Work seemed done accurately but took 2 days longer than was told. People were nice.

I arrived at the service center for my appointment and was left waiting at the counter for over 5 minutes – ignored and not greeted. Was tempted to turn around then, truly wish I would have. The overall experience was abysmal. I was left waiting for over 2 hours for services that didn't address my issues. The staff tried to sell me unnecessary services and parts, despite recent replacements. They quoted me for services not rendered and offered to provide them for extra charges. Instead of diagnosing the root cause, they suggested replacing *all* worn parts. They claimed a speed sensor was bad but didn't verify or remove the wheel for inspection. The charges were nearly $50 for no resolution, despite prior notification of issues. The service writer was advised of problems in advance, but they focused on selling unnecessary services. The steering and suspension diag charge was irrelevant to the known braking issue. The location has too many sales staff and not enough technicians. I'm disappointed and won't return. I'd rather drive a golf cart than rely on this location. They racked up miles on my vehicle without resolving issues, despite 4 service light indicators. My 15-year-old vehicle has $17,500 in repairs and I have 3 kids relying on it. The staff was aggressive in making sales but showed no regard for my needs. I asked for a quote for the speed sensor, but only got a labor quote. The service writers openly doubted the mechanics' ability to handle the existing workload. TL;DR: Avoid this scam location at all costs. They wasted my time and resolved nothing. The waiting room was packed with frustrated customers. Stay away from MMG; Mikes Transmission.

They lied about the condition of my car however it's been seen by 3 mechanics in the last 3 months with none telling me it needed the part they said I needed replacement .

Went in for service, scheduled ahead of time with the claims department. Two women at the front counter pretended they couldn't do their job on the weekends so I got sent away. Claims department confirmed with me that they are in fact open and that those two women just lied to me to get out of doing their job.

Called and set appt on Friday to get rain guards installed on my wife's jeep for Christmas. Took a week to get in then when we dropped jeep off to get it done took them 2 hours. To say the price and that it would have to be ordered should have had them ordered during the week I waited for appt very dissatisfied total waste of time do better!!!!

Took my car in for a wheel alignment told me I didn't need one. Rushed me. Printed out some papers saying that my car was perfectly aligned. My car was undrivable.That's why I took it there. Took my car to second mechanic.They said my alignment was over an inch out of alignment. It was so bad they said they were surprised I was able to drive it there. Pep Boys was very rude and they lied, they didn't do their job.The paper they had printed obviously was not my car. Very dissatisfied with the service and how rude they were.

The service at this location, trash!!! I went for back brakes, knew my caliper was broke. They fix it , make it home, and end up with no brakes, broken hose and bad caliper. All malfunction lights came on the dash. Dash had no lights on, when they got it. This was in a Saturday. Appointment was 9:30 am. Didn't get the car back until 5:15 p.m. they charged about $900 for pads and a caliper. Labor was $488 bucks. They took all day for a 1/2 hour job. Took our money!!! They don't compensate for shit!!! Stay away from these people. I tried to give this place a chance. And was let down. Might not never next time with this place

Honestly, I drive a fleet car, which means my company pays for it. And when I tell you, they supposedly rotated the tires. But did not fill any of tire pressures. They did not fill in my fluids. I was literally low windshield wiper fluid and it was still low windshield wiper fluid did not give me a sticker telling me what was actually done. Literally said I forgot all of those things. Did you even do any of it. Today is December 14, 2025. I specifically mentioned this as well how I switched from Firestone because they weren’t doing the things they needed as well for my fleet car. And honestly, I think it’s because I don’t pay out-of-pocket for it so these places don’t give a crap. I go to tire choice on Lexington Avenue all the time in my regular car and I have never had the same experience and this is the second time I went to Pep Boys and had the same service. So I’m not sure if it’s just because I have a fleet car they don’t care or if other people have the same experience so now I am going to go by myself windshield wiper fluid and coolant because nobody topped off anything and didn’t even notify me that the coolant was low and I have a new car.

Went in with an issue, had one thing “fixed” but the issue is still the same. Told me it would need to be taken to a dealer, but the paperwork nowhere lists what the issue actually is for a dealer to handle. More than likely misdiagnosed the first time.

Firstly, I scheduled my appointment at 3 P.M. (I dropped it in early just in case they were able to get it in sooner. I didn’t expect them to.) I was informed that it was only going to take between an hour to an hour and a half. 3 and a half hours later I was able to pick up my car. When arriving my car wasn’t even finished and I had to wait in the lobby. They finished my car and when I walked outside, I saw three out of four of my hubcaps completely cracked. My biggest concern, I went to pull out of the parking lot my car made a horrific sound. (Not sure how the mechanic missed this) I walked back in and informed the manager about it and come to find out my tire was put on incorrectly. (Barely on my vehicle) They brought my car back in and corrected it. This was a huge Safety concern! Not only could I’ve been injured, but I could have put someone else’s life in danger by getting on the road.

This is bad. Real occurrence, after multiple visits for years and after giving them more than value of the entire car, they still won't/cant fix a squeaky wheel, but really do believe that I'm gonna give them 4,000$ for fixing something THAT ISNT A PROBLEM. I know this is mansfield, but theirs other options. Edit: ontop of a, for real, SIX HOUR WAIT, when i made the appointment weeks ago.

My experience was poor. Scheduled on the website for 6:00 pm, and received a phone call that day. Turns out the website didn't display that there would be no technicians on that date. Rescheduled for 5:00 another day, and came in. They had to close before they could get to my car, since they were running behind. Finally, rescheduled to another day for 11:00am. Came in and they were running behind again. It is currently 2:27pm and my vehicle, which only needed 4 tires replaced, has still not had its service completed. This long and this many days just for one thing is not acceptable. I am quite annoyed and will not be returning. The only saving grace is that the customer service, and those I interacted with, were very polite and pleasant.

Tried to charge me over 3x the price listed on their website. Also charged bogus “tool fee” on top of me having to pay $50 for them to give me an outrageously overpriced estimate.

Yeah, my experience wasn’t that great….. I pretty much took my car in just to get have them inspect only the breaking system to see what could be done for it, but said they checked out my whole entire car instead when I didn’t ask them to do that. That and they told me it cost $2000 to replace my breaking system which I cannot see that adding up to $2000. It’s a 2011 Kia Sorrento with an older braking system, which means the part should be more cheaper to get. I doubt it cost that much just replaced the breaking system. I could see it being an 800 and $900 for it. I’m gonna take my car to Ohio auto shop repair in Bucyrus and get their opinion since they’ve been around for 33 years and they’re known to be the best shop that’s based on honesty and trust. I could get the whole breaking kit for my car for at least 200 $300 dollars on Walmart and get a good capiler and the hose for cheap than what they are asking for me to pay for them. I would advise people not to bring their vehicles to Pep Boys anymore because that’s all about greed. It’s all about the money. It’s not about the safety of the customer and it’s certainly not about honesty and trust. You should be upfront with people about the service packages you have on your website and actually give the real cost per axle. Because for the service package I picked they were probably arranged around 800 or $900 if you include Tax for the whole thing after the $600.00. The paper they provided afterward was vague and didn’t explain how they arrived at those prices for the parts. They simply stated that certain items were good and others were not. $2000 just for a breaking systems highway robbery and especially underneath signs where people are having a hard time. I think Pep Boys needs to develop more of a heart for people and not gouge people.

Great price and deal on all 4 new tires plus an alignment. Did an analysis on the car which I was skeptical about but knowing my car and all services I've done for it, it was accurate. Great service and nice waiting area.

Went there to fix a leaking tire, waited nearly 90 minutes only to be told they couldn’t fix the tire but we did do a complete inspection of the car and here is the list of all the problems. Will never ever go back.

It was very professional and gave our car a checkup to see if anything was wrong. Let us know and found out when we would need another check up and when some items would need to be fixed.

This place will try to rob you blind! Went for a oil change on a fleet van, because it was fleet they tried to push through another 1,000 dollars of repairs! 2:45 minutes for a oil change! This also cost me personally a trip. A 10 hour round trip because of the delays. This isn't the first time!!! Last time I was there 5 hrs for a simple oil change, same scenario but this time they scared a young lady about brakes on her car was going to be some outrageous price. Told her that they couldn't get the parts and it was dangerous to drive. I had a business card in my wallet for another place in town I've had work done. We called, not only did they send a guy over to look at it they drove her car to there shop and fix it the same day it was less than 1/3 of pep boys estimate! Find somewhere else to go!!

Broke my windshield during strut replacement (down low, I didn’t see it for 2 days) They drew me out on the claim process then a month later denied responsibility UPDATE: following this review they contacted me saying I was not treated properly and their field leadership team would review it. That was another wasted month as they denied responsibility again without speaking with me about it nor looking at the vehicle. On top of that yet I noticed after the fact that they also failed to re-install the plastic shield on top of the motor. Not a good experience whatsoever!

I went in about 2 weeks ago to get my Honda civic hatchback 2017 air conditioner looked at and I was there 2 hours while they "looked" at it. They came back telling me that it had numerous leaks in the hoses and that the evaporator core along with the air compressor was broken and wanted me to buy a whole new system for 3500. I declined. I then went to DW autoglass on ashland road and had them do the same assememt and they told me none of what pep boys told me was true and that my evaporator core and other more costly parts was fine and the only thing I needed changed was a 580 dollar compressor. I accepted the estimate and they fixed my air condition for 580 and showed me the parts afterwards and it did not have any of the damages that pepboys said it had and needed replaced. I FEEL LIKE THEY TRIES TO SCAM ME FOR OVER 3000 DOLLARS. Because they saw how desperate I was to have air conditioning fixed in my vehicle for the summer. CUSTOMERS BEWARE of Massive deception and upcharges!!!!!! I will never come here again to get a FAIR AND HONEST ESTIMATE OR ASSEMENT. INSANE AND SHAMEFUL. Pretty sad I even had to pay for the assessment because even after the two hours they wasn't able to put my glove box back correctly and I had to do it myself at my house

They do not give any kind of estimate before you start. We needed rear breaks and rotors. We assumed it should be $500 or less. They wouldn't even give us an estimate range. After forcing us to pay $50 in "diagnostics" (to tell us that we needed rear breaks and rotors - what we already knew) they gave us a quote of $738 to replace only the rear brakes and rotors. We will be replacing them ourselves for $209 and a little sweat. That is over $500 in labor alone. I do not recommend this place for any break work, unless sky high prices are your thing. It ended up taking over 3 hours to do the 30 minute inspection because of the vehicle having a hard time coming out of brake mode. They were kind enough to waive the $50 fee after. I definitely appreciate that. The employees were kind and I understand they do not set the prices, but I feel the mandatory $50 inspection before they even give you a price range quote is ridiculous. I wouldn't have made the 45 minute drive over had i known that that was the starting price for breaks and rotors on one axle.

Gave a good price on a new set of tires. Didn't take forever to do the work, despite being fairly busy. Not sure if they took into account that I had a newborn with me or not, but regardless, I appreciated that I wasn't there forever waiting. Workers seemed cordial and respectful. It was a good experience. I've been there a few times before and haven't been disappointed. Thank you for the good work!

I had a tire going bad on a small trailer and stopped to see if they had some. They did but said they can’t work on a trailer. They borrowed me a tire iron and I to take the tires off in their parking lot and carry them in. Not a huge deal but it was raining and it kind of sucked when they had 10 open service bays. When the tires were on the rims they called me, mind you I’m in the parking lot, and rolled them to the back door and didn’t even offer to give me a hand. I get policy and all but if one of the 3 people sitting in the service desk area could have least offered to give me a hand. I’ve had good experiences at my hometown Pep Boys. This group could use a lesson in common courtesy to an old guy changing tires in the rain while they watched.

We buy all of our tires from pep boys,Mansfield,OH shop..I have never had any issues with price or having them installed..

Bought tires there a few months ago and went in for free tire rotation. When arriving the took the truck in quickly. 45 minutes later they come out and told us 3 times that our struts need replacing. Told them the truck was under warranty yet and they were not changing anything. Never did get the rotation. Took my truck to Chevy to look at. My struts aren’t bad.

Went to Pepboys in Ontario,Ohio for new tires, they ordered the size and brand that i wanted and came in sooner than i expected the next day. They called me and i went in and got them installed and they also did a thorough check of my vehicle for me since i just purchased it. Very happy with tires and service at front counter and out in the shop. I will return next time. Thanks guys.
