I bought a VQ35DE for my G35 a year ago. The engine was suppose to have from 45k to 75k miles. They told me that washed the engine before they sent it to the installation shop. However, the installation shop told me that the engine was extremely dirty, but that that wasn't an indication for good the engine was. Moreover, I have had endless problems with the engine ever since the car left the shop. Now, I am having leaks the engine feels terrible. I know that I have already lost my money, this is just a warning for people not to trust the shops because this engine feels like it has a lot more miles than what they told me.
I purchased an engine for my Tacoma and I returned it. The owner did not hesitate to make a refund. I apologized for returning it and he was ok with it. Great Service! Keep in mind There was nothing wrong with the engine, my mechanic didn’t feel comfortable installing the engine and making some changes to it.
So I'm gonna just be real with this an say I was skeptical at 1st because I always go through hmo to get all my jdm swaps but they didn't have an h series an jdm of California had about the only cleanest 92-96 h22a swap I could find an David definitely did all he could to make my experience a pleasure which led to a purchase of the swap.. engine is super clean an definitely will be doin business with them again for sure!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😎🤘🏽 thank you guys at jdm of California for great products an customer service!!!🙏🏽
I recommend this company. I was able to purchase a low-mileage 1NZ-FE for a reasonable price, even though there are virtually no other dismantlers that had one at the time. The shipping fee was fair. I've since put roughly 5000 miles on the replacement engine without any problems. No leaks. No abnormal noises. No cooling problems. All in all, I'm satisfied and would feel comfortable purchasing from this company again.
Top notch company, they really stand behind their product. I ordered a Ka24de motor that unfortunately had an issue. The owner took care of me and my son has been driving a car with that motor for two years. My nephew and his friend has since bought a CRV motor and had no issues. -Many years later just got a Subaru FB20 last week. Again excellent customer service, had the engine on a pallet and wrapped with plastic to protect it from the rain. Paid for the engine and had it loaded in my truck and on my way in under 30 minutes. Owner is always professional and takes care of his customers. I would recommend this as a go to place for all your JDM engine needs.
Was down from SLC unannounced and the owner took extra great care of me. He brought down 6 engines and helped me pick out the best one. He even swapped sensors and accessories to get me the best possible set up. Was not expecting any of it based on previous experience with used car part retailers. 10/10 and i never write reviews. Runs like new!

I recently bought a 2AZ motor for my son's Scion TC from JDM of California. It's been in his car for 3 weeks now, and I couldn't be happier. Great customer service, and communication. Motor looks like it was brand new, and runs great! The fact that it's a complete motor, and for the price is unbeatable. Since all I own are Toyota's, if I need another motor or transmission, this will be where I buy it from. Lifetime customer now! Many thanks guys!!!! Also they sent me a video of the compression test of the motor! You guys are great!
Had a minor issue with a b20 talked to David had his employee Ray come from Ontario to victorville to exchange a motor now what other place would do that 5 star fer sure. Jdm California FTW
Blew up an old engine. Repairs were going to cost $7,000. Called these guys, they do compression test and took the heads off to see how clean the internals are. He said, “we have an engine, but I wouldn’t put it into your vehicle. (Due to signs of the previous owner not changing the oil) Call us back in a week when our new shipment comes in.” When I did eventually make it into the stop to look at engines, they had already determined which one was the best of their new shipment. They were also very knowledgeable about the mileage of the engine and how to determine that. It was a very comfortable and good experience overall, especially considering the circumstances. The total cost of the project only costed $2,000 dollars. I saved $5,000 dollars and my 2001 4Runner runs like new. Non of the other shops in Southern California would do a compression test or open the top up. Need an engine, but from these guys.
Amazing they waited for me barely made it after close due to traffic. They helped me out and got a killer deal they take amazing care of customers for a fact.
