Audi dealer said I needed a new catalytic converter and was going to charge me $4k. I took my car here instead. Hal explained the issue, found the parts from a scrap yard and saved me a significant amount. We will be taking our cars here from now on for service.
Hal is the absolute best! Brought in my car because the engine light was on. After inspection, Hal confirmed with Mercedes the car had an extended warranty on exactly that issue and that I should bring it to a dealership because it would be 100% covered. He could’ve easily taken the car in for repair but he graciously declined and looked after my best interest (and looked after my wallet). I can’t thank him enough! This was such an incredible way to gain my trust and I now will always be coming to Hal.

Well I had a ongoing problem with car throwing oxygen sensor codes for a long time. My car is tuned and modified. Nobody could figure it out. Hal figured it out within minutes, fixed it . Bavarian performance specialists are now my hero’s!
They were very thorough in inspecting and performing scheduled maintenance for my Porsche 911. They’re trustworthy and completed the work on time. I’ll use them again and recommend them to others.
Hal was very helpful in fixing our son’s car. He communicated well with us and with him. The repairs were done in a reasonable time and he was accommodating.
I was having issues I wasn't sure about, my Jetta was making weird noises. Brought it in and they took care of everything and more! Family owned business, which treats you like family (without the unsecured loans, of course, LOL). Seems to have great expertise in BMW judging by their constantly busy bays. However, they have a Ford specialist, too. Got lots of non-baloney info on my issue. Hal & co. did a particularly time consuming, messy emissions repair for me that I couldn't do in my driveway. He checked it carefully to make sure I'd pass and... all was well. Do business with this company with confidence.
I took a car they for a 'pre-purchase' inspection and boy, am I glad I did. They flagged some things that the dealer is still denying. Bavarian Performance Specialists are honest, trustworthy and just damn good people. There is no reason to go anywhere else.
Great experience! I have a classic 1973 BMW 2002 that requires special attention. It’s hard to find a shop that really understands these classic cars. The shop owner, Hal, has decades of experience with classic BMWs. He treated my car as if it was his own. Tiffany was super helpful checking me in and communicating. And Nick did a great job getting my differential back in shape. I will be back!
Thanks to Hal and Tiffany, they searched for days to find the source of my A/C going out. RATS! (Not Hal and Tiffany, I mean real darn RATS chewed up the wires and fuse box). Lots of hard work, lots of patience and always kind and understanding. Great service from great human beings!

Arrived at Bavarian Performance Specialist for a second opinion on a HVAC issue that was quoted by another local specialist at over 2K. In addition, we were also in a time crunch to get the car fixed in time to ship it off to college for our daughter's arrival. Not only were we able to get it repaired quickly (and for half the price), we received excellent customer service along the way. Highly recommend!

I had taken my Audi to the dealership to get a leak fixed near my transmission. I had gone to other shops to see what the problem was and if they could fix it. One shop recommended another and another and it lead me to Bavarian Performance Specialists. When I called to ask about the problem, they had an idea of what the issue was and an approximate quote if that were the issue. They were very flexible on when I could bring my car in and they took care of my car no problem. They called me to let me know what they had found and it happened to be that there were 2 leaks that needed to get patched up. I was very happy that the cost to fix the leaks was around what they had quoted me before. I got my car back and it’s been running like a champ with no issues. This beat taking it to the dealership where the cost was 3 times what I paid at Bavarian Performance Specialists. Thank you to the Bavarian Performance Specialists Team for fixing my car and saving me money!
They were friendly & attentive when I dropped the vehicle off for transmission service & an oil change. I told them my rear driver's turn signal & brake lights were not working. They provided timely updates & when they told me what the problem was with the lights they offered a solution to repair the lights & to make the same repair to the passenger side so I wouldn't have the problem again. And they did all the work for about the same price as it would have cost me JUST TO GET THE TRANSMISSION SERVICED at the dealership! Excellent service, very reasonable prices!
Hal has always done the job right. He’s helped me maintain three different BMWs, and I’ve never been disappointed. He always charges a fair price, especially compared to the dealer.

Back again when the oil level sender died on my 535i. Rodents had chewed through the wiring. Hal could’ve charged me hundreds for a new harness and sender, but instead simply rewired the existing sender and saved me a bunch of money.
Hal and his team did a GREAT job fixing the motor drives on the convertible top of my Boxter. Very quick repair and reasonable cost. Great having some “car talk” with Hal!!

Family run business with load of experience. You'll be well taken care of at Bavarian with competitive pricing, so ditch the dealer! Never had any problems, while they will go above and beyond to recommend other areas/parts of the car that need or will need service. For example, I went in for an oil change and they told my brake pads were getting low. Extremely helpful! Higher recommend.

The "check engine" light had been on for months and I needed to have the codes read, the problems diagnosed and the repairs done quickly so I could pass the smog test and renew the registration. My regular mechanic said it was very difficult to diagnose such problems on older Mercedes like mine (2002), could take weeks, and clearly didn't want to deal with it. I called the STAR smog station near me and the experienced mechanic told me that older Mercedes and BMWs were difficult to diagnose and repair and a client he'd been unsuccessful with had gone to Bavarian in Thousand Oaks and they had quickly solved his problems.
I called Bavarian immediately. I spoke with Tiffany the office manager who was kind, patient, knowledgable and got me set up with an appointment to bring the car in to start the process. She also referred me to a great car rental place within walking distance. I brought the car in, met the owner Hal who obviously had immense experience and was calm, polite and straightforward, and left my car in his capable hands. They kept in touch over the next day as the diagnosis process progressed, explaining the situation and my options as they went. By the next day the problem was fully diagnosed and I got a firm estimate for the cost of repair (an expensive repair but I felt the price was fair and was confident that I was in the right place). I immediately authorized them to proceed with the entire repair. My car was ready to be picked up the next day. When I picked the car up, the check engine light was off and it was running great. I was so glad I'd spent the money to fix "Old Bessie" and happily drove off in the heavy rain in my solid safe Mercedes. I plan to return to have Hal inspect my entire car, go over my old service records, and let me know when I should do additional service going forward to keep Old Bessie happy. Hal is my new mechanic. By the way, my car passed the smog test!
Great service! ! On the spot diagnostic identified the issue for the car message warning.. The light bulb was in stock and was quickly installed at a fair price. Everyone is welcoming and professional. They went above and beyond to take care of my car.
I'm not even sure where to start this review. If I could give Bavarian Performance Specialists 10 positive stars I would. My daughter attends college in Thousand Oaks and we live in Utah. After shipping my daughter's car to school, it ended up with a no-start scenario when we arrived to move her in to her dorm. Not knowing any service facilities in the area, I asked around and luckily someone recommended Hal and BPS. This was a Thursday evening at 8PM, but I thought I would call and leave a message since I needed to go back home on Saturday and there wasn't much time to get the car fixed. To my surprise Hal answered the phone that late in the evening and ended up talking / texting - giving me ideas to try until 11PM that night! All ideas that he wanted me to try, in order to NOT have to bring it in to his shop for repairs. How refreshing was that? At the end of the day, it turned out that the car needed a starter, and even though Hal had a full shop, given my situation, he was able to shift some other work around, and got the car in on Friday and had it fixed for us Friday by 6PM. Top that off with a lifetime warranty on the part and a two year warranty on the labor, we just couldn't be happier that we found this shop. As if that were not enough, Hal gave his personal cell number to my daughter and said she could feel free to call him at any point, even after hours or weekends if she had questions about anything at all on her car. You just don't get service like this anymore these days. Thank you Hal and team. You have customers for life!
This is the second time I’ve taken my 2013 Audi A6 to Hal. They have done an outstanding job both times. Hal and his crew care about their customers, and are extremely knowledgeable on foreign cars. I find it refreshing to have found a dependable, honest mechanic who is truly looking out for their customer’s best interest and are reasonably priced.
My first visit happened to be without an appointment. Early in the day, a dangerous situation with my BMW's front suspension was discovered. BPS resolved the problem the same day. Thank you BPS!
Hal is my local “go to guy” for independent BMW service. He’s extremely knowledgeable and a bit of a perfectionist. Perfect! I’ve brought my vintage 1973 BMW as well as modern BMW’s, plus a VW with Bosch fuel injection issues. I especially appreciate his shop’s skill at preventing problems before they develop.
Hal is awesome!!! I had him survey a BMW for me before purchasing and he was extremely thorough. He takes his time with the vehicle, truly understands every aspect of it, and impressed the owners of the vehicle with his knowledge as well. We all benefited from his knowledge and this experience.
