I'd had some difficulties with my longtime repair shop. A friend referred me to Hammer, their experience aligns with mine. Convienant, courteous service. I had a few items taken care of, so far so good! Looking forward to having a local company keep my vehicle maintained.
Great experience with Hammers Auto, from the time I called to the time I picked up my car they kept me in the loop. They gave me honest advice on what needed to be fixed now and what could be done later, so I could make an informed choice, I really appreciated that part of the service. Picked the car up after a big snow storm and they jumped at the chance to help me scrap off the snow from my car. Fantastic customer service all around. 6-stars

They are always quick, friendly and so helpful. They even took me when I had an emergency and the earliest a dealership or other mechanic was the following week.

So I figured you work on vehicles 15 years or newer, just swap a part and call it good, no carb, points & condenser, timing, real mech work. No computer can't rack up prices?
Went in the front to the desk and nobody was there, hung around for couple minutes figured must be swapping out parts.
Read all the reviews, I still can't wrap my head around someone with a Antique Mustang in your shop, that you couldn't find a belt for! Really... been to lots of mechs but a serpentine belt or any belt, Oreillys, NAPA, Advance all carry "Any" belt!
This reminds me of a very Large Quick Oil Change joint that charged $100 to change a serpentine belt LOL.
Yea read enough, you just keep on doing your business and charging for do nothing jobs, chumps who don't know better will pay you.

Over 20 years of trustworthy service! My car had issues out of town recently. The nearby dealership quoted me $5800 to change out cylinder, so I had the car towed to Hammers for second opinion. After in depth diagnostics, a faulty spark plug was determined as the issue. Easy fix. They have always been and will continue to be my go to mechanic for expert service at a fair price.
Took my car to them because I was having clutch issues, they diagnosed it the same day and ordered the parts needed and told me I would get it back the next week. Got my car back within the timeframe they stated. I’m really happy with the work and the customer service.

Brought my BMW in for a wheel bearing. The price they quoted me was about twice what google predicted the average cost would be. I went ahead with the repairs figuring Hammers would do quality work worth the extra price. I was wrong. The mechanic clearly used the impact gun to tighten the lug nuts to over 400 ft/lbs of torque (measured with a snap-on torque wrench) when the manufacturer suggests 100 ft/lbs. When I confronted them about the lug nut torque, all I wanted them to do was loosen the nuts and I would handle the rest. They chose to treat me like I was dumb and state they torqued the lug nuts to 100 ft/lbs and they must have tightened up to over 400 ft/lbs on my drive home. I feel it is unacceptable to charge the amount they did, do a poor job of repair, and treat me like I'm clueless.
My wife and I have been taking our vehicles to Hammers since 2021 and have always had a great experience. They’re awesome at communicating pricing and timing estimates and costs are always fair. They never try to pressure us into unnecessary things or up charge services.
When I realized I had a flat tire on my way to work, my first call was to Hammers. They were able to take care of my car the same day and give me a loaner vehicle to get to work. Super grateful for Collin and everyone else behind the scenes!
Originally after my "car dealership" repair guy where I purchased my vehicle shrugged his shoulders when asked about a $350 repair (something I never had to replace in my 40 years of driving) on a 3 year old car I fired them and found Hammers Auto. I have been very happy with their service and honesty at every visit. Collin is great! And love getting a loaner instead of sitting in a waiting room for an hour and a half for an oil change like I did at the "top" car dealer. Very glad I gave Hammers Auto a try! I now go for all my regular maintenance needs.

I have come here multiple times for car repairs. Instead of driving my car all the way to the west side, waiting in line in a crowded waiting room, for my 2008 ford focus, I can go here.
The final cost is always below the estimates, the fixes recommended are always discussed and reasonable, and I needed a loaner car at the last minute and got one no questions asked. Support your local businesses like this one.
We had a great experience with Hammer. They made sure our car was road worthy - saving us time, money and an additional visit. Everyone was very pleasant, polite, friendly and professional. We plan on going back for service in the future. Our son and DIL have also had good experiences with them.
We recently picked up a huge nail while on the interstate near Sun Prairie, WI. We stumbled across Hammers Auto Service Shop and were happy we did. They repaired the tire very quickly and got us back on our trip. It was an incredibly hot day and they welcomed us and our Corgi into the cool lobby to wait. We were very pleased with their service, cleanliness and friendliness.
They either don’t know how to repair cars, or they know and are scamming. They charged me $200 for a multi-point inspection, and then about $300 for a new battery + labor. THEN they charged an additional $200 to “test the battery”. I could have watched a youtube video and changed my battery myself if I knew it would cost me $700. BEST PART is that now my car won’t turn on so their “multi-point inspection” and expensive labor wasn’t even good.
I can't say enough about Hammers Auto. I was literally rescued 98 miles from the shop. My son has been a customer and friend of theirs for many years. My granddaughter and myself were on our way to visit from FL, and broke down in the middle of nowhere. They got the truck towed and worked hard to get me back on road. We are back in FL and the truck ran like new on the way home. Thank you to everyone for your kind, courteous, professional help.
The staff were very friendly and were able to service my car for new tires and alignment, new front brakes, new battery, new air filter, and some other concerns they were able to address. They were able to get it done in one day, the rates were decent and provided upfront after they looked at my car which was nice. It was a really good experience overall.
Where to start. I scheduled an appointment two days in advance to get an oil change for a 94 Mustang garage kept with only 19,000 miles on it. I dropped the car off at 7AM for said oil change. Requested motorcraft oil filter as well as a qoute to replace the oil pan seal and or the rear main seal. I never received a qoute for either, now making sense because of the shops complete incompetence. After a brief discussion they noted my serpentine belt was cracking and should be replaced. I gave the green light to have the belt replaced along with the oil change. After 3 phone calls telling me they could not find the right belt (blaming the cars age) they also informed me the oil change was not performed either. All this 15 minutes before closing. I had one condition leaving my collectors car there when I scheduled the appointment and that was they could not keep the car overnight. The only solution they could offer me was to keep the car overnight. That said, they put the cracked serpentine back on and I drove away 10 hours later with no oil change or any other completed services. I'd stay away from this business, completely understaffed and lack experience needed to satisfy their customers. Completely disappointed.
Traveling to see family and could actually hear the air leaking from a tire. Pulled off the interstate looked up and just like an angel there was Hammers Auto! Stopped in and they were soooo kind and helpful. Quickly fixed us up and got us on our way. Highly recommend !
Collin and team were very helpful with a very strange issue my car was going through. I had been to 2 other shops prior that either did not feel comfortable troubleshooting anymore or could not figure out the issue on my VW Jetta.
Hammers Auto was able to to get to the bottom of the issue and finally fixed my vehicle after going through multiple mechanics and attempts elsewhere.
Collin and Jessica have been wonderful with helping us with all of our car maintenance needs! After moving to the area, my husband and I were looking for a reputable place to take our cars. The staff has been informative, patient with any questions, honest (doesn't try and push any services that aren't needed) and has helped us out in a pinch with getting our car taken care of on short notice. I recently ran into an issue with my car that I needed to be inspected and tried to make an appointment at a big local dealer but I couldn’t get in. I have driven past Hammer Auto on and off for about a year now and decided to try them. I could not have been happier! They got my car in and diagnosed promptly and their customer service was excellent. Their ended up being a billing issue (on their end) that they noticed the next day and brought it to my attention right away. I could not be more appreciative of their honesty, service work and customer service. Thanks again to Hammer Auto!
I love Hammer's Auto. If I ever need anything done on my car, they are the ones I call. They can almost always get me in right away and their prices are definitely fair. I've had brakes and suspension work done there (as well as odds and ends, headlights, etc.) and know that I can trust Hammer's. They are super quick with repairs but also have courtesy vehicles if it's going to take a bit longer. I won't take my car anywhere else now. Their shop is also super clean, hand's down the nicest auto shop I've been in.
