Very Fair pricing and Honest. We had a brake inspection...Another chain gave us an estimate and told us we needed rotors and breaks front and back when in reality the front only needed pads, savings us about $350! Thank you Breedens Auto!
I went to get my car inspected recently I went in there told them I just wanted my car inspected they said okay I asked how much it was they said 20$ I said okay I come back to get my car when they told me it was done, when they told me it would be 60$ I said the inspection is only 20$ they adjusted my headlights without asking my permission no call or nothing and then they lost my keys and couldn’t find them so they called someone that worked there and they left them in another customer car so the other customer had to come all the way to give me my keys I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!! That is very ridiculous.
I called in because my car was making a grinding sound when I was turning. They were able to schedule me for a few days later. When I arrived for my appointment, they were all friendly and it only took about 15-20 mins for them to diagnose it. The brakes were bad. They gave my the quote and informed me it could be done ASAP. Went ahead and approved it to move forward and I was out of there by 3pm. Didn't hear a noise anymore and the brakes felt great. Speedy, reliable, and most importantly trustworthy. I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me anything more than what I needed. As a young, single, female that is important to me when I'm going to a mechanic. Thank you all, I will refer you to everyone I know!!
Use to go there but tried to get vehicle inspection, guy turned into a nut saying I had an inspection that was already denied, ripped my sticker off didn't give me a red 15 day repair sticker and was very nasty. I found my repair receipt after I paid for an attitude, rip sticker and a list I had repair ed already. Honestly never went through this before. His behavior was not rational. Won't ever go there anymore.
Amazing customer service and job on fixing my oil leak. Oil line blew and they quickly relaxed it with a metal line so no more worries of it happening again. Had my Highlander towed and within 3 days it was fixed! Will definitely start bring all my cars here for oil changes and everything else.
1st time I ever used them for a state inspection, it was front breaks, rear back up light and a windshield wiper blade, they failed me for having a LED bulb in my tag light and a nice led kit in my headlights. The only reason i did the head lights is the truck from the factory you couldn't see 2 feet down the road. the LED are much safer to drive with. I think theses shops are literally ripping people off. I tried to keep it local away from big box stores and boy do i regret trying to help out a small local shop. Will never go there again, they are not also very friendly to outsiders.
Didn't know my car had tint on windshield, they realized after they reaped the old state inspection sticker, of course they rejected the inspection and I need to fix it too, no apologies no nothing
Was quoted a price to have some repair work done on Jeep oil cooler housing...6 months ago. Finally ready for service and it's the same price, they also advised a few extra fixes while she was open. Great people, great garage, with great prices. Highly recommend this shop.
Breeden's has been my mechanic for more than 20 years.I tried a few mechanics when we moved here and Breedens always had the best service, fair prices and fixes my vehicle. A few times I have had to use someone else due to them being fully booked with appointments and each time I get a bogus list of failures, suggestions and more. I have Breedens review it and every single time they are not true.
Every business has their shortfalls and things can be overlooked but that doesn’t mean they are bad, they are human and just like you can make a mistake.
If you are looking for an honest mechanic, one who knows their customers by name, knows your vehicles and has integrity, I would highly recommend Breeden’s in Locust Grove. Small family hometown service who cares.

I’m from out of state, but was going to be in the area and needed brakes and shocks. I booked an appointment two weeks in advance, convinced that this shop was the right choice based on trusted customer reviews. I was told it would be a straightforward, one-day job. I had asked for a quote and they said they would get back to me with a quote. They never did. “No worries”, I thought. I had a rough estimate of what I thought it would cost and everyone said they offer fair prices. Fast forward to today, and I am beyond frustrated.
When I arrived at 0800 to drop my car, I had asked again for my quote. I was handed a sheet of paper that was dated September 11, 2024. They had the quote for almost two weeks and didn't bother to tell me. The work on the quote was also for “front brakes” when I mentioned, the work should be for “rear brakes” the receptionist said “yeah, I saw that”.
I called around 3pm to see how progress was going on my car. The receptionist said, “I don’t have anything yet” and hung up. No time estimate, and the shop closes at 5pm. I decided to drive back over there around 4pm. After leaving my car there for a whopping 8 hours, my car was still parked where I had left it this morning, they didn’t even touch it! To make matters worse, they failed to inform me that the parts for the shocks wouldn’t arrive until the next day. I asked if they at least did the brakes, to which they said, "No". I took my keys and left. Essentially, I wasted an entire day without so much as a phone call or update.
The lack of communication and respect for my time is inexcusable. If you’re looking for a reliable mechanic, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place clearly doesn’t value its customers or their time.
We just moved to the Spotsylvania Courthouse area and my son's 2007 Honda Civic EX needed a new starter. After looking for a family owned auto repair shop with good reviews, we decided to give Breeden's a call. They had the car fixed quickly, at a reasonable price, so we will certainly go back there when our other cars need service.
The entire crew, from Bella the greeter to the mechanics, are above and beyond. Came in under estimate and replaced and repaired everything I needed them to do. All in a timely manner given the parts came from the Midwest, one was out with COVID, and one was working handicapped with a broke hand. They were recommended by the owner of Johnson's garage, which are both not my usual vehicle maintenance place. It's a hike out there from Mineral but well worth the gas to get there.
I can't say enough good things about this shop. Everyone goes out of their way to help you, and Tommy is honest. Susan is so sweet, too. They are always accommodating, and it is greatly appreciated. I won't go anywhere else unless I am forced to.
Quality service. Well trained. No one else was able to tell me tps sensors only last 8 to 10 years. I had been to several tire shops and one other garage. Tire shop "rebuilt" the tps sensors.which did not work..
First time using this establishment. I had a slow tire leak and needed it plugged. I was able to drop my car off the night before and it was ready within a reasonable amount of time. The pick up process was smooth and easy with no one trying to upsell me on services. Bella, the adorable and friendly but not too pushy pup, was a highlight as well. You might say shes the furry mascot of the shop.
Breeden's is a family owned business. They are honest, helpful, and upfront about costs.
I have been taking our cars, truck, and motorcycles there for over six years.

Love this place. We take all our family cars here, have always had amazing service. They all are friendly, they explain repairs and make sure it’s done right. There’s a waiting room with a clean bathroom and if you’re incredibly lucky, Bella the dog will be there to keep you company. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend.
Inspection was quick and easy. In and out in less than 30 mins and even got to spend some time with Bella the company greeter (pictured). Professional and courteous staff!!! I’ll be back
This is one rewiew that was hard to post. I have been doing business with Breedens for 18 years and have had a very good relationship with Tommy and his employees up until a couple of weeks ago. I brought my car in for a wheel sensor failure. I was told sensor was replaced and that the error code would be cleared once they upgraded their software and to return a couple of days later. I returned and waited an hour only to find out the code would not clear.
Tommy said he got the part from Autozone (Lake of the Woods).
He didnt know why the code could not be cleared and suggested the part migjt be bad. He said he would refund the cost of the part but not the labor. I took my car to Volvo of Fredericksburg and they replaced the wheel sensor and cleared the code. They gave me the part that Breedens had installed and it was NOT an aftermarket part it was aVolvo part.I went to Autozone with my invoice from Breedens and had them look up the part number that they used, AutoZone had no such number and furthermore they do not sell original parts from Volvo. He told me Breedens did not get this wheel sensor from them. Tommy swore to me that it did come from Autozone. I can no longer trust him nor respect him for the way he handled this situation. It does not please me to say Breedens is a dishonest business and should be avoided.
My family takes all of our vehicles here! They are honest and do quality work! Even though I moved 45 minutes away, I still make the drive to bring vehicles here because they are the most trustworthy shop I have found.
Almost impossible to get an immediate appointment but if you have the time, depending on the reason, they will usually try to fit you in someplace. The staff is SUPER friendly and they have an office dog that loves people and her stuffed toys. Prices are a little high but they make up for it in customer service. I have used them in the past and will continue in the future. Unfortunately one of our tires got burned with something hot while in their garage and we had a flat tire by the time we got home (less than 10 miles). We were able to patch it once home and that is the only reason I did not give 5 stars.
I dread the yearly inspections... Sitting in a dank, boring, slow auto shop.. well this place is hands down the BEST shop I have been too! The lady behind the counter I spoke to was the sweetest! I had my two year old with me and she offered her cartoons on the TV and was very nice to us! Their dog Bella was also a sweetheart! She loved my daughter and kept her occupied while my van was getting inspected! We were in and out within 30 minutes. We seriously weren't ready to leave yet and I can't wait to go back because we fell in love with Bella the border collie!
Awesome! Awesome place to take your vehicle. Very friendly and caring customer service. Mr. Breeden and his crew always goes above and beyond to help you. That kind of service you don't see anymore. I will always take my vehicles to Mr. Breeden.
