great experience! Friendly customer service & Fast service on checking my car.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Kingwood Tire and Auto. My car would not start after my gear shift locked while I was reversing out of my driveway. I called the shop, and Anthony arranged for a third-party tow company (emc towing) to bring my vehicle in. The tow driver told me the charge would be $85, which I agreed to. The next morning, Anthony called and said there was an electrical issue because the car was not registering that it was in park. He also stated there would be a $200 diagnostic fee. When I asked for my total including the tow, he mentioned $135 for the tow. I informed him that the tow driver had quoted me $85. He insisted $135 was correct. Before signing anything, I contacted the tow company directly and was sent a copy of the receipt. They confirmed the tow was $85 and stated they did not know why I was being charged $135. When I called Anthony back with this information, he continued arguing and insisted I owed $135. When my sister and I arrived at the shop to pay, Anthony told us he could charge whatever he wanted and that we could not retrieve the vehicle unless we paid $135. He was dismissive toward my sister and questioned why she was speaking, and simply disrespectful. I called the tow company on speaker phone in front of him, and they again confirmed that $85 was the correct charge and Anthony was upcharging me. Anthony continued to claim otherwise. As we were leaving the building, Anthony loudly yelled, “Every time you come here it’s always something with you,” in front of customers and staff. For context, I have only been there for maybe 3 routine oil changes and have never caused any issues as I’m on my macbook doing homework until checkout. Anthony called me back and suddenly said I could pick up my car for $85 but told me not to return because I “always start problems.” When I asked him to explain what problems, he could not provide an answer. He then went on saying that I never pay for my services, which is weird because every bill I’ve ever received, I paid. He also said I never pay for them for the ride home, which was on 1 occasion (I was informed that it was a complimentary service). When we returned with my sister’s husband, Anthony adjusted the charge to $85. My sister’s husband inspected my vehicle himself and discovered there was no electrical issue at all. The problem was simply a small $15 gear shift component that needed replacement. There was no justification for a $200 diagnostic fee for an electrical issue that did not exist. I was able to drive my car home immediately after. This entire situation felt dishonest and highly unprofessional. I was spoken to disrespectfully, overcharged for a tow, and quoted for a major diagnostic issue that turned out to be incorrect. Customers deserve transparency, respect, and honesty — none of which I experienced here. I will not be returning Anthony, thank you.

They upfront people were greatly. The technology was excellent. The attitudes were right. I was happy with the service.

Excellent service. Staff is friendly. So convenient. In my neighborhood also.

My car's air bag alarm light was on. I asked them if they could fix it. They confirmed that they could repair any air bag alarm issues. After running diagnostics, they said it would be better if I take my car to a dealer to have the alarm fix. I paid $199 for nothing!

I got a coupon in the mail for an oil change with a free tire rotation. Scheduled an appointment for 10am and was told multiple times it would only take about 45 minutes. After 2 hours they still had not touched my truck. When I asked why is it taking so long the fed me some excuse about needing a special lift for my vehicle. They told me they just cleared the lift and we’re about to pull my vehicle in. I waited another 30 minutes and the still had not pulled my truck into the bay to start on it. I asked for my keys back and left. This place is a waste of time.

Great service. Fast, efficient and ethical. Abranda was very knowledgeable and had excellent customer service. They took care of my Maserati and I will be bringing all of my kids cars here as well.

Abranda took the best care of me, ensuring everything was handled and seamless. She went above and beyond any other repair shop I’ve been to, definitely check them out!

We received a flyer in the mail for an oil change special and decided to call, as we wanted to bring in multiple vehicles. From the very first phone call, David made a lasting impression. He was professional, welcoming, and immediately put us at ease. He assured us he could take care of everything and even included a complimentary tire rotation and car wash, genuinely expressing that he wanted to earn our business. It has been a long time since we’ve experienced customer service at this level. As owners of a marketing company, we firmly believe that a business’s strongest asset is its team—and with people like David, Kingwood Tire and Automotive Service can only continue to succeed. We highly recommend Kingwood Tire and Automotive Service for all your automotive needs. They are now our go-to for all of our vehicles. Be sure to ask for David—he truly is the best.

Needed a complete break overhaul for my BMW. I also had a front bumper cover that needed attention. David, Abranda, and their mechanics were professional, friendly and easy to work with. Thanks for going the extra mile to get my car in working order.

Branda at kw tire and auto is spectacular. Brought my truck there last week, she sent me photos of the job and ordered the parts. When they sent the wrong part she went and picked up the correct one personally. Will absolutely be using them again I hope branda is recognized for her professionalism and executional customer service.

Kingwood Tire does a great job. Took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation and they told me I needed new front breaks. I knew it was getting close with just hitting 50,000 miles and a little squeal backing out of driveway occasionally. Thank you Kingwood Tire.

I brought my vehicle to Kingwood Tire & Auto on June 25, 2025 for a full brake job (pads and rotors), paying $1,988.51. From the moment I picked up the car, the brakes squealed loudly every time I stopped. Over the next nearly five months, I returned multiple times for the same issue. Each visit I was told the problem was fixed, but the noise never stopped. On October 23, 2025, I was told the issue was “defective calipers” and charged an additional $1,342.27. That diagnosis turned out to be incorrect, as the brake squeal continued immediately after that repair as well. In November, after yet another drop-off, I was told they would try OEM parts but that this would be the last attempt and that my 3-year warranty would be voided, with the issue being blamed on “user error.” This was the first time any claim of “user error” or “glazed rotors” was ever mentioned after months of failed repairs. When I went to pick up my vehicle on November 22, 2025, I was told I would not be given my keys unless I signed a warranty termination clause. I refused to sign away a warranty that was sold to me. The shop then refused to release my vehicle until I called the police. After officers arrived and mediated, the shop wrote “customer will not sign” on the form and returned my keys. This experience involved repeated misdiagnosis, charging for repairs that did not fix the problem, inconsistent explanations, and an attempt to force me to waive my warranty in order to retrieve my own vehicle. I strongly recommend documenting everything if you choose to use this shop and considering other options for brake or repair work.

Came to this place to get 4 new tires mounted and balanced and left very satisfied with the service. Wes was behind the desk and was fantastic and knowledgeable. Their pricing was decent and budget friendly. I definitely will be back for future services. Thank you so much.

DO NOT COME HERE! INCREDIBY DECEPTIVE! All the one star reviews are absolutely on point. They tried to upsell repairs and claim $1000 in repairs for a 5 hour job and wanted to upsell me for a total of $3300 for shocks along with the original issue. I ended up taking my suv to another repair shop on aldine mail who literally took less than 30 minutes to fix (transmission shift cable popped off and transmission was stuck). I spent more having my SUV towed to the shop and to the other mechanic shop and their diagnostic fee then with the other mechanic (Charged me $50...gave him an additional 50$ tip). I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE...unless you like throwing money away.... Oh that's cute THESE GUYS APPARENTLY HAVE TWO GOOGLE POSTINGS TO TRY TO HIDE THE BAD REVIEWS. GUESS WHAT I'm POSTING HERE TOO.

This oil change was a very positive experience for me. I was recommended by a friend who had use KT&A for many years. The coupon she gave me saved almost $100 over a dealership for same services. I was met by a friendly greeting, assisted right away. I waited in a very comfortable easy chair, in a great-temperature room. The service was efficient, i was told about other services to consider but was NOT pressured to do them. I'll be back! Great service experience!

Great customer service, They were efficient, well priced and even shuttled me home inbetween waiting for my service to be completed! What a great shop! Definitely the only shop i’ll be using from now. Ty guys!

One Star (only because Google won’t let me leave zero) I sent my 18-year-old daughter to Kingwood Tire & Automotive for a simple battery replacement on her 2014 Honda CR-V. We got a flyer in the mail with a $50 “neighborly discount” and a promise to match competitor pricing. My mother had used them in the past, so I figured they were at least halfway trustworthy. That assumption cost us. The service advisor (Anthony) hit her with a $90 diagnostic fee right off the bat. For what? We already knew the battery was the issue. It’s a Honda CR-V, not a Ferrari. They knew she was young, alone, and not likely to challenge them. Classic predatory move. Then they made her sit there for five hours. For a battery. That’s not an exaggeration. Luckily, she found something to do nearby. But the wait time was absurd and unnecessary. The real kicker? They never gave her a written estimate. No quote. No authorization. No signature. They just did the work without permission and blindsided her with the final bill. The total came to $315.90, and that’s after I had to work on Anthony to shave something off. The original bill was well north of $350, but I can’t even tell you the exact number because they never put anything in writing. Nothing to approve. Nothing to review. Just a handshake scam dressed up like an invoice. Let’s talk about value. You can get a comparable battery installed at Walmart or Costco for under $200 total. RepairPal lists a fair market price for battery replacement on a Honda CR-V at $227 to $247. So even with their little “discount,” they still overcharged us by at least $100, possibly more. When I called to challenge this, Anthony kept interrupting me. Talked over me. Tried to justify the price with vague excuses and “your daughter was really nice” like that somehow excuses skipping basic consent. This isn’t just bad service. It’s shady, aggressive, and unethical. They rely on confusion, silence, and pressure to pad the bill after the fact. No transparency. No integrity. Just a trap for people who don’t know better or who they think won’t push back. Avoid this place. Tell your friends. Tell your neighbors. Kingwood Tire & Automotive is not an honest shop. They lost my business permanently, and I hope this review saves someone else the grief.

Overall, I was dissatisfied with the process. The checkin was mechanical, there was a sick child in the waiting room, and they took almost two hours to complete a 15 to 20 minutes process. I understand they did not have the part but I made an appointment which required that I give them the make and model of my car. You would think they would have planned ahead or moved my appointment. I came here for a coupon and I will not be coming back.

Will not be returning. Anthony was rude and condescending towards me but was very kind and gracious to the two men who came in after I did. Told him I did not want a service I did not come in for and he went and yelled to the mechanics “not to do it she can’t afford it”which wasn’t the case, I only wanted the oil change I asked for. After waiting almost 3 hours (partially due to a 30 minute power outage) for an oil change, Anthony was too busy on his cell phone to realize that my car keys were sitting right next to him. I had to ask what am I waiting for him to realize he had them. Only came here because of a flyer in the mail. If you’re a woman, do not come here.

Friendly, welcoming atmosphere that includes WiFi and large, comfortable chairs for waiting. Coffee bar with snacks and chilled, bottled water available. Picnic table outside, for use when the weather is nice. Very nice and clean restroom. Professional, helpful staff. Shuttle service available, for those who live close by, when the work will take more than one day. Quality work done by the mechanics, and in a timely manner. Always busy, an indication that the work done is excellent and pricing reasonable.

I highlyrecommend Kingwood tire and auto, Particularly Brandon. We changed my oil, changed cabin air filter, and topped off engine coolant, inverter, coolant, and brake fluid. Anthony at the desk was friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable and service was timely and thorough.

I brought in my 2015 VW Passat with the engine light on, and the team quickly diagnosed that the O2 sensor and coolant reservoir needed to be replaced. It’s not easy these days to find honest people and a shop you can truly trust, but I felt very comfortable with their service. Ms. Gina went above and beyond to help me, searching for the best price on the parts and keeping me updated along the way. I really appreciated her effort and professionalism. They also offered a shuttle service, which made everything so much more convenient while my car was in the shop. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy auto service

Yesterday my vehicle visited this shop for its annual state inspection and suffered damage that will ultimately cost thousands of dollars to restore the vehicle to how it was before they worked on it. Then upon completion of their unauthorized tear down it was released back to my wife in a condition unsuitable for use on public roadways…. This shop is one of many shops that serve to perpetuate the stereotypes that plague the industry, and as long as they keep playing shop in this manner it only serves to drag the rest of the industry down. Let's have a quick chat for a moment about consent. If someone brings their vehicle to you for service it is reasonable and prudent to perform a Preventative Multipoint Inspection on the vehicle during the course of the requested service to make them apprised of any issues developing on the vehicle, and provide estimates for any repairs they express interest in. Just about anyone would consider this of value. What isn’t OK is to keep a car for over 45 mins to carry out an unsolicited and unapproved funding expedition during what was understood as a simple Texas State Emissions Inspection. With the recent change in law now only requires you to check readiness monitors and verify MIL status. You must seek and obtain explicit consent outside of the context in which the keys were presented. You do not have carte blanche with every vehicle that comes in the driveway to do whatever you want to it. My wife was positively mortified when your Service Advisor tried to upsell her front lower wishbones due to cracks in the bushings, when she saw in your furnished photos and video that all four wheels along with the undercarriage liners had been removed for your rack attack inspection. She should have been in and out in 5-10 minutes if you adhered to the state guidelines. Texas State Law prohibits upselling of unnecessary components during the course of State Inspections. Now obsolete Texas inspection code also calls for a visual inspection of the wheel assembly only, with no provision to permit an inspector to remove the wheel assembly from the vehicle. This in my opinion, aside from just generally slimy, constitutes willfully acting in direct disregard for the spirit of the law. I’d care a whole lot less if you had not damaged my property in your single minded pursuit of monetary gain… but that isn’t what happened. My vehicle was driven onto and lifted with a two post lift, without permission. Undercarriage liners were removed from my vehicle without permission. All four wheels were removed from my vehicle without my permission. A 3 foot long pry bar was wedged between my subframe and control arm, leaving tool marks behind to exert force on the suspension without my permission. All four wheels suffered scratch and chip damage to the finish on the faces and around each and every single lug bolt recess from incorrect socket use with an impact gun. There is a deepwell thin wall plastic lined socket in the trunk. (HAZET 903SLG-17) designed to prevent damage to these wheels when servicing. I only remove & install wheels on my vehicles with hand tools specifically chosen to ensure no damage occurs. By taking it upon yourselves to sloppily remove the wheels with impacts without seeking permission you have caused considerable cosmetic damage. All twenty lug bolts on the car were severely over-tightened. None were torqued to anything remotely resembling specification. The torque spec for the lug bolts on my car as specified by the manufacturer is 105 Nm. The least tight lug after leaving your facility was 182 Nm, with most being in the 200 Nm - 240 Nm range, with several well into the 300 Nm range and the tightest of them all being 342 Nm as measured with my Snap-On ATECH3FQ300B. With applied torque well in excess of three times the specification this hardware is EXPENDED and the vehicle will not be operated on public roadways until all twenty lugs are replaced at your expense.

Went in today to get an oil change, after my mom went for her state inspection and had a wonderful experience. They were so quick, friendly, and the building is so nice! I have passed them for years, but never used them, until now. Going forward they will be my go to place. They didn’t try to up sell me on anything, which is always so nice!! The experience was a 10/10, and I recommend them to anyone for any service your vehicle needs! They do everything except body work!

WOW! This is the BEST repair shop I have been to since coming to Houston 4 years ago! Honest, knowledgeable mechanics and Gina at the front desk is AMAZING!! She makes the customers feel like welcomed guests!! I moved away from the Kingwood area and have tried other repair shops closer to my new apartment, but the others just do not stack up to the service and reliability I receive at KINGWOOD TIRE AND AUTOMOTIVE. Thank you for your exceptional customer service at reasonable prices! Update - 15 February 2023. Beautifully remodeled, clean, welcoming and comfortable waiting area / front desk. New owners, new and familiar faces, but still a hidden gem for tire and automotive repair needs.
