Today I went in for a tire repair and a battery. Jose went above and beyond to help me find the battery I needed. Gus, the service manager was giving Jose a hard time for helping me find an alternative since they didn’t not have the battery. Seems like Gus only tries to help when it’s a big purchase. Maybe if Gus would have helped me I wouldn’t have the battery I needed. 5 stars for Jose. No starts for Gus. If you go in ask for Jose or Michelle.

have been to pep boys/thousand oaks, ca 3 times in the last 6 months or so-- each time the service has been outstanding. Michelle has assisted me each time. She is efficient, professional, and courteous. additionally she thinks ahead, is detailed and offers (not pushes) suggestions. bc of Michelle's outstanding service i now choose pep boys thousand oaks for my van service....

I was super confused with what was going on with my car, after being told by another place my car was fine I kept driving but same metal sounds was getting worse. So wasnt fine. Called and took my car to Pep Boys had an appointment. They were so kind and efficient with their service. The kind woman at the front desk, was amazing I think her name is Michelle, she was so kind to me. She helped me with pricing and was patient when I kept asking for more things. Prices were very decent. Im thankful I took my car here cause yes there was a problem and Pep Boys caught it. Thank you so much!!! Will definitely be back if I need to :)

HORRiBLE customer service. This is my first time visiting Pep Boys ever and it’s a pathetic experience. Never visiting this place again. I had a charging system issue with my Honda Pilot and I brought my vehicle to this center for diagnosis. Michelle assisted with the check-in. An hour later, she called me and said it’s an alternator issue and needs to be replaced. She gave an estimate of $850, $385 for alternator and remaining for labor. I asked if there is any discount, she said they can’t do anything on the part, but they could give discount on labor to a total charge of $700. I was amazed for the customer service and asked her to proceed. Later in the evening when I went to pickup the vehicle, I realized that they put in the remanufactured alternator and the charge is $258 for the part. She never told me they are going to install REMAN alternator. I questioned the part and the charges, the person checked the stock and they said they don’t have the new alternators in stock. He asked me to call back the next day as Michelle had left for the day. Next day, Michelle argued with me that they will always install REMAN alternators and she thought I was aware of it. I told her she quoted $385 for alternator (charge for new one) and the part they installed is $258 and she never discussed this with me. She said I asked for discount and she replaced original part with this one and completely denied the labor discount that she offered in previous call. I don’t trust this place, these people are liars and never taking my car to this place again. This place will be out of business very soon for their bad business practices and poor customer service.

Thank you Michelle, Gustavo and Ryan. My wife came home from work and told me her tire sensor came on. Her tires were pretty high mileage so I decided to call pep boys on a Sunday morning. Thankfully they had an exact set of tires in stock. About an hour later, I was out the door with fresh tires. Awesome job Pepboys!

Had to have my AC serviced. Wasn't getting as cold started end of last summer so before it heats up I started researching places to have it serviced. Found Pep Boys in Thousand Oaks. First time here and it started off bad with michelle. She checked me in for the AC test inspection to see what was actually wrong. She came back 10 minutes later to inform me that my front passenger tire was pretty much bald. I told her I was aware. A half hour later she came back to tell me the cap had been left off of my reservoir tank and that can cause the pressure to lower and also cause overheating. I informed her the AC went out last summer and to PLEASE check what I bought my car in for. Finally she came to get me and informed me I needed my freon recharged and my AC condenser was leaking. It would be about $1028. I told her no thank you. She said they would put it back together and pull it around. After about 10 minutes the manager comes out and says he has the authority to lower the price to $828. I told him this is Very strange and suspect behavior. He assured me he went into the system to find me the best price and found the part a little cheaper. Against my better judgement I agreed and scheduled for the following week. I had to prepay because the part had to be ordered. Saturday morning my appointment was for 8:30, I received a call from michelle at 8:19 asking if I was going to make my appointment. I said yes then she proceeded to tell me that the technician was there and ready because he has things to do. When I arrived 5 minutes later the manager greeted when I came in and he was standing there behind Michelle who was on the phone. I immediately told him what happened and I didn't appreciate it. How dare she tell a paying customer that the technician has things to do. By this time she was off the phone and said I didn't say that and I CONFIRMED yes you did. The manager apologized several times and I told him I would deal with him moving forward. Then found out that the part they ordered was the wrong one. Long story short a 2-3 hour job lasted 4 1/2 hours. The manager said come see him for my next oil change and he would take half off for the bad experience. I will be calling corporate Monday and will NEVER return here. Poor customer service. I have a choice in where I spend my hard earned money and it WON'T be here. HORRIBLE first experience.

Pep Boys on E Thousand oaks blvd, in Thousand Oaks, California were so helpful and kind to us today. they are simply wonderful , especially Jose and the tech who did the work, to help us decide what to do with our Battery and tires, and got us back on the road quicker than we could possibly imagine. We are so lucky to have found them . And we’ll be back every time we are in the area!

I came here for a second opinion because the Ford dealership was giving me a much higher price on brake pads and recommend a tire rotation and new battery. Turns out I didn’t need any of that. Brake pads are fine. Battery is fine and the tire rotation would have actually been bad because of the wear on my inner front tires, which Ford didn’t even mention. I would highly recommend coming here. They were very honest and knowledgeable. Jose was super helpful!

The auto parts business must be very tough. As I have just discovered, not even the decades old stalwart like Pep Boys can escape the fate of many auto parts stores. Fortunately for us, the best part of the business, the service department is all that remains. The staff, in my case, Michelle who helped me, is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I can't thank her enough to help get me underway. With the excellent and expedient service, you can bet that I will return the next time I need something worked on again!

This is the worst service I have ever encountered. I just came to change the oil. I waited in line for 2 hours and in the end they couldn't change it, saying that the battery was dead. They broke it. I went to fix it at a neighboring Toyota service center, where I spent 5.5 hours fixing it and paid $490 for a new battery and the consequences of its breakage. I returned to the service center, but they said it was too late, they were closed. But he said: "Wait, I'll check and come back." I waited 15 minutes, of course he didn't come back. I came to the office myself, and he had completely forgotten who I was. He suggested that I come back in 2 days. Why did I wait? This is disrespect for a client who is already tired of you. 1 star

5/4/25- I had another service here at the Thousand Oaks location. As always Jose and Michelle are best. They are both on top of everything and the customer service is excellent. Also they are open on Sundays which is spectacular. Thank you again Jose and Michelle. Jose and Michelle are the best. Jose was my advisor and was excellent. Extremely happy with my service. All my future work will be done Jose at Pep Boys in Thousand Oaks. Thank you and great job guys.

I had a tire blowout on Easter Sunday - one of the worst days you could hope for car trouble - and nearly every shop in Thousand Oaks was closed. Fortunately, Pep Boys was open. I made it in around 2pm, just two hours before they were set to close. Despite being short-staffed and backed up with other customers, they still managed to get me taken care of quickly and professionally. Michelle was fantastic - professional, funny, kind, and exactly the kind of person you hope to encounter during a stressful situation. Marco Jr., the specialist who replaced my tire, did a great job and had me back on the road in short order. I genuinely appreciated their willingness to go above and beyond, especially on a holiday. This kind of customer service is rare, and I won’t forget it. Thank you to the whole team!

For the value and the service, Pepboys in TO is fantastic. From start to finish, the process was seamless. I booked my appointment the night before online. Michelle was very friendly when I walked in and made sure the team did a thorough check of my vehicle during my oil change. For my tires brakes and oil changes, I’ll keep coming back to PepBoys.

I had a battery issue on a 2017 Grand Cherokee, I was in town for only a few days and it was an emergency for me- I needed to get this truck running. Gus and his mechanics went above and beyond all expectations to get me on the road. I'm very happy with my experience at pep boys in TO, and with me, they've earned a customer for life. Thanks, Gus for all the help, you made life a little bit easier for me in a very stressful time. 5 stars, and I would give them 6 if I could.

Paid $117 for an oil change, tire rotation, and a set of two windshield wipers (which I didn’t even want or need, but cashier insisted it’s a deal since it would cost the same without), and they didn’t even rotate my tires. If I knew it would have cost this much and taken them over an hour and half just for the oil change, I wouldn’t have come here. I will definitely not be returning.
