right now this truck is at freightliner who are in contact with the engineers at freightliner to resolve the issue. I spoke to Tom to tell him about all these issues and he pretty much just laughed in my face and told me theres nothing he would do about a unit sold 6 months ago with no warrenty. Ive been able to put 30,000 miles on this truck in time ive had it and rest of the time it has been down for repairs.
This is the worst experiance ive ever had with a purchase. Tom is completely unhelpful and rude about this. Ill be getting lawyers involved to help me with this.

I drove 6 hours to pick up a rolloff wrecker and it couldn’t have been represented any better! Boyd was great to do business with. They were super helpful in showing me how it worked and even went the extra step and loaded and tied down my vehicle, that I drove over, on the roll back! I wouldn’t hesitate to business again with Boyd!
I've bought a lot of trucks and trailers over the past 25 years of being an owner operator. And I never had such a good experience as I had here. Tom took great care of us, and we got a beautiful truck at a great price! Will definitely be back.
Bought a truck and they repainted over all the rust spots and at the end of my trip it was pouring out oil at the end of this trip it costed me over 5,000$ just to get home after all the repairs I advise everyone not to buy from them !!!!

I purchased a 2016 Peterbilt 579 from Tom the end of October. Full disclosure I live in SC and did not go look at truck in person and paid $1250 to have it delivered. The truck information on truck paper stated new 22.5 rubber, 80" bunk. When it arrived it was a 72" bunk and had new 24.5 recap drives with a tread that should have been on a dump truck not a road tractor. Also when it arrived the pickup the driver towed down had oil all over bumper which was from my oil filter that I spun by hand and had coolant leak under bunk which was all overside fairing. Also needed a carrier bearing but that's normal wear. I fixed coolant leak, tightened oil filter, replaced carrier bearing, and swapped my 22.5 from my old truck to new. Over all I love the truck now and am happy with it but just wish Tom would post accurate details on a truck that someone is dropping $45k on site unseen but guess that's my fault. I would say buy a truck from Preferred just make sure truck details are correct
