Worst experience I have ever had at an AutoZone! First of all, this place if full of teenagers who do not have any experience in customer service. I came here to exchange my car led lights that I bought the previous night because they didn't work. I called prior to make sure they had the lights I wanted, they confirmed. When I got there they did not have them, I assume they didn't check. The parking lot was full of teenagers which the employees were hanging out with. It felt more like a hang out spot than an auto shop. The employee Maxwell, for some reason started a return asking for my credit card and ID. I was questioning why he was doing all of this if I was going to leave to a different store for the exchange. He input the information with assistance from another employee and said it was a suspicious transaction and they couldn't help me. I asked for my items back so I could go to another autozone for the exchange, since they didn't have my item. By the time I got to the next store (in a rush to make it there before closing), I was informed by the employee that the other guys at San Clemente called them and told them not to provide me service. Wasted time, wasted gas, wasted money. Completely unprofessional experience. DO NOT GO HERE
AutoZone is good. I like the fact that they are the only ones that carry Valvoline restore and protect motor oil, which is better than any other motor oil on the market. It cleans your engine out spotless
I was running errands when I felt something fall from above the pedals and hit my foot. (It turned out to be a piece of plastic that connected my brake pedal to the sensor.) When I got out of my car, I noticed that my brake lights were on - with nothing holding down the brake pedal. After fiddling with the brake pedal for a bit, calling a couple of friends, and almost calling roadside service, I watched a couple of YouTube videos that showed how to fix it - One guy used a bolt to reconnect the brake pedal to the sensor and another guy used a kit. With just a few minutes before closing time, I decided to see if anyone at AutoZone would know what I would need to buy to fix it. Enter Bruce. Unable to find a kit, he could have sent me on my way empty-handed. Instead, Bruce went above and beyond what I expected by grabbing a bolt(?) out of a drawer and, in about 5 minutes time, was able to fix the issue by reconnecting my brake pedal to the sensor - thereby saving me from a dead battery, blown light bulbs, a trip to my mechanic, and a possible accident due to faulty brake lights. The next time I have an issue with my car, I will stop by AutoZone and talk with Bruce before taking my car to my mechanic. THANK YOU, BRUCE!!!
By far the best autozone i have ever been to. Jose is phenomenal with his team and great at customer service. His workers were also very helpful in assisting me. Id rather order to the store instead of my home because of my experience and will only use this location for my auto needs.
On November 2, 2024 I was driving home to LA from San Diego with my son and daughter when I experienced car trouble. I pulled over called my brother and he suggested I drive to Auto Zone to get an additive for my transmission as it wasn’t getting 2nd gear. By the time i arrived at Auto Zone San Clemente the store was closed. It had closed about 20 minutes earlier. Luckily for me there was 2 employees that had stayed to chat after work and those 2 gentleman were of great help. They advised me not to continue driving as it could cause greater damage to the car and offered me to leave the car in the parking lot if i could get a ride home and they would make sure my car wouldn’t get towed. Due to circumstances out of my control my car had to stay there for weeks and the staff at Auto Zone store #3301 were just wonderful and very supportive and understanding to say the least. The store manager Jose has been a blessing just going above and beyond in his management role. I am forever grateful with all the amazing staff at this store. Would definitely recommend and go back anytime.
Bruce is amazing! Honestly, I have had bad experiences with other auto zones not the staff but the corporation. But Bruce really brings a good name to the company. He goes above and beyond to help customers and is very knowledgeable. He gave me some tricks for using Cata clean And he also let me know the best place to take my car for a wash. Really cool guy! Great service and honestly one of the best AutoZone employees I’ve ever met. Thank you so much for today Bruce!!!!
When A place or person goes above and beyond to make you feel like you chose the right place to buy something, get help or advice, this establishment is just that. Bruce is the man. Very knowledgeable and actually wants to help you with your questions about your car and products that will help the issue. Excellent service. You just don't find that very often these days.

I was in a dire situation with my car overheating and stuck in a spot with poor cell reception. The staff at this Autozone was beyond helpful and kind in looking at my vehicle and recommending shops in the area. When I was stranded in their parking lot for 6 hours waiting for a tow, Sal gave me his personal external battery to charge my cell, cold bottles of water and everyone continued to check on me. In my book, kindness goes a long way, especially these days, and I truly appreciate how this store went above and beyond. Thank you!
Very friendly, helped me identify the right wipers for my car, suggested the less expensive brand, and even installed them on my car! Best customer service I’ve seen in a long time.
Bruce was a life saver. U-joint broke on my custom drivetrain van and he helped me measure it out, identify which one I needed, and guided me with outstanding knowledge and experience in replacing it. Would not be on the road right now if it wasn't for him.
Today I returned a part that failed under warranty. I was told by the manager yes it is under warranty but you will have to come back later cause we don’t have 90 dollars cash on hand. It is bad enough I had to waste my time removing the part that failed and bring it back to the store but now I get to waste my entire day messing with this. I don’t have to explain what is done if there isn’t enough cash on hand for a return as it is very simple . The manager goes and pulls money to cover the transaction unless he is to lazy and has no respect for his customers or their time then he tells them to come back later. He said after 1:00 pm he will have cash.
This is an update to the above review.
It is now 6:00 I return to the store and ask to return the defective item the manager says we don’t have any cash maybe you should come back on the weekend . I ask if he could just put the balance on my card he said no come back on the weekend. If that isn’t poor customer service then I don’t know what is.
This was the last straw for me I will throw it in the trash before I waste my time coming here again. Thanks auto zone that is how to treat your customers if you want to lose them forever
Called before going in to see if my battery was still under warranty they said yes and would swap it for me so I paid for an Uber but once I get there the guy told me they would only swap it for me after they charged and tested it which would take an hour. Super annoying since I paid for an Uber and wasn’t told about this prior. Waste of time, useless staff.
This place is a joke and if your looking for getting into a potential problem with wrong parts or defective product and no help or customer service or support then go spend/ waste your time and money there. I will never recommend or step foot in that place again. They are a total rip-off and shouldn't be in business. Worst auto parts store I have ever walked in to. Enter at your own risk. I filed a complaint with their corporate office and was apologized too profusely for my whole encounter with that store and staff and have been assured that my refund will be processed immediately and arrangements will be made for me to return the items with no cost to me. Even though Auto Zone corporate fixed the problem I still won't shop or recommend that Auto Zone store to anyone.
We came in for snow chains for our tires and Bruce was so, so helpful! He sized our tires and took the time to teach us how to put them on! Wow!!! He went above and beyond in customer service to assist us. Highly recommend Bruce!!!! THANK YOU!
horrible experience 😪 with this guy name zelle? he didn't even have his batch on, I bought a battery last week, it came out defective, he just didn't want to change it, he told me tha I have to go to the store where I bought it from🥴 I went to 2 different stores just to ask what he tell me and they al told me the he was wrong,
Bruce is literally the man! Customer service is five star, he always greets us with awesome energy making it hard for us to leave right away. He is a book of knowledge. Every single time we have had car troubles or needed anything in regards to our vehicles, we call and Bruce and his team make sure we are taken care of. I love having a local shop that makes us feel like home every time we walk in, it wouldn't be possible without Bruce. Thank you Bruce for everything.
The Auto Zone in San Clemente has the best customer service & care than any in the areas of the area I live in South Orange County. Bruce & Melanie have gone above & beyond for myself & customers with their customer service & educating me on the parts I've need to buy for multiple vehicles I have. They are incredibly helpful, as is there entire staff is too. They make it easy to come to a parts store without feeling like I'm lost in there. I highly recommend this Auto Zone. It's definitely worth the drive!
On vacation from Arizona. Was driving from San Diego to Orange County and my wheel bearing went out! We get there and find out the problem was even worse! The wheel hub was falling apart and my brake caliper came lose!! Somehow I fell to the beat autozone experience I’ve ever had!! Bruce was very knowledgeable and friendly. In a time of stress, he helped me feel like this was minor and sure enough we were back on the road shortly. Thank you guys! We need this back in Arizona!
Amazing! Our battery had issues the night before we had to head back home from our week in San Clemente and we stopped by AutoZone to get it checked out. Jonathan jumped right on it, discovered the problem, was above and beyond helpful and great to chat with while he swapped our battery out. Top notch crew at SC AutoZone!
The guys here are super helpful and always willing to give advice. I did a custom madenair filter for 2 cars and we sat in their parking lot all day running in and out. They made sure that we hadn't completely obliterated the engine a few times as well!!
Very poor customer service! I called ahead of time to see if they would install a new car battery. I talked to Adrian. He told me to come by at 11:30 am. I went in there and asked if they could check my old car battery first. He said yes. I waited a half hour while he waited on 2 customers ahead of me. He took his sweet time. Then when it was my turn, he started to wait on some guy who came in 20 mins after me. I told him that I would just go to O'Reilly instead. They didnt care cause Adrian just didnt want to come outside in the hot sun! Adrian should be fired! Autozone is guilty of False Advertizing!!! They should not advertise anything that they can't deliver!
Sia was extremely helpful. Checked my rotors on my Land Cruiser and showed me that I needed them replaced. I would have only bought pads, and drove 40 miles to my mechanic and had to turn around and come back. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
The best in town! Mel is the best. She has saved me from being grounded in the driveway more than once. Oh, by the way she delivers if your polite and she's not busy.
