Had a great experience at Advance auto parts. Ordered on their web site and picked up at the store on S Sandusky St. order was ready and service was great. Nice people.
Purchased a Gold battery for my Harley from this store last September, so about 9 months ago. Battery was overpriced and employee pulled one that was well over a year old. Now that it has gone bad already I found out that this only a 90 day warranty instead of the usual 1+ warranty.
Edit: Did contact support and was told nothing they could do since beyond the warranty but issue me a $10 credit. The only reason I paid almost double for the battery vs other retailers was because the store was within walking distance of where I was at. I will not be shopping at Advance in the future and will encourage others to do the same.
Leah is amazing. The thermometer gauge on my van decided to break on a three hour trip back home. Leah helped me diagnose the problem as well as get the part and find a local mechanic. Coming from a manager in retail, this store is very lucky to have a team member like Leah.
They always take care of me when I go there in delaware .these guys are always on it.they really do try to take care of the prob..the big guy especially.did my wiper blade for me no prob..always polite never any prob. Here.thanks for people like the big guy.....i dont know his name but thanks man!!! Hey, I went there again and this time it was the manager.He put my windshield wiper on for me.That was pretty cool.I appreciate it, man.That if somebody needs a win.Dshield wiper to go there
I walked into the store and went up to the counter with three employees standing behind it, who never acknowledge me the whole 10 minutes I was there. Two were on the phone and the third one was listening to the other on the phone. They never even look at me the entire time. I turned around and walked out and still no acknowledgement
Always very helpful. Save yourself a few bucks however and buy online (always discounts) and pickup in the store. You might even order online as you shop in the store.
I've tryed numerous times to do commercial business with this place but for w.e reason its like I keep hitting a brick wall and my business isn't wanted. This all started because the commercial manager Leah had a bad experience selling a house to my ex business partner an somehow I keep getting the cold shoulder everytime I call in she says she gas to change to a different computer or something happens I have to go om hold. I'm om with holding but every single time I'm on hold so long that it hangs up on me numerous times. I've contacted Ryan the manager an that got me nowhere eithere I'm not sure way the problem is but I spend around 70k a year on new parts you would think they would want some or all of that.
Place has been there along time. Has a bit of everything. I bought Brake Calipers there and returned the core and got some money back. No problems at all. I'll def go there again.
I am a nurse and travel all over Delaware. My headlight has been out and I haven’t had the time to take off work to fix. Aaron at Advanced Auto switched it out for me and was super kind!
Friendly and knowledgeable sell staff. I would have given it five stars, however I just want a brake pads, they were out of stock, be a couple days possibly before they would come in so I bought the ceramic brake pads about $23 more expensive, but however they'll last longer. So I guess that's a trade up, wanted just a simple 10 mm socket or wrench, they were out. They should look at their tools and reorder.
You feel like family when you shop here. These guys know my trucks (i have several) and they ask about them when I walk in the door. "Hey hows that International running?" or "How's the Scout running?". They've become my "go to" for parts.
First advance we went to didn't have the part we needed. Guy at counter says you're outta luck, go to the one in Delaware. Period. Not that he can order the part, no type of concern. Just you're outta luck. Went to three different advance stores before we finally got the part we needed.
Very friendly staff, always quick to offer assistance! Just had a check engine light diagnosed here the other day. Social distancing and masks both utilized!

Problem is with the pricing. The games with coupons. Buy these to get this much off etc. What a crock. I just turned to buying parts on Amazon and getting them at my door, that's how I am able to get thr best prices.
Stinks because I liked going to the parts store but I don't need the run around on my wallet.
There is nothing I can say about the visit that would cause me to not go back for parts I need in the future. Service was quick and helpful. Prices are what they are. Buy items when they are on sale if possible, but that could be said anywhere.
They were very friendly and helpful as I returned parts and got other things. The young guy was able to look up my exact car sub-model and date of manufacture to get the right part. I will definitely be back.
Not my favorite location, On 4/6/19 i only had two quarts of oil to buy, sat them on counter, employee said " hows it going", then the phone rang and the employee had me stand there just shy of 10mins while he took a customers call.
Could have easily rung me out before discussing brand differences, different store inventories, pricing, buying from one location but pick up at another, part installation, and then explaining that the part from the different brands were in fact the same despite website description differences.
No one else in the store, the phone was not ringing constantly. I was short on time for an meeting so i knew exactly how long i stood there. he should have asked the guy to hold for a minute.
I want to give a great big thank you to Jeff W. You rocked it with your help and also replacing the wipers for me.... Thanks again will be back when need parts or wipers again lol....
The guys working inside stress very knowledgeable and helped me pick out the right oil (I didn't know there were so many different oils! ). Also, another customer helped me own my hood because it was stuck. All in all, it proved yet again: you can't beat the friendly, helpful service you get in a good small town. The guys went out of their way to help me.
Excellent,just wonderful help especially Leah . I don't think there's anything she doesn't know about. Thanks for a wonderful store . Btw getting hold of the Carquest parts didn't hurt either. Roger Mayes
