I’ve been returning here for probably 15+ years to service our Acura and Honda vehicles and have returned for 3 main reasons: quality of work, convenience (including scheduling, WiFi and the ability to work while I wait from a waiting area that helps make it easy for me to get work done) and price that's competitively lower than the dealer. Thank you to Dave and his team!

I take my car here regularly. They were able to get oil change schedule for the day I requested. Prompt service while I waited. Friendly shop, no unnecessary services suggested/performed. Comfy waiting room chairs, too!

I am usually pretty wary about bringing my car to a new shop, but they have earned my trust. I checked under the hood to make sure the new parts I requested were there and they were. I drove my car around for a while and experienced no issues. The prices are very fair too. It's about 25% less than at a dealership. I overheard the mechanic saying that they wanted to let the car run for an extra 15 minutes to make sure nothing weird happened with the new part, so it sounds like they care about the customer's safety too. UPDATE: I did end up having an issue with some work done, and they were so amazing at addressing it. They offered to take a look and redid the job for free and I was satisfied with the final product. I really appreciated how nice they were about it since some shops can be very defensive.

Rare to find an auto service place that is honest and fair. My dealer was pushing a lot of expensive services and telling me how it needed done ASAP and Japanese Automotive did a full inspection and let me know that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the things my dealer was trying to sell me. They gained a customer for life.

Communication of services and estimates are always so easy. I have never had an issue being able to schedule a repair, and they always complete it in a timely manner as quoted. I also love that JAS is a small business and everyone there is so smart and helpful! Update, about a year later: I continue to use JAS for my car care. I know I can trust their inspections, diagnoses of the problem, and prices. Still no issues with making appointments and getting repairs and replacements done!

This is definitely not a good place to take a car to be checked out or get an estimate.! Just wanted my AC to be looked at got charged nearly $150 to be told. I need to spend $2,800 to fix. You’re actually better off at the dealer in this situation they at least give you a free estimate. No, Future service here.

Efficiency and quality! The communication from beginning to end was quick, clear, and incredibly efficient. The logistic of dropping off, the option to pay online, and pick up (after hours) was amazingly user-friendly. I've never had such a positive experience with an auto shop. This is how customer service should be.

They ignore texts and then can't provide a quote without giving them way too much info. Shouldn't have to give you the cars license number and my full address just to get a quote via text. They apparently needed my info to put in their system since they were too lazy to look it up

Went in for a banging noise under the hood when I start the car in the cold. They kept my car for 2vweeks, charged me 2k to replace several items and the noise still continues. I was told the cannot recreate the noise them selves even after sending a video. They blamed a previous mechanic. Meanwhile my car is still not fixed. I will be looking for a mechanic that is not a scam artist.

I always recommend JAS to all my friends and family. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. SO knowledgeable. I never feel like I'm on an assembly line and each time I have ever taken my car in they always know what is wrong with it within minutes. It makes me feel really good, as a woman, to be seen and heard at an auto mechanic. I always get recommendations about how to take care of my car as well, and they let me know what is important to fix and what can be dealt with later. I appreciate their honesty so much. I feel like JAS is my partner. I'll never go anywhere else!

I brought my Toyota Prius (it was smoking badly) here after a dealer said it needed a complete engine replacement. David and his team worked tirelessly to determine the true cause. He also told us an engine replacement wouldn’t solve the problem. They did a great job, and they kept in touch constantly. So glad to have my car back.

Professional from the beginning to the end! When I first called I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their phone system and the friendliness of the owner and his staff. When I walked into the door for my appointment, it was very clean and they had drinks in a glass refrigerator for their customers. They inspected my car and texted me the complete rundown of the car that included pictures. They also referred me to a muffler shop because that wasn’t a specialty of theirs. A very great experience overall!!!

The starter on my 8th gen civic went out. Found this business and reviews looked fairly decent, figured I'd give them a shot. The quote over the phone was about what I was expecting, so I had my car towed to their shop and arranged for the work to be done over the phone. Before noon the next day, I had already gotten a text saying that the work was done and ready to pickup. Friendly staff when I picked the vehicle up and they explained the NAPA warranty should I ever need to use it. Out the door price matched the quote I had been provided previously. Overall, I had a good experience and will probably continue to use them in the future.

My car caught on fire fifteen minutes after leaving this shop - I took my car in for a general maintenance in March of 2022. They told me that the oil pressure switch was leaking and needed to be replaced, or else it ran the risk of causing a fire. Even though I hadn't experienced my car smoking or the smell of oil like they said, I agreed to the charge. The next day on my way home from the shop, my car began actually smoking and smelling of oil. Since they told me that the oil smell was to be expected after replacing the switch, I tried to make it back to my apartment to examine under the hood in the parking lot rather than stopping on the side of the road. Moments later, about fifteen minutes after I had left the shop, my car caught on fire. Thankfully a friend was driving home behind me, got me to pull over, and I was able to get out before the entire front of the car went up in flames. The firefighters who put out my vehicle said it seemed my car had been leaking oil, meaning the issue was caused by improperly replacing the oil pressure switch. The car was a total loss, and now I'm out the cost of a deductible, rental, and the "repairs". Any insurance money I got had to go to a new car. They're lucky that there wasn't more severe damage to me, other cars/people, and the surrounding buildings. If you ask me, reimbursement for the faulty maintenance work would be a small price to pay considering the circumstances.

I LOVE this dealership! Half the price of the Honda dealership and WAY better service! They have always been honest with me and extremely fair in their pricing! They truly want to have you become a loyal customer and not nickel and dime you, cannot recommend these people enough!!!

These guys have always been great. I can always count on them to be upfront and honest, they would never recommend you do any repair if they didn’t think it was necessary. Also, their prices are more than fair for the high quality of service they provide. I don’t see why i would ever take my vehicle anywhere else in this city.

We were looking for a second opinion on a used Mazda3 we were purchasing. Japanese Automotive was super helpful in setting up our appointment for a road test & overall check up for the car. Their Condition Report came the same day and they took time to explain all issues and what needed to be addressed now vs. later. They made communication of their process and our car status easy throughout the process. They were responsive, helpful and displayed a tremendous amount of expertise & integrity. A great business!

Extremely customer oriented, with very reasonable pricing. Even the actual mechanic who worked on my vehicle was very friendly and informative. The analysis of my vehicle and the recommended repairs was quite thorough; there were no surprises. The shop owner called and discussed items at every stage, and was always friendly and willing to answer my (seemingly endless) questions. It's a combination of qualities which is extremely rare these days!

I am consistently impressed with the service I receive from Japanese Automotive Services. David and Andrew are always friendly, prompt, honest, detail oriented and fair. I 100% trust them and will not go anywhere else with my Honda Pilot. They use mobile quoting and invoicing that is simple and easy to use on your phone. I really like that they communicate via text to provide timely updates. The Covid contactless experience is super easy and seamless.

My wife took her car to this shop for a simple oil change. I usually change our oil myself but we moved and don’t have a garage anymore so taking it to a shop was more convenient. She was very nervous being a woman and knowing shops can take advantage of her not knowing a whole lot about cars. They would not give a price estimate up front. Once she took it in the service was relatively quick, about an hour. She said the employees were very nice. However, they charged her $120 for the service with a $65 labor charge. She was there for an hour so something doesn’t add up. Once she left and started on the highway she noticed a pretty significant wobble and called the shop. She went back and they told her it was because she had one different tire than the rest (flat replacement) and that it should be fine. She was there for 15 minutes. They did not check the balance or offer any tests to see where the wobble was coming from. We will not be going back to this shop for any service at all.

Simply amazing. I will never take our two cars anywhere else for service. The new system for dropping off, reviewing service needs and picking up the car blew me away. All through text and emails, super simple and how I want to communicate. Very customer focused. I have worked with David and his team for years and they honest, fair, do get work and get our cars back on the road. If you are looking for a trustworthy shop who knows how to service your Infiniti, Acura, Honda, etc than look now further. Thank Japanese Automotive!!!

When I scheduled an appointment here, my 2012 Toyota Yaris was badly in need of service. Squealing sounds from the engine and nearly 100k miles on the car. Making the appointment was easy. I also requested for a rental car because I needed to get to work. I have previously serviced my car at big dealerships. The last few service requests were at a Toyota dealership and the quality of service commensurate to the price were mediocre at best. This place, however is an independent small business and I decided to take a chance on them. The staff are very kind and professional. I spoke at length with Andrew who had the patience and kindness to break it down for me. He helped situate me in the rental car and told me that he'd text me with a quote for the service. A few hours later I received the estimate for $100k mile service and the replacement of the alternator belt. At that time, I felt that this quote was on the higher side and about 20% above my expectation. Against my initial gut feel, I decided to go with the service and price because of the courtesy afforded during drop-off. And in the evening I picked up my car after paying them. When I turned on the car, the price justified the service. At nearly 100k miles my car feels as fresh as it was when I initially bought it. The motor runs silent and I feel like I can take this machine on a cross country trip without breaking a sweat. The quality of workmanship is second to none! This business knows what they're doing and they know it well! Professional, honest, courteous and skilled technicians. Needless to say, this business will be my choice and my family's choice and I will constantly recommend them to anyone in need to great automotive service!

I moved to the area last year and I have 3 Japanese vehicles. I needed to find an independent mechanic; someone who I could trust. I worked with David on my recently purchased vehicle, and couldn't be more happy with the quality of service and wealth of knowledge he has. As an added bonus, he has a vehicle similar to mine with well over 200k miles, so he knows what he's doing. If you're looking for a top quality, fairly priced, and honest shop for your vehicles, then this is the one for you!

David and Ivan have taken excellent care of my daughter and me for years now. They have been great about making sure only the necessary maintenance and repairs are performed and always take the time to explain what they are doing. Prices are reasonable and the work is always done right. We have an 02 Camry that runs like a champ and an 09 Corolla that does the same. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Last summer, my daughter got in an accident. I was on a trip and could not make it to her accident scene. I was able to contact David and he was able to quickly help us with an auto body recommendation so we could have the car towed. The first thing he asked me was "Is she OK?" That kind of personal interaction and character is exactly why I am a customer for life. The body shop did great work and David made a very stressful situation a lot easier.

We've been taking our Lexus cars here for years. They help me keep my '04 in tip top shape - still going strong! They also work on my husband's '07. Prices are very reasonable. Years ago, my husband's car needed a good amount of work - the dealer quoted roughly $4k for everything. We got it all done at Japanese Automotive for around $1k. We don't trust anyone else to touch our cars. I happen to know a lot about cars - I could work on our cars myself if I had the time and equipment. I know when an automotive place is trying to BS me or sell me on something that isn't necessary. Japanese Automotive does not do this! They are stand up guys who care about customers and repeat business. Ignore the haters and give them a try yourself!

This Car repair service is the most reliable, honest and friendly company I have ever used. They are willing to explain what needs to be repaired and why, and they have even kept me from spending extra money, and have discovered times when I needed repeat repairs and told me about it. Dave Waits and Ivan are great people, and let's face it. When you need your car repaired you want it done by someone who you can count on and treats you in the most cordial way.
