Needed some parts for my Honda outboard. Called them up and told them what I was trying to do and they came up with the parts list for me. They are very detailed oriented. They supplied every little O-ring and gasket that I needed. They even threw in a schematic. They are now my go to for Honda outboard parts.
This is the first time I have ever writing a review but I felt compelled to do so solely because of how the owner of Mystic River has responded to my complaint and how she responded to me.
In September 2022 one of my twin 150 Honda engines started running badly. There are not many marina's in my area that work on Hondas but MR does. I had never used them before for service but had purchased parts many times from Lauren who runs the parts, and manages the marina. I had always had a wonderful experience, she is very knowledgeable. I brought my boat to them in early Sept.2022. Dave is the service manager. As it turned out my engine needed a new Head but Dave also told me I needed it to be completely disassembled and all internal parts cleaned and checked. The engine repair was not completed until Dec. 2022 despite being told many times it would be ready much sooner. By this time my relationship with the service department had deteriorated. The delays lasted into the cold weather and despite being told my boat was protected it was not winterized while sitting there in the freezing cold and subsequently my lines froze and ruined one of my pump motors which I did not discover until the following spring. When I picked up my boat in Dec. 2022 I was assured that the engine was thoroughly checked, cleaned and reassembled with new parts where needed. The total repair was just under $7,000.
I barely used the boat in 2023 and put only about 12 hrs on it.
I launched the boat in June 2024 and within 2 hrs of use the engine literally blew apart . One of the piston rod wrist pins (which was removed, checked and reassembled) had let go and the result were holes so large in my engine I could fit my hand into the center.
I chose not to return to MR marina service. I acquired a used engine and paid my new Honda mechanic to install it and within one week was back on the water.
I contacted Lauren with the details of my experience along with photos of my engine including the piece of the piston rod that I literally reached into the side of the engine and retrieved and a request for some reimbursement for their service which I felt was faulty . I asked Lauren to please do the right thing and help me defray the costs that I encountered even tough the repair dated back to 12/22 and the engine failure was 6/24.
A company is only as good as its leadership. Anyone can make a mistake. It's not what happens that's as important as what you do about it and Lauren called me and agreed to help defray some of my expenses as I had requested. She handled this situation with compassion and ethics and I am very happy to write this review to tell my story.
Recently we lost an engine and had no idea what was wrong. We limped back to our home marina .. Mystic River and their mechanics Ron met us at the dock. He did all kinds of tests and discovered it was a water pump. The part was ordered, overnighted and installed within a few days time. The crew, the management and all employees went above and beyond to get us up and running. We can’t thank them enough! Great group of caring people!
At the marina is a restaurant called Kitchen Little. while I don't know much about the Marina itself, Kitchen Little is not to be missed

Great staff and local boaters. Good breakfast/ lunch restaurant on site with a Marine Store. Laundry room and lounge room with a ping pong table. Great swimming pool!!
We docked our boat here from 1980 to 1997. So many awesome memories and friendships were made here. Excellent views of the Mystic River. The facilities and staff are excellent. This marina has its own unique charm that is hard to describe if you haven’t been there. I’m hoping that one day I’ll have my own boat and should that day come, I’ll again dock it at Mystic River Marina. No other place could have offered me such an awesome childhood.
Went here for the Chicken little restaurant. They have a lot of dock to walk around on so you can get close to river.
Other than the river nothing else to do.
Very clean and friendly staff. On a busy river but the water calms down in time for bed if your sleeping on the boat. Short car ride into town Mystic where there are great eateries and shops.

On my first trip on my boat for the summer today and I broke down on the Mystic River. Luckily I was right in front of the Mystic River Marina. The wind blew me into their fuel dock. The dock master John was incredibly helpful and allowed me to tie up until I was towed back to my marina. I can not say enough about how the staff made a really bad day bearable. Based on this experience I would not hesitate to make them my home marina.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Its beautiful! And you know what makes it extra beautiful? Going in October when only a fraction of the people are there compared to the summer. Good times...
Quant location beautiful scenery of the water and old rustic homes. Some of the homes downtown have history information posted near the home indicating how old they are who used to live there.
I absolutely love this marina Lauren and everyone up there is extremely nice and very easy to work with. I order parts from them constantly and they alway have eactly what I need or the get it with 2 -3 days for ordering. Very reasonable pricing. Highly encourage to shop here.
