SCAM ALERT!! This is the biggest scam I have ever seen! After my car was wrecked I wasn't given a choice and was told I had to have it towed by this company. There was a bad ice/snow storm delaying pick up. Then I sent my mechanic to look at the vehicle who planned to tow it that day and they would not let him view the vehicle even though we called and the mechanic called for an approved appointment (no mention of paperwork). When he drove 3 hours round trip, they said they needed my father's signed/notarized form who was out of town before they could let someone view it. They have an online release form that didn't work for hours. We finally went to get it towed without my mechanic being able to look at it to make a decision on whether or not to fix it and where to tow it. It was $1,900 and they only take cash! They refused any discounts off the $50/day and of course offered us to sign the title over to them to pay the high fees. After talking to them all day and rounding up the cash, they claimed at the end of the day they didn't have a truck to tow the car and said we had to find our own truck before they closed or pay an additional $50 daily charge. These people are predatory scammers looking to steal vehicles from people who are financially struggling. NO modern LEGITIMATE Business takes cash only-especially with astronomical fees like this. It appears their legitimate business is selling wrecked cars they shadily steal from citizens when they are down on their luck.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! This company was storing my son's vehicle after a wreck (which is in his dad's name). I called ahead that our mechanic was coming from out of town to look at it and they confirmed the appointment (no mention of needed paperwork). My mechanic also called separately and their office representative authorized him to come (didn't mention anything about having the owner with him or paperwork). My mechanic has been to 30+ similar businesses and never had an issue accessing a vehicle for an outside look only and offered to let them go with him to look outside but not touch anything. He basically needed to see if the radiator and drip pan were damaged. My mechanic drove from Charlotte and they refused access for a quick outside look. I was there with my ID (same last name) and we spent 2 hours on the phone with my son's dad (registered owner/phone #) who was trying to get an online form filled out. The form never went through. He tried 12 times. He consulted with the IT guy and had no success and they still refused us a 5 minute outside look. There were zero security issues as they had met my son and his dad, but refused access due to their incompetent system. They had no concern that it cost me hundreds of extra dollars (on top of their extravogant fees) telling my mechanic he could drive 3 hours round trip and then denied access. They over-charge, rely on poor IT, have uneducated employees and are the rudest, most incompetent people I have ever dealt with.

Michael is the best. He was there in 10 minutes and was so so careful loading and unloading our 71 camaro. Don't hesitate to call this company if you need a tow, they are great

Drivers are professional, but the office people are problematic. I wasn't informed about pricing until 30 minutes before arrival, but I made the appointment the day before and spoke to someone directly. They charge 10% EXTRA if you use a credit card! Also, the office person had the driver speaking out loud in a crowded room ALL of my credit card information - including the security code! They are totally disrespectful!

my car is totaled and I didn't know what to do but when I talked to Midnight Special I think her name was ADELL she explained to me about my title and actually made me feel better about everything. I had some questions and she explained all patiently she was kind and understanding and just left me with a good feeling it took a lot of stress away so I am giving midnight special 5 stars

Tod came out to tow my car to the dealership because something happened and my sway bar had broken off, but got fixed. Well, today something was scraping metal going down the highway so loud over the radio and I thought I’d broken it again; or the bolts had stripped down and came loose again but something was definitely scratching the highway. It was warranted so I was directed to call. It was a piece of metal alright and I had picked it up somewhere and just needed to be pulled out. Like a coat hanger. Thank goodness it didn’t hurt anything and he was so good to me and let me go. Purdy quick too. Thanks guys. Your #1.

My daughters tire popped caused her to total her vehicle otw to school, they put us thru a process just to get her items out of the car after the wreck, the vehicle was in her gpa name but insurance in hers n gmas. It was truely a headache but they have a job to do too. Thx u guys.

The customer service on the phone was helpful, and the driver Daniel was really nice and professional. He even suggested to take my car to the service center instead of my home, which would definitely save some bucks. The pick-up and drop-off also were handled quickly and efficiently. Had a great experience with Midnight Special LLC in Hickory, NC! They came through when I really needed help — fast, professional, and super friendly. The price was more than fair (actually better than a couple other places I checked in the area), and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. So we needed a tow the other night at about 2:00 am. We were using our Nationwide roadside service. Called them and they scheduled a tow from CAF Wrecker. They never made it to pick up the vehicle. Made several attempts to reach out but tmwith no luck. Nationwide roadside service left me stranded. So I started calling around to the 24 hour towing companies. Hickory Wrecker didn't want to come out untill the next day. Not surprised, I used them before. Called Jim's Wrecker and Storage and they sent out the Midnight Special. So grateful for them. They were there with about 30 minutes or less. Had no problems getting the vehicle loaded and delivered to the destination that I requested. I would highly recommend this company. If i ever need another tow I'll skip all the rest and use the best! Great job 👍

Professional, courteous, and fair prices. My driver took extra care with my classic car and made sure I was comfortable with his actions prior to making his moves. I am keeping the business card in my wallet. Please remember if you see any tow truck, slow down and move over.

I called Midnight Special in a desperate predicament. I needed my vehicle picked up within 40 minutes; which is extremely difficult to do considering you have to include their travel time to my location. They were great. They were able to help me in a tight pinch. The dispatcher and the driver were both super nice. It was a great experience during a trying time. Thank you so much.

This is THE tow company to call!!! Absolutely the nicest, kindest, and most detail oriented tow I’ve ever had. Very fair pricing. Driver kept me updated the entire time he was in route and took his time to load up my van (that I live in) with care and kindness. Had no issue lugging my vehicle 50 miles one way, even called me when he dropped it off! Even the woman who had answered the phone when I originally called was amazing. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend!!!

Called their office and got quick response and service and arrived at specified time! Angel was the towing driver and he was quick to do his thing in a very professional way and had my daughter's car hooked up on the flatbed in no time and on his way to its final destination across town. Very pleased with their service, and I would definitely use them again if I ever need a tow. Five BIG Stars for Midnight Special! Professional and Smart! Had to deliver my favorite Porsche to Master Tech in Hickory NC. Midnight Special (specifically Matt) got my favorite Porsche on the flatbed trailer without incident. The 951 only had a three inch ground clearance. Worried we would not get to keep the ground effects attached. Have no doubt --you will know where the money went.

I've had to have a couple of cars towed in my lifetime. I don't know if this is his name on this business card. Danny. Amazing customer service. Treating my car looking for it was his own. Super down-to-earth and respectful. Even allowed and help me setup my floor jacks before lowering my car from his tow truck. Amazing experience. Angel drove over an hour to pick my vehicle up, was very sociable and kind! Treated my vehicle as if it was his own while loading it. Also notified me during the process of unloading my vehicle after reaching the destination. This is a company of people who truly care about their customers and I would recommend them to anyone.
