I purchased bio bricks from them, not only that they were dollar more then other ACE and big y stores the package was green on the outside and they do not burn well at all. So here is the big question.... How are these bio bricks?????

Kind of annoying to get here at 4:40pm (hour a twenty minutes before closing) and they have decided to close at 4:30 even though closing time is 6pm.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Nice selection includes some gift and kitchen items in addition to hardware, paint, etc.

Make extra car key, then ended up buying other stuff I realized I needed. The 2 young men working there were pleasant and helpful! Thats a win in my book.

Awesome service. In and out with propane refill. Friendly staff and willing to help.

Good people and selection, pricey but they have what you need.

I try to support local business when I can. I brought in a defective sprinkler. They didn't even check it to see what was wrong just too bad for me. I'm out $35. I have purchased many things from them in the past but no more. The $10 or so they lost by not giving me a replacement cost them my business and I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go there. local HD would have just reimbursed me or given me a replacement.

Ace Hardware has done a really good job countering the trend toward big box stores. They have everything needed for housewares and hardware. Assistance is readily available, and the prices are very reasonable.

Date 08/01/2025 Outstanding Customer Service at Katz Ace Hardware Glastonbury I am beyond amazed by the incredible customer service I received at Katz Ace Hardware in Glastonbury today. Honestly, I've never had such a positive retail experience in my life. I was trying to purchase equipment online yesterday but kept running into technical issues on their website and app. When I tried again today, the promotional deal I was after had ended. Disappointed, I decided to visit the store in person. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Karl. I explained the situation to him, and to my absolute surprise, he honored the sale price for me—even though the promotion had expired. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe it. Every time I visit this store, the staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. But today’s experience truly took it to the next level. Because of this kind of service, they’ve earned a lifelong customer—deal or no deal. Highly recommend!

They sent me a welcome to town coupon for $20. I tried to buy a rake and was happy to be able to use my coupon. As a new homeowner funds are tight. The rake that I selected had a sign indicating it was $21.99. It rang up at 29.99. When I pointed out this error they said they forgot to take the sign down. After some discussion they agreed to honor the marked price. Big of them considering it’s the law. Then they told me I couldn’t use my coupon because I already used one. What?? Worst customer service ever. I’ll be shopping at Home Depot from now on

Everyone here is super kind, knowledgeable and helpful - very nice small town hardware store vibes. Its been my go to for all my immediate hardware/speciality needs.

As someone who maintains an older house, having a local hardware store that stocks a great assortment of replacement plumbing parts is a godsend! I was delighted to find it was easy to get online troubleshooting and installation help for installing a replacement toilet valve from one of their suppliers, Lavelle Industries. Too easy!

One of the many reasons why I love Katz ACE Hardware is their customer service and their gift department. I was looking to bring some gifts to family overseas but I needed to be mindful of the weight. I asked Shannon if they could make me a smaller version of a Glastonbury candle they sold in addition to making it in a different scent. I received an email response the next day that the candles would be ready before I left on my trip. Great place to find local Glastonbury gifts!

Great service throughout the store, but today was the paint department. They helped me puck the finish and tweak the color along with use the right paint brush. Always friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help.

Staff was awesome and very helpful. I came in to have my propane tank filled and found out it was passed it's refill date but they were able to replace it and helped me try to recover the adapter to make it compatible with my old barbeque it became more important to me to get it working than to salvage a part and they were very helpful in finding a replacement for that too. Would have been 5 stars but I came in expecting to refill a tank ... last time I did that it was 40 bucks but it's been a very long while today was way more than that but I am grilling chicken today and it's still cheaper than it could have been.

Always a good store with helpful and courteous staff. Very good selection of various home items. Went here because Home Depot didn't have what I needed despite their inventory showing in stock. Katz had multiple choices of the same item. Hooray for Katz!!

This is worlds different then a place like Home Depot. Staff is awesome, available, and knowledgeable (unlike the big box stores). If you need help finding things, have general questions about a product, or need a little help figuring out how to install the thing you are going to buy then this place is the place to go.

I love this place! Every time I needed something they always had it in and in-stock. Yeti Ramblers, had a whole aisle full of Yeti products along with accessories, coolers, and all ramblers. I was able to get a 36oz Yeti Rambler and a 30oz Rambler with straw 20% off. Needed wood chips for my Weber smoker box, had a whole aisle full of Weber products; cleaners, accessories, replacement parts. I ended up getting a mini scrub brush with hickory and mesquite wood chips. Everything is well organized and in place. This is one of my favorite Ace Hardware stores.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was my first and last time at an ACE hardwood store. I just moved to Glastonbury from NY and the experience at this store was subpar. SUPER RACIST employees who look at you from head to toe before answering any questions. I sat at the paint department for about 15 minutes to ask about Lime wash for my bricks. I was given a nasty attitude by the employee at the paint department. He didn’t look like he wanted to be bothered and originally told others that he couldn’t help before giving me a condescending answer and offering minimal help for the products I needed. He did not treat the white gentleman behind me with the same attitude which makes me wonder… if it was just towards me. I thought I was the only one this has happened to but, based on the reviews it clearly has happened to others. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Such a disappointment since I like supporting family owned businesses.

I have been shopping at Katz, sometimes almost weekly for over 35 years. The prices are fair and although the big box store might be cheaper for some items, the great customer service more than makes up for it. I like the way they hire men and women and that they seems to employ students too - a great work experience for them. Plus they offer to carry items out to your car. They usually have plenty of staff to ask for help. And the staff are knowledgeable. This is a great community asset. Miss the popcorn machine but understand with Covid..

Katz will always get my business they’ve got the best customer service around, something which you just dont get at a big box store. Stopped in today after speaking to Morgan on the phone about having a car key cut. He explained everything perfectly and of course did a great job with the key. Thank you Morgan for being so personable and taking the time to go above and beyond what the average person would!

I love this place so much. They have a surprisingly wide variety of products for their size (from potting soil to specialty cabinet screws) and if you happen to be searching for something they don't have on hand, they will gladly order it for you. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. Always a delight to go there. If you're looking for that old school "we gotcha covered" Mom and Pop hardware store experience, this is absolutely the place for you.

I visit Katz regularly and it is always a positive experience. From the paint desk to shopping for a new grill, their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help. I highly recommend you stop in and experience the difference in customer service for yourself! For me there is nothing that inspires customer loyalty moreso than a friendly and helpful staff -- they do so much more than simply direct you to an isle number. Ask questions and you will not be disappointed!

Called on 9-8-2019 had a $3 coupon off a propane tank fill. It had expired 8-30. Asked if they would honor it. They didn't even blink a eye and said no. Not like it was 2 months ago. Filled our tank somewhere else even if it cost more. Likely wont be shopping there anytime soon.
