I’ve used the services of Glastonbury Automotive for a critical auto repair and, just today, for help via a service request through AAA to get my car out of a snowy stuck spot. Special kudos to Mike for the latter! I appreciate being able to trust that services are appropriate and not up-charged, and the candor and friendly approach they provide.
Nicholas helped me with a tow today through AAA. He was so helpful, thorough, and super professional. Great communication, and he was coming from over an hr away but got there timely and right when he said he would. He was careful with my vehicle, where as I've had other tow truck drivers from other companies rush and cut corners causing damage. Polite and on the ball with everything. While still getting the job done quickly he took the time to do it the right way getting the vehicle on and off and even made sure it was a good spot where he unloaded and offered to help jump it again. Ill always use Glastonbury Automotive now as a first choice!
Some of the best tow guys ive ever got to work with. Got myself stuck in a ditch with the lovely snow and they showed up and got the job done in a nearly impossible situation. Thank you is all I can say! Amazing work.
I called AAA for a flatbed tow on Saturday and they sent James from Glastonbury Auto. He was extremely professional and went above and beyond. I needed my car towed out from my garage, and he helped me push it around by hand to get it out. A really nice guy and his help was hugely appreciated.
I needed a tow, called AAA, and the dispatch sent me a tow from Glastonbury Auto. The driver - DJ - was friendly, kind, patient, answered all my questions, and arrived BEFORE the time I was given. I hope I never need a tow again, however, if I do, Glastonbury Auto will be the place I use. Above and Beyond Service - A 5 Star Rating a must.
Glastonbury Automotive is THE BEST shop! Friendly, competent, affordable, and HONEST! They do everything from my oil changes to brake diagnostics/repair. I'd give them 10 stars if I could!
I’ve brought multiple cars to this shop over the past year, and each time, I’ve had the same frustrating experience. They rush through the work, never fully resolving the issue, and their negligence has caused me more headaches than the original problem. Even after confronting them with evidence that the work was incomplete, they refused to take proper accountability.
To make matters worse, their documentation is a complete mess. They take poor notes, so it’s nearly impossible to get a clear record of what’s been done on your car. This is not just my experience; I know several others, including friends, who have had similar issues here.
If you’re looking for a reliable shop that fixes problems and stands behind their work, this is NOT the place. I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
They take advantage of people who aren’t knowledge about cars. You can see other reviews indicating the job wasn’t done correctly the first time as well.
Got my truck towed at a great price and the tow truck driver even helped me push my car into the driveway cause the driveway was to narrow. I appreciate Glastonbury tow a lot.
These guys saved the day. I had a flat tire, no spare and a newborn in the back seat of my car an hour away from home. These guys had my car towed and the tire patch within 2 hours for $175. They turned my disaster of a day completely around, i was so grateful for such good service
Two words: honest and knowledgeable. Didn't do more than necessary and used quality (in my case, Ford) parts. The estimate was accurate, and work was done quickly. Took the time to cover all the scheduled maintenance items and made suggestions on what to do in the future. I used to go to the dealership, but now I'll becoming here
Highly recommend them for towing. Had my an accident and my car was not drive able. One of their guys showed up behind the accident just going to get fuel and he stuck around cleaned up the scene so quick. I was going through my AAA and took a little while to get off the phone but he stuck around for me, made sure I was okay brought my car home as well as myself, very nice guy. Also just had another guy tow my car to the shop. He was there within 10 mins. He also was very nice took the key and did everything great and efficient!

This happened in 2016. My sister and I were driving home during a snow storm and had gotten stuck on a street in between two hills. We called AAA who sent out Glastonbury Automotive. The man that showed up was HORRIBLE. One of the worst customer experiences of my life. He treated us like we were idiots, sat in his tow truck while directing us to drive up the hill (the car would not budge!) he was horribly rude and told us he wouldn’t tow us because “they can’t just tow everyone that decides to drive in snow”. Excuse me? It’s not as if we were out joy riding (even though that shouldn’t even matter, why do we pay for AAA then?!). Not to mention: he could have towed us during the time it took him to sit and watch us try to make it up either hill. He then left us stranded there STILL.
By the grace of God one of my friends with a pick up truck picked up his phone and came out to get us but we had to still leave the car on that street. I was extremely distraught by the whole situation as this man from Glastonbury Automotive was horribly rude and just a horrible, angry person all around. Anyone that has mentioned them to me since this day hears this story and usually chooses another company to go with and I am SO GLAD I am turning business away for them. That situation was incredibly traumatic. It seemed like that man was getting joy out of “playing god” with us.
Anyway, as I stated this was back in 2016 but I just saw someone post a review of this place on Facebook, I looked through my old posts and realized I never posted mine (too traumatized at the time?).
Word of warning STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. Do not even waste your time and energy.
Shout out to Nicholas! I'm the Service Director @ a highline import dealership, and I met him today as he was towing in an all wheel drive vehicle that could not be put into neutral. He first asked where the best place for him to drop it for our convenience ( instead of where was easiest for him ), and then the patience and care he showed getting it off his flatbed when all 4 wheels will not roll at all was impressive! These guys are amazing, I have been using there services for years. I have 4 cars with in my rotation that I bring to them. Most recently they installed 4 new tires and brakes on my Audi SUV. I can only say great things about G.A. Prompt, knowledgeable, fair priced. Thank you!

I highly recommend, especially for fellow motorcycle riders. They have an enclosed trailer specifically for towing motorcycles. It’s very nice knowing your bike is being transported in the best, safest way possible. It was also overall the best towing experience I’ve had. Driver was friendly, was well experienced, and even held a nice conversation on the ride back, on those often long quite rides to the house or shop. The wait was also very reasonable as well. They helped me when I was stuck on a broken down motorcycle 40 minutes from home. Thanks guys! Would recommend to anyone and everyone
Gpt a tow from them through triple A and they Dropped my car off at a different location that arranged, took 5 hours to get to me and couldn't provide a ride for me . Worst place ever. Never using them again or wouldn't recommend them
My car broke down today on rt 2 Glastonbury. Nick came out within 5 minutes & had my car on a flatbed & me safely off the highway. My elderly Mother was also with me. The professionalism was amazing. I can't recommend enough! A+
I unfortunately needed a tow for my truck today and after getting blown off by another tow company after 2 hours of waiting, I decided to try these guys. I was not disappointed whatsoever. They showed up quick ready to do the job. Ken was outstanding and extremely professional and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use these guys again. It's nice when you find a company who actually cares about their service and work quality. I highly recommend them.
Just wanted to give a big thank you to Jack. I was stranded on the highway at night without gas and he went out of his way to make sure I could get back on the road. He was very professional and friendly. Give that man a raise. He is an asset to your company.
My check engine light came on they checked everything out and believed my trouble was just a gas intake problem. They cleaned it out and didn't bother to charge me for their time and trouble. I guarantee I will use Glastonbury Automotive again .
Scott was great when towing my car, got there as fast as he could, and even helped me park the car when he was done. He said you guys were like family and I can really respect that. Every towing company should aspire to have guys like Scott.
This place has been around for years. Everyone knows auto repair costs can be huge. They are fair and the prices are competitive. Your updated on the repair, cost and options once you drop off your car.
I had my vehicle towed there a few days ago after it stalled and wouldn't start again. The next morning they said that the vehicle started just fine and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said they would try again later and several other times to see if they can find anything. I called today and they said that my vehicle is fine. I asked what the damage is and he says well we really didn't do anything so I can't really charge you anything. I expected some labor for diagnostic work, but they didn't charge me anything. Finding a mechanic that is trustworthy is all you are really looking for. I am completely impressed. I have never written review for anything, but this seems like the perfect opportunity.
Our car broke down in CT and AAA sent Glastonbury Automotive. The flatbed driver (Steve) was an absolutely nice guy which is kinda rare in that biz. Maybe the majority of population in Glastonbury are just nice people because we had the same experience with really nice people at the VW dealership there. Highly recommend this company based on my positive experience.
I was in a very difficult situation with a break down on a Sunday afternoon in Rocky hill, CT. AAA came to my rescue very quickly and suggested an auto repair shop in Glastonbury. Glastonbury Automotive was where we took the vehicle, dropped it off, completed the AAA envelope with the key and deposited it in their over night slot. I was a little uneasy about leaving my vehicle with anyone I hadn't heard of much less to leave it in their lot without speaking to anyone.
The next morning I called in and spoke to someone there who acknowledged having the vehicle and that they hadn't looked at it yet. They said they would check it out and get back to me later. I waited till about 11 and called back. I spoke to the same person and he said they HAD looked at it and it was the alternator. I asked him how much it would cost. He gave me a price that I thought was reasonable and told him that I needed it back today and was that possible. He said that he didn't see any problem with that and would get started on it ASAP. I also asked him for a rate on recharging the AC and once I verified that price asked that they do that as well. I never heard back from them, so I called back there at about 3:45. Again speaking to the same individual, he said everything was done and that he was just doing the paperwork now.
I picked the vehicle up at 4:30. It was exactly as he said, at the price that he had quoted. The work was satisfactory and I happily drove away.
This may sound like just another auto repair done by another auto repair shop but it meant a great deal to me to have a business who was left a vehicle on their doorstep NOT take advantage of the situation and at the very least pad the bill or come up with other fees or tasks that would have inflated the bill. This coupled with the fast action on their part makes me think there are still some very reputable businesses out there who make their living delivering reputable products at fair prices.
With the exception of maybe some better status reporting lol, I couldn't be more satisfied or grateful to the folks at Glastonbury Auto for their excellent treatment of me and my emergency.

My Family & friends have been using Glastonbury Automotive for years and we have found them to be awesome to deal with. All of the work that was done was done at a fair and reasonable price. We really appreciated that we were always given options on what work actually needed to done and what work should be done to prevent more problems down the road.
