Absolutely the worst company ever! Their salesman came to my home and convinced me to switch to their garbage services. I did not sign anything but gave him a blank voided check. After he left and I spoke to my husband we decided not to switch. I called the very next morning on a Saturday and spoke to Aaron. He told me no problem and when I inquired about my voided check he assured me it would be returned to me. A few days later, their company was dropping off garbage pails in front of my house. I told them that I was not going to be a customer and immediately called again and spoke to Frank. He told me if I had paid anything it would be refunded. I told him I gave them a blank voided check so he said he would cancel the service since Aaron did not and not to worry. The very next day I checked my banking and the COMPANY CASHED MY VOIDED CHECK, FILLED IN THE AMOUNT AND PUT MY NAME ON THE CHECK!!! I immediately called and spoke to a supervisor named Lourdes….she would not answer who fraudulently filled in the amount and would not take responsibility for their error now I have to wait a month to get a refund. I’m reporting fraud to my bank. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! They are scammers.
My company reached out for a quote on service with interstate waste. We decided to go with another option that was significantly less expensive. That's where the problem started. Our sales rep Emmelisa wouldn't take no for an answer and proceeded to sign us up for service without our permission. After we had expressly told her we had been going with another company. We didn't find this out until almost 2 months later when we started getting notices of delinquent account and bills in the mail. Canceling the service was also a nightmare as their customer service department couldn't do anything without getting the input from the salesperson who fraudulently started the account to begin with. I cannot recommend highly enough to steer clear of this company, and go with any other carting company in the Orange county region.
They were absolute crooks, their prices were higher than the competition and it is literally impossible to cancel service and has taken us over 3 months to try to get this worked out. Don't just steer clear of them run away because this garbage company stinks! And most specifically the sales rep Emmelisa Marte and her boss Michael Powers from the Chester office are genuine criminals. They will take your information & sign you up for services that you've never agreed to and then pretend not to understand what's going on when you called to cancel. Highly avoid! Highly avoid! What an absolute nightmare...

I signed up for biweekly trash removal services. Sadly, last weekends soft opening yielded a ton of cardboard & recycling. I contacted Mr. Lagakos over the holiday weekend & by Monday morning, the pile of cardboard & trash disappeared. Just like magic!
Do not hesitate to pull the trigger on this amazing company! Furthermore, if you call and request ‘John Lagakos’, I can personally guarantee that you will receive nothing but A+, 5 Star Service!

Jeff was very patient in going over the contract. He was knowledgable on the packages IWS offers and was able to provide a detailed breakdown of costs.

Their new rep, Jeff Saltzberg is all about customer service. He is courteous, professional, genuinely cares and gets things taken care of. We are very happy to renew our contract with Interstate Waste and would definitely recommend them.
Missed a pick up. All my neighbors were picked up. Called at 445 woman said she was calling dispatch she'd call me back. No call site says closes st 7 but prompting says 6. This isn't the first time they missed a pick up. Service when they do is subpar.
Worst customer service ever. If I could give them no stars I would. I originally signed up with another company who got bought out by iws. Never had any issues with the other company whatsoever. Iws took over about a year ago and it's been nothing but problems. Missed pickups, their guys leaving the pals in the middle of the road after they empty them, their guys breaking the pals when they empty them and then not wanting to replace them, and their customer service center over the phone is the worst. They lie to you, tell you they're going to call you back and never do, and the answer is always the same" you're still on the schedule for today, they're just running late with their stops". Late is not a problem but being told that for a week straight is ridiculous. When I finally called to cancel the service the girl on the other end of the phone didn't even try to retain me as a customer. Just told me okay no problem I'll cancel right now have a nice day. Too bad because I'm sure upper management will never see these and has no idea what's going on. I know the owner of the company once provided great service when it was a small company unfortunately it's gotten too big and everything has gotten away from him. I have NEVER in my life been compelled to write a review for anything. I am absolutely FLOORED by the lack of professionalism from the customer service line at International Waste. I was lied to, talked over, snapped at, and was spoken to in the most unprofessional manner. They did not show up at their normal time to pick up my garbage for two weeks, left half of my recycling in the street, and when I asked to be put on the schedule for the following day both representatives I spoke with were unhelpful, belittling, and frankly just rude. When I asked to speak with a supervisor about my situation, I was told he had gone home for the day (at 4pm) and the next morning, the "supervisor" was conveniently on vacation. Because, I am sure, a company would let a supervisor go on vacation with no one covering those responsibilities while they are away. A great business model. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Also, their mandatory three year contract is simply uncontainable and ridiculous.
IWS is simply one of the best companies I’ve ever experienced. They are caring, hardworkers and even bring my cans up to my house! Although I have gotten into some, “shenanigans” with a few workers, their true commitment to their job of getting trash off our streets is unmatchable! Not sure what I would do without the IWS employees in my life.
The biggest problem I have with this company is the stage they leave our garbage bins in after picking up. We are at work all day, so when it rains they always leave it open, and we always come home to a garbage bin filled with water. We also live right on 17k and these are often left in the road where they could get hit by a car. This week they took it to a whole new level And one of the bins was actually upside down.
Easily one of the worst companies in business. I am not just referring to the trash business. This company is trash. In 3 years I have never gotten a single person to call back and they started our contract several weeks late while expecting us to pay for that first month in full still. The one time I got someone on the phone 3 years ago they said they would get back to me and never have. Not sure why we have stayed with this company as long as we have but this poor excuse of a business should be shut down.
I've been using IWS for about 8 months now and haven't had much of a problem. Where I have encountered a problem concerns weather. They have been getting better in sending email alerts when they are not able to pick up in your area due to inclement weather. Other than that, my pick ups are always done on time on the scheduled day. They do offer free "large/bulk" item pick-ups once a month (this isn't so much free as it is included in the monthly price of 26.50). A word of caution for these pick-ups: if you want them to pick up an old fridge you need to have the freon removed prior to pickup. The cost of freeon removal, it is easier to bring to the county dump if you can.
They currently do three month payments, so your bill is actually 79.50 every three months (working out to the 26.50 per month that is advertised).
Horrible customer service. The manager will not get on the phone when I called. My garbage doesn't get picked up at least once a month. I call to complain and they tell me that their driver states the can is not out at the street when it is. I see the driver drive up the street but never drives back down to pick up my can or my neighbors can for that matter. Our garbage can is overflowing and they claim it's not at the street for pick up. If you sign up and are disappointed you need to wait the full year otherwise there is $50 cancellation fee. I believe that fee is built into the contract because they know people are going to switch. Just a bad situation all around. for $21.50 a month and bad service, you get what you pay for!!! Shame on me!
