First problem wanting to do business with this company selling them scrap for my business. Couldn't ever get a hold of anybody. Was put on hold numerous times and nobody ever came to the phone. Second occurrence. We live on a main road and one of their trucks went by losing scrap metal the whole way. Non-tarped I called in and they acted like they didn't really care after being put on hold for 10 minutes.
I read the negative reviews but the lady was extremely nice and polite to me. Everyone has a different view but I didn't have a bad experience and I have some more scrap and I'll be taking it back to them.
Read some of the negative reviews and still decided to give it a try. Got there and checked in and the ladies behind the window were super nice. While checking in some other lady came up and said she couldn't take what I had without a company letterhead from where I got the wire. Which if that's the policy I understand. What I didn't like is that my truck has a cover which she helped herself to my tailgate. And it was the way she went about it. I told her it was a side job I did and she said my #12 thhn was "maintenance wire' whatever that is lol Again if that's their policy i get it but it felt more like she loved being able to deny someone.
Decent prices the employees are great all except the 1 lady who works the scales she seems to always be in a bitter mood and acts as if the world is beneath her, she really seems to hate her job and anything else that breathes other than that it's a decent place. Probably won't return for that 1 reason. I'd suggest milliron although the lady that runs the scale there is practically the same way just not as bad.
Decent scrap yard, but the lady that's in charge of weighing materials is incompetent. The scales are not calibrated regularly and when asked why the scale was reading a negative number with nothing on it, I was told "no it wasn't." I look at her, then the scale read out and point to it and she walks away. Ask the lady in the office the same question and she informs me she has no control over what goes on and I would need to speak to the lady that just lied to me. I confronted her in front of the office lady, and again she lied. I asked the office lady to come out and see for herself, then the liar spoke up and said "JUST GO AHEAD AND GIVE IT TO HIM!" So, I will no longer do business with this company, even after they fire her. Recommend any other place than here.
Best in the business. Extremely curdious and know the business in and out. They can't get friendlier and always load asap. Thanks again for all you do for the drivers.
Now I have never scraped anything before but I had recently bought a vehicle and in the bed were some pieces of brass. The guy said to take them to a scrap yard and they would give you $ for it. Great I thought. When I goggled scrap yards this place pop up 1st. When I stopped in to recycle the stuff the guy said that due to thieves I would need a letter stating that I was allowed to sell this stuff. On a company letter head. Who's company? The guy I bought the truck from? That makes alot of sense. Treated me like a thief event though they took my pic, made copies of my drivers license and basically took a DNA sample. I recommend Milliron on state route 39. Went there and within 10 mins and a handshake later I was a few dollars richer, and was not made to feel like a crook.
All metals are recycled at the same going rate as other recycling businesses. This business gets a five star for paying in CASH for amounts under $80.00. Located off St.Rt. 545. Turn on to Reformatory Rd. in front of Reformatory OSR and follow road to the end that turns in to Crawford Ave.
