I had high hopes for this place given all the positive reviews. I'd been having an issue where my temperature gauge stopped working for a while and then would come back on and the engine would be a normal temperature. Got charged $205 for the diagnostics alone which Google and my car-savvy friends tell me is well above average. They said fixing the issues would be another $800+ which embarrassingly made me cry, as another mechanic that looked at it when I was trying to get home from the desert told me it was an easy fix and, as I told Tom's, I'm struggling quite a bit financially right now... did I really need ALL the work they suggested? Was the new thermostat I'd already bought for the car REALLY not good enough? Their response was to pressure me into a sketchy looking, high-interest loan service. Thank goodness I ran the quote by car-savvy friends who told me to take it somewhere else immediately. They offered to fix it for a third of the price, so I called to cancel my appointment at Tom's. They had no record of me. What a bummer. I'm trying not to speculate on why they treated me like that, because that's depressing, but I can't help but wonder if it's because I'm a woman.

I’ve been looking for a more cost effective service auto repair and I found Tom’s via the Costco Auto Program for Parts and Service. I called and spoke to Victor Gonzalez the store manager about several service items on my 2018 Cadillac Escalade. Shock replacement, spark plugs / tuneup, transmission, brake, differential fluid replacement and alignment. Victor was outstanding! He provided me details about all the services and I knew I was at the right place. He provided me a quote, which the pricing was fair market, plus I received a 15% Costco discount up to $500. When I picked up my Escalade and drove it, the ride was as good or better than new when I purchased the vehicle. He recommended me Arnott shocks as I wanted to go with a 3rd party brand and the ride is now incredible! Going forward, Tom’s is our place to repair all of my family’s vehicles.

Fast service. Full empathy for customer need. Affordable solution We were from out of town and had a flat tire. We were in a hurry because we had pick up our kid from CSuLB in 2 hours. Tom personally checked us in. Made sure we were taken care of fast. Also provided us with an affordable solution. We will forever be grateful! Also, staff were very effective and polite.

I have been coming to Tom's Automotive for routine oil changes since 2023. Originally I found this shop as I discovered a flat on my truck due to a nail. I had work that morning and had to throw on the spare for the moment. After work that day I stopped in to get it fixed and they took me right away with a quick patch fix. I haven't had any issues with that tire since. Fast forward a month, I returned to get an oil change following that experience. The cost is a bit more than your quick minute oil change but what sets them apart is the time and attention they give to your vehicle. Not only am I getting a reliable oil change every time, they are also doing a full inspection of my vehicle at dealers recommendation based on my trucks mileage. I have been in 4 times for oil changes and will continue to return. The team is efficient and always take care of me while I am there.

Face it, the mechanic, like the dr is an appt that’s dreaded. Every Vivian I have made to TASC has been effortless, positive and I left with a feeling of security. Everyone there is extremely friendly, communicative and dedicated to taking care of their clients. It’s shows in their work, their manner of dealing with you and the knowledge they share. My car goes nowhere but TASC for even something as simple as an oil change. I trust them. 100%.

I’ve been going to Tom’s for years now, and they deliver every time. I trust them to get the job done when they say they will, and be honest about the work needed. The office is down to earth and really care about what they’re doing. Victor treats everyone like a good old friend from day one! Their new employee (I think named Jason?) is continuing with the same energy, and was so kind. The waiting area is nice and comfy. Prices are good. I enjoy their rewards program and online portal to keep track of my car maintenance. I got a pre-road-trip inspection yesterday with my oil change and they’re clear about what’s essential, what can wait, and the simple things they did for free. They also gave me quotes and how to save the most money. Lastly as a woman, other shops have tried talking down at me, lie about the work needed to money-grab, but thankfully since I’ve been going to Tom’s I’ve never had to deal with that crap again.

Another save by Tom, Victor and especially Melvin! My 1998 Jeep was in need of sensor repair to pass smog (was not an easy task to fix). The guys took great care and made sure I passed successfully. THANK YOU!

I went to Tom's on Jan 24th for an oil change. I was in a rush so they moved me up in the cue, which I really appreciated. After the oil change though, my tire went flat after my workout. My tire technician saw no holes and believed it was because they messed with my tire valve.

My overheated vehicle smoking down the street. I called Tom's Automotive and spoke with Victor asking if it's ok for me to drop off my car. He said yes, I had a tow truck drop it off. I explained the issue with my vehicle overheated smoking and oil leak just to name a few things. Victor stated no problem this was on Friday by Tuesday my car was ready Victor gave me an awesome discount . If you are seeking a mechanic look no more Tom's Automotive is it. You don't have to feel you're being overpriced.

Company tried to upsell me on a simple fix. I do not recommend. Edit since the owner responded: I had a glitch with my car's check engine light. I called multiple other car repair shops and experts, explained the issue, and they all told me it was likely a glitch and my check engine light just needed to be reset. I then called this shop as it was closest to see if they would reset it for me. They said no, not without trying to upsell me on a full diagnostic. Despite me explaining the situation further, and assuring them I don't need a diagnostic because it was just a glitch, the person who answered the phone chose to talk down to me, acted sanctimonious, and implied I was trying to neglect proper vehicle maintenance. I then took my car to a farther repair shop who reset the light free of charge and explained yet again that the light was glitching. My car drives perfectly fine and, unsurprisingly, the light has not turned back on because, as I explained to the worker, there was nothing wrong with my car. Given the accusatory response by the owner, it appears this horrible attitude towards customers stems from the tip top of management.

Brought a new used car into Tom’s automotive for an oil change earlier this week. I made an appointment before and was told it would take two hours to complete the order. I decided to wait and take advantage of their reception area which offers free beverages. The car was ready sooner than expected and I was more than pleased. Tom’s Automotive Service comes highly recommended!

The service I received at Tom's was excellent. I bought tires from Tom's and they did not try and up sell anything. I make an appt and bring my car in every 5,000 to get the tires rotated for free. The staff are friendly and efficient. I trust and recommend Tom's with my cars.

I genuinely feel as though TOM’s try to take advantage of me as a young female. I will never be going back. Toms squeezed me in for new tires. They were a little bit pricier than some of the other quotes that I got, but they were able to do it the same day, which I Appreciated. However, as I’m getting my tires done, they try to upsell me on about half a dozen other things. After getting two additional opinions, it’s clear that None of those things are necessary some are outright false. And I can see now that Tom tried to take advantage of me. Buyer beware.

Tom Tires did an amazing job. We had 2 work vehicles that needed new tires. Because we have a service business we needed them done in a timely manner. They were able to tell us when the tires would be delivered to them, which was next day! We brought our vehicles in the next morning after and the vehicles were ready for pick up that same afternoon! Commercial or personal vehicles I would recommend them to anybody! Thanks Tom’s Tire Team!

Great shop - My AC went out in my truck and these guys quickly got me in fixed the problem and got it back to me and kept me updated the whole time. When i first walked into the shop the front desk was busy and a guy turned to me from the back to help and introduced himself as Tom (the owner); he quickly got out of his chair went and checked my truck out in the parking lot and got me setup in no time. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. I’ll definitely be returning for any future needs and highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for reliable automotive service!

I woke up this morning to the understanding that I had a large piece of metal in one of my tires. My car is a Tesla, not all shops will service them even for tires (weird). I called Tom's, they confirmed they could help and gave me pricing. Sounded good. Better still, he told me hang back and come in an hour, so less waiting around. I did exactly that, and they totally took care of the tire repair, quickly. I was out of there before I knew it. The waiting area is modern, clean and cozy, and hearing the staff handle customers in the background, they are good people here. I don't need service a lot, and historically I used nearby Discount Tire. They were slow, it was dirty, and a miserable place to wait, and it always seemed to cost too much. I had thus pretty low expectations going in. Thanks Tom's for restoring my faith in auto service shops in Long Beach. You have earned my future business on the back of this!

I lived in LB for two years and always went to Tom’s for all my car repairs because of their efficiency, communication, amazing customer service, and to support a family business. I now live in Beverly Hills and will make the drive to Tom’s for my car’s oil change and any repairs that pop up (it’s worth the drive to have my car inspected by them). Despite how busy their team is, they’re always good about getting me in and having my car ready the same day. I also want to add that their waiting room is very comfortable, clean, and quiet to work from. They have couches and lounge chairs, a mini fridge with refreshments, and a solid coffee setup. Thanks for your service and endless hospitality! Ya’ll are awesome and you have a customer for life.

I was looking for a place that offers wheel alignment because I got new tires. Found Tom's Automotive Service Center to be very close to my place and scheduled an appointment. Called and in a few hours I was in their shop. Waited about 5 mins since there was a customer ahead of me. They did my car and 25mins later I was out of the shop. They drove test my car too, before and after the alignment, which was great. Tells me they really do their job very well. Customer service was great! Victor and Mario and the mechanic was great! Very good place to go get your car fixed. Prices were also very good compared to other shops I was able to contact. Definitely recommend this place!

I typically do my own automotive work but for jobs I can't do they all go to Tom's. I appreciate their early hours and everyone is clean, polite, and professional.

Took "OJ" to Tom's for an alignment. Found them via Google search and couldn't be happier. Most shops don't want to or can't do an alignment on a lifted vehicle. I called them up and they were happy to do it. The shop was super clean and organized and everyone I spoke to was very professional and knowledgeable.
