Local Vietnamese family owned shop. They were able to diagnose the issue with my car very quickly and didn't try to upsell me anything. They were very upfront and kind. Would definitely recommend this spot especially if you're having a vehicle emergency
This place was recommended to me when my alternator died. The service was fast and the price was very fair! I highly recommend this place based on my experience.
I went to this place today to have my right wheel bearing checked. The technician, Vu (or Vince), said he would test-drive my car to confirm the issue and then call me afterward.
However, when he did call, he informed me that the right wheel bearing had already been replaced, even though I was not notified beforehand. On top of that, he suggested that I should have all the tires replaced. Which I refused. When I picked up the car, the initial issue was not resolved and he refused to refund.
When my family came back later to confront him, he blamed me, saying that I had told him to change it. Because of this experience, I do not recommend Octane Auto Care to anyone.
Had an emergency flat tire, and luckily I was close by. They were able to locate the puncture and patch up the tire within 10 minutes for a very reasonable and affordable price. Service was professional and efficient.
What a fantastic discovery!!!! Octane Auto not only fixed my elderly Hyundai, a complicated repair according to a YouTube vid of someone doing it, but finished it in RECORD time with a price so reasonable, I had to ask them again because I thought I'd heard it wrong!! In an age where disappointment, frustration and crazy expenses rule the day, especially with car repairs, Octane Auto has renewed my hope in mankind. This is an excellent auto shop to get your car repaired. They are fast honest very well experienced. If you need any kind of car repair, do not hesitate to go to them. I highly recommend it.
Alignment is bad. They did not give me the alignment report when I asked. They said the printer was not working. I did not believe it but what could I do? I had to pay them anyway. Don’t come here. Bring your vehicle to different place.
Owner is my long time friend. Honest, excellent mechanics. When the dealer cannot fix your car, bring it to him. He can fix all cars but I call him Honda Buddha bc he used to work at Honda dealers for 20+ years.
Amazing service, very honest and wonderful people here. They changed my tail light and buffed a dent out. This is the only place I’ll go to for repairs! I highly recommend this place, wonderful service!
An engineering friend recommended this place to me over ten years ago, and to date, the quality of service holds. This year, my parents even switched from dealership-lifers to Octane Auto loyalists. It may take a littler longer than your local dealership, but you don’t get cheated and the outcome is worth waiting for.
I absolutely do not recommend alignment here. They inspect the print while it is damaged, but after the process is over, I don't know how they fixed it, and they don't give me paper for the proofreading process. If the printer is broken, you should not receive customers, and not giving out prints after the original is finished is rash, and even if there is a problem, it is impossible to know what the problem is, so alignment is not recommended here. Absolutely. Never go. Recommended 0
No nonsense, honest car repair in Annandale. It may be very no frills but they are hard working, affordable, and did very good work on my wife’s car. The rear brakes passed the VA safety inspection like I knew they would. Will be back for future work on the car.
Best kept secret! We’ve been taking our cars to Inho for 10 years and he always goes above and beyond. My most recent shenanigans included my bad alternator draining my battery ON THE WAY to Octane. There I was smack dab in the middle of traffic with no hazards, no battery, no hope. But Kenny hauled out his jumper box and walked all the way to my car to jump and bring it in for me. These guys are top notch all around and I’d never take my car anywhere else.

This is my third time taking my car to Octane for Oil Change. This time I asked them to replace the brake fluid and tire rotation as well. Reasonable price, wait time is good. My recommendation is to give them a call in advance and bring the car to the shop early in the day.

It’s rare to find an auto shop that values trust over just seeing customers as dollar signs, and Octane Auto Care has excelled in this aspect.
Got a last minute oil change through them for an emergency road trip, and they were both quick and nice enough to also top off the air in my tires as well. My car had no problems with the drive there and back.
2023 Update: Still happy, so very grateful to these guys. They are so honest and good-natured. I have a brother who is an auto mechanic, and after 10 years of coming to Octane Auto, it feels like my auto-family has extended to them.
2019: Fast, honest, and thorough work. Unlike dealership vibes of overselling and under-providing, Octane Auto is authentic about their work. A family friend recommend them to me years ago and they have kept my cars going since.
It's always hard to find a shop that you feel you can trust. They know a lot more about these kinds of things than the average person, so how can you know if they're being honest or trying to fleece you? With that being said, I'm happy to have found this shop. I do trust them, and have taken my car here several times already, and plan to continue to take it here.
Terrible communication both within the business and to the customer.
Turned it in and didn’t get it back for 16 days. Wouldn’t have been so mad about it, but the reason everything took so long was because the receptionist never notified the mechanic that I authorized the repairs. Every person I spoke to on the phone told me a different ready date, so I turned my rental car in nearly a week too soon. After 14 days, they said it was ready, so I paid- but couldn’t even leave the parking lot because it was actually not ready yet. They also did not let me know about a new issue I need to repair until the 14th day, and wouldn’t tell me when they actually diagnosed the new problem… Took 2 more days but they even tried to push that to 3.
A long time customer. I highly recommend this shop. Their services are trustworthy, reliable, and best-value; it's everything you can ask from your full services mechanic. On several occasions this shop helped me by recommending only the minimum required services compared to dealership estimates.
Called all the local repair shops after running over a ninja star and Octane was the only shop that took me in right away on a Saturday afternoon. Call it lucky but the service and wait time was worth the wait if there was one. Inspected my issue as soon as I arrived and went to find a replacement tire as the ninja star cut was too large. Issue was resolved promptly and I was able to go on with my day while my family was enjoying a meal while I went for this service. The owner took care of my issue as he mentioned he was covering for one of his employees, this made for an overall nice experience and felt good to thank the owner directly. This place is highly recommended!
I’m a first time car owner and it’s my first time bringing a car in. The owner spoke English fluently and was to the point. No upselling and he leaves you alone after the initial diagnosis. He seems to be well loved in the community as others dropped by to say hello. Was in and out pretty quickly and the price was less than I expected. The battery was a good brand and I appreciate a no frills approach. Will be coming back here!

We take 3 cars there for service, and have done so for over a year. They consistently meet or exceed our expectations. They are honest, reasonably priced and highly competent. They are usually very busy, but if you are patient, they will come through for you.
A week after an oil change, my car made strange noises when I'm driving. I thought something terribly went wrong and I contacted this mechanic; he took the car and told me "there's not enough oil in the car." I paid $5 to top up the low engine oil; the problem was resolved. Others may have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge and said something else to collect 100 bucks or so. I could have given $100 easily without question because I thought something was wrong terribly but it wasn't so and he was honest enough to tell me he's just going to take $5 from me. This is why I recommend this place as the right spot to come.
