I picked my car up today from the body shop due to a run in with a deer. I stopped to get gas & my battery was dead. One of your drivers was taking a break in the parking lot. I hobbled over to his truck to ask for help. He was so kind and said he would be right over. The gentleman boosted my car & then proceeded to make sure it was the battery & not the alternator. I was ever so grateful for his kindness & professionalism. I highly recommend this company for your needs. I will certainly call them up if I find myself in need again. I didn't get the drivers name but he just happened to be on J Clyde Blvd around 10am today. Please express my sincere appreciation to him.

Needed a wrecker...Jay came to the rescue. Jay was very polite and never looked upset. The motor couch had significant towing problems. All is great. Tidewater thanks for a great job and special thank you to Jay.

Our semi needed fixed and we’ve used them before mainly for inspections and took our Kenworth in Monday around 11am, was told they would try to get to it by the end of the day, if not first thing Tuesday. Well here it is Tuesday late afternoon and still haven’t even looked at it and can’t promise to even look at it tomorrow. We could have easily taken to another shop on Monday but trusted them. Which we just did. If downtime is important to you do not come here!

Maybe your drivers shouldn't cut other drivers off. No, there was no warning, just turned in front of me on Effingham the other day. Glad I had good brakes.

Our fifth wheel burned up a bearing in the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel and we did but we did NOT know it until several people pulled up alongside in tunnel and pointed to the RV. I looked in the rear view mirror and smoke and sparks were coming from the front tire area and then a fire ensued. We stopped in the tunnel and my wife grabbed the fire extinguisher and put the fire out. VDOT tunnel personnel assisted us safely to the south island. Cory, a contractor was assisting us and highly recommended Tidewater Express. I called Tidewater Express and within 30 minutes, C.J. (the mechanic) called and we discussed our situation. C.J. arrived an hour later as he had come from another job and I had the tire off and had already determined the bearings were toast. We could not get the axel spindle off because it had gotten too hot, C.J. tried the torch, but no luck. This is a triple axle fifth wheel, so the only option was to drive it slow somewhere safe. So, Ft. Monroe campground was 4 miles away and this was late afternoon/evening rush hour traffic. VDOT stopped west bound traffic, so we could safely get on 64. C.J. followed us in his wrecker truck with his caution lights on all the way to the campground. C.J. determined exactly what we needed to facilitate the repair and I ordered all the parts to next day shipped to Tidewater Express. Their schedule is backed up, but they are going to squeeze us in first thing in the morning (12/7) and have us on the road before noon. All I can say is ALL these folks I talked to are top notch!!! From Deloris, Aaron, Mike, and most importantly C.J.!!!! I can’t say enough positive things about him. He is just a great guy first off with a ton of knowledge and experience. His personality and professionalism was perfect for my wife and I during this extremely stressful situation. Thank you C.J. and all the good people at Tidewater Express!!!

One star because they came out. Then the tech said the company was only paying for 3 hrs of work and that was not enough time for him to troubleshoot my problem. I suggest cleaning a few parts to see if they were just clogged, and he refused because he wasn’t certain that was the issue. Horrible service. Wasted an hour of my time before I caught on that he was just stalling, so I sent him away. I miss the days were techs actually came out and tried to help drivers. Sickening.

Took them over 6 hours to get to my road side repair due to one of there trucks going down. They pushed everyone off till they could get there own truck back up. Won't be seeing them anytime soon

I love these guy! Delores is the BEST!!!! We use them for our company passenger/handicap vans. Great service, knowledge, attitude, towing crew, flexibility, just Everything is awesome. Hampton location is perfect for us too!

Truck and trailer with livestock broke down coming out of the HRBT Thursday 6/8. After calling for them to come out relaying to dispatch the address they were going to and we’re told it would be 90 minutes…2.5 hours later a wrecker shows up, hooks everything up and asks where the livestock is going, we told him the address and he refused to tow to the address given to dispatch. He said he had already been off for an hour and dispatch told him to tow us to their Hampton lot. When we asked what we’re supposed to do with our livestock he said it wasn’t his problem and that we can call someone else and left. He left over 100 livestock and their handlers on the side of the HRBT for 6 hours. Thankfully it wasn’t hot and the livestock didn’t die while waiting for another wrecker

Truck fell in a ditch. Called these guys and explained them the situation. Informed them that the troopers can come any minutes and if they can arrive before the troopers call their own guys which would’ve been a hefty fee. These guys came within 10 mins of me calling maybe even faster tbh. Best service I have received so far from a towing company, if you are ever in need of service kindly give them a call. Thank you guys.

We had a brand new, used RV, that would not start and even though it was still under warranty none of the Chevy dealerships would take it for service. Thankfully Tidewater Express can do mobile service at your home and CJ was there on time and did exceptional work to figure out what was going wrong, getting the right part to get it fixed, and making sure everything was ready for us to use the RV before he left. MICHAEL WAS TRULY AWESOME! For me in an RV with dual wheels and an inside tire shredded was a total fiasco. AAA with the RV plan was useless. Nice to have a pro respond in a time of need. Thank you Michael!

James is the man! Never fails to diagnose the root cause of problems with our fuel trucks at the Newport News airport! Very professional and courteous as well. Borders on magician status at times and we really depend on him for a lot! James is now no longer the technician we get. We now get CJ. We wondered if the quality of service would drop but it hasn't. CJ is just as good as James was and we hope he is as treasured an employee! Looking forward to working with CJ more!

I called a day in advance to schedule for buying a vehicle that wasn’t currently running AND low to the ground and we had Micah help us out. He was very patient with us being from out of town and meeting at the location (he even got there before us!), and he was all around very friendly. He made me think he was excited to be the lucky one to tow the old NA Miata lol

Very convenient. The mechanics pulled right up switched out my radiator in 2 hours . I like the fact that I was able to get this done so fast and was able to get back to work. Highly recommended!!!

Great shop. I had a brake chamber go out early morning. Called as soon as they opened and said they could work me in sometime. Had my guy out by noontime. Definitely recommend.

We had a building moved from Newport News to Va. Beach and even though my husband set up the move I was here to meet the driver . The driver was Amanda and she was on time, knowledgeable , professional and safety minded. As a female business owner it's always nice to see other women in what is mostly male dominated businesses. Absolutely amazing customer service. We were broken down and stranded. We had our truck hauling a car and all, they came to our rescue. Got us in that day, helped walk our dogs are we got our stuff unloaded. They went above and beyond for us. Just absolutely amazing team!!! Thank you guys for everything!

Called at 10:15 am and was told it would be two hours before I could get my motorhome towed. Waited almost 61/2 but finally got towed after calling main office and wasting my whole day,but at least in the end they came through

Full service. Full stop. They towed my busted axel car into their shop within 3 hours of me calling lare on an off day. They gave me honedt options at a fair price and bought my lemony wreck when i decided to cut my losses. Good people.

Bill was a nice guy , but when it took him longer to unload and load his equipment then to pull the machine out of the mud. Then they wanted to charge a minimum of two hours for a five minute job .The dispatcher said, it would be 250 an hour, but when he was done 15 mins later they charged me 500. I'm going to stick with Dale Old. I suggest you do the same. That's definitely bad business.

Excellent service. We had an experience with an idiot from superior towing in Newport news. These guys came from Hampton and provided above excellent service. I have found that when you get quality service you make sure they know to continue to receive the credit they deserve. Superior Towing is POS!

Tidewater Express has a few locations, we happened to go to this one. John and Mike were amazing, so professional and knowledgeable ! They came out to the RV park that we were staying at (1-2 hrs away), to do the repairs so we could get on the road. We then decided to get new tires for our travels, and took it into the Hampton shop, all the workers were so very friendly, professional and did a great job. Pat, the service manager worked with our insurance company so we didn't have to. The whole experience was wonderful and we would recommend them to anyone who wants to deal with good, professional, honest people!
