A little packed, and I couldn't remember how to find the cashier to get paid but the lady was really nice and I made around $65 for some old aluminum that blew down from the storm
Please note make sure your aluminum is clean,
Meaning no screws, no wood no nothing
I worked on mine for awhile cutting and getting it ready and the guy said he sees some screws in a few pieces so all of it was considered dirty,
Meaning they don't pay as much.
Only aluminum would have made me more money.
Still made cash from stuff I would have put by the road for trash
Very honest. No games subtracting weight from scale total. Like a neighbor of theirs does by just pulling a number from who knows where. Gregco will allow you to weigh your items and let you take them somewhere else to help keep the other companies honest. Never had a problem at Gregco. Maybe get Earl to smile.
This place truly doesn't deserve any star. They are a scam and will steal your money. My husband and I just left there today and will never ever return.So I called earlier in the day and the women who answered the phone, said stainless steel price was at $.44 for clean and $.34 dirty. We took in 325lbs of stainless steel and they bought it as mixed steel not stainless and gave us $30.88 which is nothing even close to the $110 that we are rightfully owed. Times are hard these days and with my husband working by the job and myself currently out of work, we need every penny that we can get. I'm so upset and angry and I suggest if your gonna go to a scrapyard, drive right past this place bc they will take advantage of you whenever and wherever they can.
Staff is always helpful and will even take the time to explain the difference in metals and how to prep it to get the most out of your scrap. Only complaint is I've gotten a nail/screw in my tire twice while visiting. The main drive could be better kept.
They give you the best prices for number one and number two copper. Don't go anywhere else on that strip all the rest are rip offs.You leave with cash here up the road they give you an ATM card to go throw in some machine that is broke down.
By far the best place anywhere around. Honest and well-established business and you are in and out in no time . You can tell a good company by how.long the employees stay with them and this place seems.to keep them around for years. Very respectful people and maintain a safe work place.
Adam is one of the best workers there, even at his age! He's always pleasant to the customers, will take on any job, and does what he's told without complaining.
I went there had 664 pounds of extrusion that was supposed to be $1.35 a pound and I found a screw that broke and a piece of rubber and paid me $.53 a pound rob me for $400 I will never go back again no help from the employees unloading it all myself pulling it up there my self just not a place you wanna go to.664 pounds of aluminum you’re gonna have a broken screw or piece of rubber left on it you just expect that nobody’s perfect the only one that was perfect they crucified him
This place was pretty good when they first opened. But seems to have become somewhat shady! Called yesterday for price of aluminum cans, was told .80/lb, took 140 lb of cans the next day and they only paid .60/lb. Plus they weighed truck and cans on bulk drive through scale. The scale only reads in 20 lb increments! Think I will go somewhere else next time!!
Inconsisitant pricing. One day they want to buy your scrap as alumium wire at .49 cents per pound. The next day with more of the same wire they say its steel at .09 cents a pound. I was happy with them, now i find that they are ripping people off.
I love this recycling plant. Fair price always. The employees are awesome people and work hard. But the best part every time I go I ask for them to pick stuff up with the giant claw machine and crush it and they do and it's FREAKING spectacular. Love it. They always pay for my kids Christmas. Recycling pays!!
My experience was well worth the trip. Employee's were fast, courteous and did their job right. Thank you Rocky and crew...we'll be back with our scrap.
I've done a lot of business with gregco over the years and is the only scrap yard I bring my end of the road cars and other scrap items. Fair prices and I'm usually in and out pretty fast. Most of the employees are super friendly and help if needed. I'll be coming back again and again
I've been going here for years. It's clean, everyone is helpful but Fernando is fabulous, he will help you with what ever you need and anwser any questions you might have. This will always be my go to scrap place.
Best place to scrap in Polk county. It's been 2 years since I brought anything in and it's the same system Its great the workers are helpful and even unload your stuff. Unlike the other 2 nearby. Friendly staff I wouldnt recommend anywhere else.

My first time dropping some copper off, and no help unloading it. They also lost my three 50 gallon drums. I hear there service is normally better. Others I work with said they always unload for them, and are very helpful. Besides that, every thing else went real well. Place seemed Nicly organized.
I've never scrapped metal before but I had to prep and clear my dad's property for sale. My dad has been a collector of scrap for many years and it really piled up. The staff at Gregco were extremely pleasant, helpful and informative, from the office staff to the gentleman that greeted me when I pulled up to the men at the far end of the field that helped me unload the trailer we're AMAZING. They made this first time experience for me very easy. I'll never go anywhere else in the future and I will recommend Gregco to everyone I know. Thanks.
Love the kids that work out there they are very helpful and courteous...everyone is fast they get you in and out great prices the only thing I will say is check your weight receipt for the tare weight as they have made mistakes a few times adding 16 lbs. when my container was only 4...they will fix it if you catch it right away : )
