If you're worried about the so-called stewardship of the environment in regards to plastic drink bottles why do you still buy them. Point the finger at yourself before you pass the buck to someone else simple mind

I have been using them for recycling items and they are absolutely the best! They are friendly, welcoming and helpful!

Very sorry to hear that the County is still contracting with a Company that will no longer take #1 and #2 plastics unless it is "heavy" plastic, that pretty much rules out most beverage containers including plastic water bottles, because they are "thin" plastic. Time to find another Company to take the plastic, since this is not very good stewardship of our environment.

Moved to Arkansas last Feb. I'm very happy to have a place to take recycling! A perfect 5 stars review if they took all plastics, not just 1&2.

I have an idea for an easier time (at least for the cardboard dumpster) although not sure would be feasible. Put an elevated walkway on the side to make it easier for a complete fill, the middle of the dumpster appears to be the last to "get full"

There are bins for each type of material, so plan to spend a few minutes and sort your items ahead of time. They now accept glass, aluminum, corrugated cardboard (but not cereal box style cardboard), paper, steel, plastic (1 and 2 only), electronics, appliances, and batteries. Helpful staff.. ask if you have questions.

I had pickup truck load of flattened cardboard boxes after our move to HSV; before I had a chance to get out of my truck, a very friendly worker came out to meet me and help me unload even though it's a very hot day here today. I'm surprised there's not a recycling program in the Village, but this location is a fairly convenient alternative.

I have dropped off plastics here many times over the years, often receiving help and a "thank you" from the workers. However, I recently stopped by (4/23/18) to drop off bagged plastics, as I always have, and was greeted with an angry scowl from a man who ignored me when I said hello, and he began yelling for someone named Mark (the manager, as I later found out.) I had already placed some of the bagged plastic into the big plastics bin with the rest of the bags of plastic, and the first guy became irate and told me he didn't want my trash and began pulling my bags out of the bin and throwing them all over the place. You'd think I'd dumped a bag of roadkill into their plastics bin or something by the way he was acting. This Mark guy showed up and told me he didn't want my house trash and that I had glass and non-plastics in my bags. I didn't - it was 100% plastics - and I pointed this out. He told me that if I wanted to leave anything for recycling I would need to sort it all by hand myself into their poorly marked bins, which I have never needed to do before (do they not get paid to do this?) I pointed out that there was already a whole bin full of plastic bags filled with random plastics, just as mine were, and he ignored that, stating that I needed to take my "trash" home. I never got an explanation about why they suddenly wouldn't accept my plastic and they were beyond rude about it, which is a shame, since all I was trying to do was recycle plastic the same way I have for years with no problems. Needless to say, if Mark and his crony are in charge of this place now, I would not recommend it to anyone.

I wish there was a place like this near me in Atlanta Georgia. The facility is very nice. It is well run and very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The one item that they cannot take are florescent light bulbs, whether the long tube bulbs, nor the CFL's that many of us have at home. Doing my part to save the planet one recyclable at a time.
