Initially called the store only to be sent to a service center. Asked to be redirected to the store but there was no one available at the desk. Then asked about walk-in alignments, the man on the phone said 'yes'. Once at the physical store, no one is at the desk and there's a line of people in the waiting area. Once a staff comes in, stated that usually could do walk-in alignments but can't today because short staff. There's literally one mechanic. Sad state of affairs for this business and even sadder for a car that needs an alignment. Why bother keeping a shop if a company isn't going to maintain good customer service?

I highly recommend Monro muffler in Chester, NY. I went there a few years ago because my check engine light came on. It was an extensive repair job, but it was done well. I was even able to open a drive card credit card and get 6 months 0% interest. I have been going there ever since to keep my 10 years + car on the road, oil changes, tires, brakes, state inspections.

Pleasant staff - fair prices - quickly done the only issue is they didn’t do a high speed balance and the truck shook once we drove 65 / 70 on the highway and since they weren’t open on Sunday we had to pay to have it redone at another local place open on Sunday

I bought my truck tires from there and I asked for alignment, they called me back for some part extra to change and I explained them I already did some work with my mechanic and then they called me back and changed the story and said another part, I said ok go ahead and replace the part but save it for me so I can show it to my mechanic, they didn’t, so when finally “fixed it” they called me to get it and after signing and paying the guy “Dan” was like by the way we couldn’t get the alignment done, and when my wife called to complain they said I denied everything she was complaining about, like I denied those services. I spent almost $ 1, 600 dollars and the service wasn’t feeling like a good honest treatment, so disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend this place

My husband had a blown a tire out on the highway. After meeting him, I brought the rim and bad tire along with a new replacement to Monroe. The gentlemen took care of me immediately. I was able to bring the newly replaced tire back to my husband in the highway with a fast turnaround. Staff was polite helpful and extremely efficient.

Went into Monro Chester for a tire deal towards the end of its promotion to find none were available in the size I needed. The service manager Bill was very helpful in steering me in the direction of some even better UHP tires for not much more out of pocket. Kudos to service guys who were able to remove the lug nut locks as I forgot the special key adapter kit at home. They also did an excellent job mounting and balancing. Zero vibrations and no air leaks. After a three hour trip through the Catskill Mountains in partially rainy weather on winding highway roads, I can say these are by far the best performing tires Ive ever owned 🤞. Cant wait to see how they handle in the snow! Definitely would recommend this Monro location.

I went into Monro Chester NY on a saturday at 5:30 pm with my flat tire registering 13 instead of 32. I was told schedule an appt the next day as he was closing. I said i would not make it the next day as my tire would be 100% out of air. The manager that knows me, sold me the tires and does my brakes, looked at me with a blank look like too bad for you. I went back to my car and called Monro 800# and was told they close at 7 pm. The manager came to my car and said he would help me. Also there was not a car in the 5 stalls and just he and the mechanic. He told me I needed a new tire as the nail was on the side of the tire. I asked for my nail tire to be put into my trunk. I brought it to Sunoco in Goshen and Toni fixed my nail tire, no problem. The Monro manager forced me to spend $250 on a new tire when I could have just repaired the tire. I will never be back to any Monro establishment again. That manager should be FIRED!!!

I could not be happier with the service I received! I came in for an oil change, a state inspection, and an alignment, and the work was done both quickly and efficiently. A special shout-out to Dan, who truly went above and beyond. I was running late for my appointment, but he still welcomed me with a smile, accommodated my schedule, and never once made me feel bad about it. His bubbly personality and genuine customer care made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. Dan’s professionalism, kindness, and positive attitude are exactly what great customer service should look like. I truly appreciate his effort and would gladly recommend this place to anyone!

We were in the middle of a road trip and needed emergency service of a new wheel hub. They were very busy with other problem vehicles but they did not turn us away and helped us immediately to get us back on the road. Kudos and thank you for your professionalism and kindness.

Don't use this place to have tires installed. They overcharged me on several things. I have a truck that is older and no longer requires an emissions inspection. They charged me $21.00 for NYS inspection. $10 .00 was all they should have charged. Also upon tire install they charged $20.00 for TPMS service. My truck doesn't have any of these sensors. The service manager said there was nothing he could do. Also charged for tire valves when they were already included in quoted price from tire rack.com. this place is a rip-off, they try and nickel and dime you to death. Place was all but empty when I was there. No wonder. Use orange county tires. Right up the road. At least they don't try and rip you off.

Monroe was very affordable in the customer service. They were very nice and kind and generous to put my schedule to work with my schedule and the tires were installed. They even offered the balancing option with additional 149.

I worked for years in Chester and always used the Monro there for repairs, etc. Now that I'm in Middletown, I decided to use the location on Dolson Avenue in Middletown last July. Totally miserable experience, poor customer service, over 3 hours of waiting to have tires put on even though they weren't very busy and the employees seemed like they wanted to quit. Very toxic environment and the first time I did not tip the tech who worked on my car due to the poor attitude and rude demeanor. Remembering my good experiences in Chester in the past, I made the drive and had my tires put on there. Well worth it and a total night and day difference between the Middletown location (bad) and the Chester location (good). I'm glad I took a few extra minutes to patronize the Chester location. Everyone from the manager (very professional and polite, easy to talk to, etc.) to the techs were first class and friendly. On top of that, it was less expensive (just a couple bucks, but still nice) than Tire Rack told me it would be and my car was ready to go in less than 45 minutes. I was glad to see that the experience I had in Middletown was not company wide and I know where I'm having service done from now on. Middletown, look to Chester if you want to see how this is done.

The experience was horrible got my oil change on the January 20,2025. Not even a month and my check engine light comes on. 😒 I wasn't sure what it was at first. So my friend checks everything out oil. Sensor everything when he checks the engine oil it's ⚫️ black. Mind you I just got an oil change it should be honey looking and it wasnt. I'm definitely complaining to corporate I want my money back.

They tore the antenna off the top of my car because one of their employees backed my car out of their garage with the door only halfway open. Their communication is absolute garbage saying they’ll “call back later today or tomorrow.” I assumed they were (somehow) busy so I give them some leeway, but more than 3-4 days pass by and still no call/update on MULTIPLE occasions. When I call them back for an update they sound as if I’m bothering them for something that their OWN employees are responsible for. Specifically Dan. He was totally useless and unable to answer 99% of my questions and concerns. Their customer service reps are equally as useless and difficult to get a hold of and communicate with. Considering they don’t know how to properly open their own garage door with a car that has a backup camera…I would suggest going ANYWHERE else!!! I’d recommend calling their toll-free customer service number if you have an hour to stay on hold :)

Update: my cars bolts weren’t put on correctly during a routine brake replacement and it was a risky situation. Glad my main mechanic caught it immediately. Monro Muffler completely forgot to put the hardware on the brakes - incredibly dangerous!! Y’all need to get a manager and more than one mechanic to do everything- answer phones, fix cars, and do customer service and check over the work with ten cars a day. Been using you guys for years but will not continue to be a customer. Old review: Fit me in on a particularly busy day with limited mechanics on. Darrin was an absolute lifesaver, and such a nice person to do work with. I fully trusted his take on the situation and he was apt to go above and beyond helping me diagnose, solve, and even find parts at the dealership on a Saturday for a diesel van. Not easy! Can’t say enough good things about this place and service. Always been my go to but this time and many others they went over and beyond.

My car was all fine until I came here for a fleet oil change, suddenly after that, liquids started leaking. drove 20k miles & had 5 oil changes done in the last year, but only after coming here problems suddenly starting to arise, such obvious leaking from bad handling or deliberately damaging something so I would return.. they will be reliable for that, all of the workers 5 in total that touched my car. How is it that more than two people are necessary to do a simple oil change, & change a minor bulb, 5 or 6 people who were standing around the car doing who knows what, right after, I notice that my driveway filled with spots of oil, only to move my car, to see the same spots of oil, coming straight from this "oil change" leaking... Transmission fluid, what did you guys do... I only came for a bulb change & a oil change, who gave you permission to touch anything else, and then telling me it's a coincidence that suddenly after this oil change, a huge leak happens to happen, emptying the entire tank, never having any issues before in any of these.. you guys broke my car and you guys will pay for it.. it doesn't matter why I came to you because the business provided me with a oil change only by you.. you guys damaged my car... I am not obligated to use any of your additional services just because the business I work for sent me there for a fleet oil change.. if you guys don't want to do fleet oil changes just decline services, I came only because they sent me there.. Five people throwing stuff around from my trunk, just to change a Small bulb I could have done myself, only wanted to support this local shop, but they wanted bigger bucks, so they break my car.. all of you standing around my car doing I don't know what pretending it's a big deal to change a rear bulb, will be reliable for negligence and breaking my property while supposedly servicing it.. All because I declined to buy their cheap tires he tried to sell me..🤷. After this incident I'm realizing that I had the same issue with a previous car that I came for a fleet oil change there, at the time I didn't realize but somehow after using their shop for a fleet oil change many issues started coming up, coincidence??? Unreliable, unprofessional, breaking stuff... Fix your damage...

I bought a used ruck and it started making a noise I went to a shop they told me I have to spend $2000 on it Then I went to Monroe tire. I did a needed oil change and they checked the whole truck, Instead of trying to rip me off. They were honest with me and told me there is nothing wrong with your truck! Just drive it more and the rush on the brakes will go away! We need more shops like these ! Honest, hard-working people! Scheduling was perfect and the manager had a great friendly attitude! Definitely coming back
