I think it’s time to find a new recycler they have recently sold. It is a new company now I feel like my vehicle weight was skewed and the material I just sold them should have been number one cast instead they paid me for TIN which pays a heck of a lot less as shred metal but topped it off. I’m at the bank to cash my check and now I’ve gotta wait an hour before I can go through the damn checkout line because they make you wait right down to the hour it’s on the check that I must wait until after 10 o’clock they could’ve at least pointed that out to me at the checkout window
This is such a great business to have in a community. I was glad to see it when we first moved here.

I've been coming here for years with my aluminum cans, and normally I'd give this place at least three stars (one more on top of that if it wasn't for that snooty, pouty brunette 20-nothing girl who *was* behind the cash-out window...who thankfully isn't there anymore [?] ). But here lately there's been issues with the scales out front where the cans are lifted up the ramp---it doesn't read the weight. The Hispanic guy who processed my cans today apparently told Mike--the shop foreman--that he estimated the weight at 10 (!!) pounds...WHAT?? I always bring *two* LARGE bags full of aluminum cans which I've collected over several months, and it's ALWAYS between 15-17 pounds on average. I mentioned this to Mike when he told me what the guy had "estimated", and so he offered to give me 15 pounds instead. Well, ok, but I'm still sure I didn't get my full recompense for the cans I brought. So I don't know if I'll be back...there are other recycling centers in town...
They gave me a dollar for an old computer, 20 pounds. These people are well aware of the amount of copper and silver inside of these things.
Ive gotten more money from two 50 gallon bags of aluminum cans
Don’t take cans here, you dump them into a conveyor, which is then dumped into a giant cage full of other peoples cans, and you don’t know the starting weight. Won’t happen again
The girls in the office are slow af!! Everyone who come here, they are in there yaling and not paying attention to the line of people at the window. They need a better system to drop off small quantities instead of having to take steel around the building, get re-weighed then take cans around to the other side of the building. They also need an intercom so you can weigh and go on instead of having to walk from the scales to the office twice then go back to the office after your cans are weighed. Ridiculous!!! People have better things to do than spending 2 hours at the scrap yard for something that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. If they can figure it out in Alabama why not here??
Nice people. The prices on metal scrap not as good as the other local yards and there resale building needs to be organized and basic cleaning used. I left with my hands black and only looked at a few things but had to wander into other rooms off the main 2 rooms to see everything.. Made me want to go home and wash everything.
These people are out to make a killing, not a living. They gave me 7 bucks for a 115 pound air conditioner unit made of aluminum and copper. i would recommend going to Taylor's junk yard. i had some car batteries one time and Self wouldn't even take em, Taylors gave me 35 bucks for them! How much i figured id get off this old AC but they're just out to rip people off.
