Scam shop. Had my car in for brakes to be redone all the way around, was told my rear calipers were seized and needed to be replaced aswell. Fast forward a few months and my brake pedal was pushing all the way to the floor, had a different shop do a brake bleed to correct issue which seemed to fix the problem for another week or so before the brakes went spongey again. Took it back to the shop that bled them and they found a leak in the right rear caliper at the piston which what was pulling the air in. Mechanic also mentioned that neither of my rear calipers look to be within a year old. Beware of this shop they charge you for parts and labor they do not actually do.
Nick i would like to clarify something first
I did contact your shop, I called about having the brake system properly bled during that call i specifically mentioned that i had the brakes done all the way around at your shop including replacement of the rear calipers i asked if you had the scan tool needed to cycle the abs system for a proper brake bleed and was told the shop did not have that tool and it wasn't necessary, during that same call i also mentioned that the brake work had been done last winter and i was told that it had been too long ago because of that i ended up taking the vehicle to another shop that could perform the abs bleed. the bleed did improve the pedal at first but when the issue came back they inspected further and found a leak at the piston of the right rear caliper
reading your response now about the 2 year 24000 mile warranty it sounds like the repair still would have been covered why wasn't this mentioned during the call why was i told it was too long ago and my sponegy brakes weren't related to my brake work done there?
Told them I wanted a timing belt replacement on a 1996 Geo Metro, my boyfriends car that I replaced and inspected the seals replaced the water pump tensioner and such on just got shorted the belt part on rock auto and put the old timing belt in and it snapped. Kinda just feeling lazy honestly takes a hour maybe two max that’s on me. They tried to quote me a new motor first, told them it’s non interference, tried to sell me the entire kit for 1.3k for a car that’s so old and simple. Told them I worked on it just needs a belt still said it would be 200?!? To LOOK AT IT. Talked me like with misogyny like I was some dumb woman on the phone they could scam. Had his geo towed outta there! it’s like they don’t want money or something the way they talk to people. Never towed a car away from a shop so fast.
100% would recommend this shop to anyone needing work done. Professional, HONEST and knowledgeable. Joel is an asset to this company, I hope they know what a true gem they have in him.
These guys are great, removed my balance beads after being talked into them from a "big name store" and did a traditional balance job on my truck. Hasn't drove like this since it was new. Fair price for Great Work and excellent customer service. Ill never take my truck anywhere else going forward!! Keep up the great work Dewey's team!
I contacted Dewey's New Year's Eve when my car started making a grinding sounds. They were able to take a look at it the next business day and completed the repairs by midday the following day. I imagine the shop may have celebrated when my car left the premises because it was not an easy job. The staff did a great job of keeping us in the know and walked us through the issues and repairs in a clear and concise manner. We will gladly do business with them again if the need arises.
If you are a Fenton resident, Dewey’s is a MUST! I have been taking my vehicles to Dewey’s for 16 years! They have always been extremely honest with me when I would bring in my 2001 Windstar that was a rust bucket and always needing repairs. At the time, I couldn’t afford a new car, even though they’d let me know it may not be worth the repair investment. I appreciate that honestly instead of other places trying to squeeze every penny out of you, especially being a woman. I know bring my Journey to them for any and all repairs, from oil changes to massive repairs. I trust them to fix it right the first time and give me a fair price! It’s hard to find a trustworthy mechanic but when you do find one, do not let them go! I will continue to take my business to Dewey’s so long as Nick and Joel continue to be there! Support your local business!
They've been great to work with and Joel has been on top of the situation since we got the car towed there. Pricing seems fair for what's being done and a very reasonable timeframe. I will use them again for sure!
Joel was most helpful. I was frustrted trying to get a light turned off. He figured out it was how it was reset. Turn the car on but not the engine on, then reset the the light. That did it. He was good enought to take the time to explain it. He gave me the instructions to do it myself. Terrific service!

They are incompetent or just plain crooked - not sure which. They charged me $2100+ for repairs to a 2012 Escape that only 2 months later was deemed, by another garage, "unsafe to drive" due to extensive rust.
When I submitted a review on their website, describing what they did, it doesn't show up on their site. Do not trust this place.

The General Manager of Deweys contacted me after reading my review, and offered his sincere apology for my frustration. He offered his perspective, and seemed genuine in his concerns. We ended our conversation on a positive note. He reminded me we are all human, and sometimes honest mistakes happen. Next time I will reach out to the service provider, regardless how frustrated I am, and give them a chance to make things right - as Deweys did - before posting a negative review.
Dewey's is always very professional, reasonable prices, and they know what they're doing. They will get you back on the road. A very solid shop in Fenton.
I set an appointment 2 weeks out since that's how far their scheduling. Drove an hour and a half to this location. And then was told that my appointment didn't exist, I wouldn't be able to wait for my vehicle, and it would be at least $600 for a simple sunroof repair. They also said that they would have to have it for at least 2 days mind you my sunroof had been leaking for 3 weeks now. I told him I didn't appreciate them insinuating that I made up an appointment and the lady at the desk got really irritable with me. Then the man behind the counter also let me know that to get the sunroof parts it would have to be exactly from the same vehicle same trim same door style. But when I checked the GM parts website, the same website he was on. It showed five or six other vehicle trims and models that would be applicable for this repair I wouldn't touch this business with a 10-ft pole.
I have been taking my car there a couple years and they seem to be honest and fair. Prices always seem to be a little higher then I think they should be but they don't seem to always be telling you to do a million other things extra to spend more money so I appreciate that. Mechanically they are very knowledgeable can't seem to find the problem quickly and they try to be as quick as they can to get the job done. I have had two call in advance to make sure that they don't need to hold my car for a week. Great service have the counter and they're very good about communicating where they're at in the process and what they found as they find it. They're easy to get in and out of and and in a convenient location for me. I would think it would be easy for most people to find. I do recommend Dewey's all the basic automotive and tire repair and replacement services that they do. Thank you
The one guy in there named nick, was really a rude guy. The way he talked was condescending and unprofessional. Had a sneer on his face the whole time. Not the kind of person you would not want to deal with. I cant believe they let him work there.
Took my car in on a appt and the guy standing outside said i couldn't stay with my car unless i had a appt I said I did than says they dont do those for 2 weeks it took 2 weeks to get in and said I had to wait all day if I would of known this i would of set up a ride home instead I had to walk 2 miles home and when I called after my husband said it was supposed to be looked at at 8am the lady said no it was a drop off appt cuz her best mechanic was in on that day but later on what you dont trust your other mechanics

Took my truck to Deweys june 2019, left it with him as i was having back surgery done. The work estimate was much different than the work that was done, inner and outer tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, front struts, rear axle seals, brake calipers, upper and lower ball joints, Dewey said he would have the alignment done and that was expressed on bill and receipts, i did not drive the vehicle till november 2019 after recovery from back surgery, , drivers side rear axle seal leaking horribly, stab link bushings are shot, horrible toe wear on both front tires i do not believe an alignment was done at all and i am disappointed in the quality of work perfomed at Deweys shop...

We were working with a competitor of Dewey's Auto Center on our company dump truck. After several failed attempts to fix our truck we decided to bring it to Dewey's. They were able to properly diagnose the problem, repair it with integrity and the work was done quickly so the truck was back on the road making money . Thank you Dewey's.
Amazing customer service. Called there hoping they'd have the correct coolant for a diesel bus, and be willing to sell it. While they didn't have it stocked, they called over to a local store, confirmed they had a good solution available, and provided me the info. That says a world about who they are and how they operate, and should send you in their direction!
They are always reasonable, they are upfront about their costs and will always recommend someone else if they can't do something. They are highly honest people that I have been going to for years. Do they cost a little bit more then national chains? Yes. Do you get the assurance that the work is going to be spot on every time? Yes. This local shop is well worth it.
I previously frequency big box Tire Companies where I would wait around to get a low price on a much cheaper tire. And at the end they hit me with an estimate to replace every suspension component on my vehicle. Dewey's has been around since I can remember so I stopped in after ordering some tires I was in and out and I was not pressured to be up sold on anything they were very professional and quick. They brought 2 things to my attention that I knew were wrong and I will definitely return to take care of them. I now have a great high mileage Tire that rides great and is quiet. And don't worry you will get a very good price!
I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dewey's. They have good turnaround time and they've always been straight with me on pricing. Highly recommend.
Was given a quote of 3100 dollars to replace of 4 struts and springs
Asked for a breakdown and all parts prices were doubled from the dealer !!!!!
Took the car to the dealer who told me the front struts and springs were ok but the car needed only the rear ones done: total cost was 1200 dollars !!!!

I had a flat tire and they were super cool about fixing it quick and getting me on the road. Plus they have a gorgeous retriever in the office who loves people!
Although it has been a couple years since I have been to them (thankfully), Dewey's is and will be my first call when I am in need of auto repairs or service. They have demonstrated integrity and think about customer service in a bigger picture.
For example, a friend of mine did my brakes and accidentally unfasten a brake line introducing air. He had to bleed the line and fill my brake fluid. He accidentally filled my power steering instead of my brake fluid reservoir. This was the last time I had a friend do my brakes. I called Dewey's to see what I can do. Instead of having me come in, they gave me instruction how to flush out my system. They forewarned me I would probably end up having to replace my power steering pump because of the corrosion, but told me to try this before spending any money. I think that is a testament to their integrity. They weren't looking for a "sale"; their goal was to develop trust in a hopeful long standing relationship. It may seem simple, but those things matter to me.
These guys are somewhat honest, but not. I was quoted $800 on a catalytic converter job. I went somewhere else got it done for a little over $200 and they did a good job. So what gives with these guys? Overpriced like most things in Fenton.
