Hesitant to use them anymore. Are they tipping themselves? As the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Be sure to count your money before you leave. They shorted me twice out of $5.00. The can count may have been correct, but the amount of money they handed me was short a $5.00 bill from the receipt on two visits. That's a lot of cans.

Worst service. Sat in line for 45 minutes for the employee to say he couldn't do our order we had to come back.

Just go to Makes Cents. Griffs is horrifically slow for no obvious reason, and has terrible customer service. At Makes Cents you can be in and out in 5mins. At Griffs you’ll wait in line for 30mins for them to even start counting. At Makes Cents you can bring as many bottles or cans in whatever containers you have. At Griffs the employees while complain if you don’t bring your own boxes for glass bottles.

This place sucks nobody home , anybody going to be there,why bother they don't give All your money back

Just spent 2 1/2 hours waiting in line LOL... No biggie a date day with the wife, But then to Just to have them tell me ""We cant help you with a trailer full of cans and bottles you will have to leave your $5000.00 trailer here with them inside and we will get to them when we can"" and "That is all we can do here you cant leave them outside or stack them on the side"" Well to say the least after taking my yearly trip to Griffs with over 6,000 bottles for over 10 years they will never see me again but Making Cents in Watertown who helped me unload my 50+ bags and had my money in my hands in less then 15 minutes. will see me whenever I have a redemption to make yearly or whenever. Sorry Griffs you have lost another longtime customer. and from what I am hearing you are loosing many of us....pride and money grubbing will be your downfall.

This is my first time coming here, and I will never return! That Woman is rude, and swearing underneath her breath because our order was large.. kept asking for us to leave and come back.. then states more than have of our order is @ in-usable “ .. annoyed that we won’t come back .. being sweet to all the Men is the cars waiting.. and pointing to our car telling them we are unreasonable.. never will I ever return.. and will tell everybody how horrible my experience was…… if that is not enough.. we asked for the rejected bottles.. she brought out someone’s else’s bottles.. and told us they were not ours.. so clearly.. we did not get our full Oder… which is theft! .. and all our bottles were clean.. the bags she bought out SMELLED So BAD!! Her name is Nicole…

The convenience of not having to get out of your car is nice, but the same kid has shorted me money every time i go here, tall chunky younger guy. Not sure if he can't count very well or is pocketing money. I'm gonna have to go somewhere else from now on

100% great service here! For me I have never seen a drive thru redemption center, so to have hands free service makes this a 5 star! The gentleman in the store was very helpful and the lady in the back was quick and very professional. You must have patience for the wait time but they are very nice and have improved very well. I will be coming back and telling everyone local and far away about this place! Thank you Griff's!

They need to hire Logan G back! The old skinny blond is rude and is always yelling a cussing. So rude. She needs to be fired. Honestly she needs to humble herself that some of us actually still recycle.

We brought in 2 black garbage bags and 4 medium bags and have been waiting about 45 minutes. People who came in after us are leaving before us. Absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!

I call this place the honey hole of alcohol! I drive from St.Lawrence Co to get what I need, I can't find what this place has to offer any place else! Staff is so friendly too!

If there is a drink you are looking for, or looking for something you've never heard of, this is the place. On top of that they have bottle return you don't have to leave your car for.

Great little store for snacks and beverages. Can return is so easy. Drive through with a friendly attendant.

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. They come up with money for the car before me. Which means they gave my money to the car in front of me. A while later I look up from my phone and realize it's been nearly an hour. A car 4 cars behind me had already left without her money,so I left as well. You want to waste my time with what little you give me for those cans, during a shortage? I'll take my little business elsewhere thanks. Don't waste your time with this place.

Super friendly guy, helped me with suggestions. We found the beer we were looking for (Blue Moon/Mango). Thanks for making us feel welcomed, we will definitely go back.

Was shorted almost $5 when taking in my redemptions. They no longer accept precounts which I understand but we still count them and verify there is nothing that is not eligible for redemption. Considering we should have received a little over $11, getting back a little over half of what was expected is a pretty large discrepancy. I mentioned it to the man who brought our money out and he shrugged and walked away. This isn’t the first time, in fact a number of times previously but not to this extent. I can guarantee it is the last time- we will go to Makes Cents return center in the future.

Drove through their Rt 37 bottle return center with 3 bags totaling 200 cans/bottles, worth an even $10.00. When I got the receipt, it said I had 105 and they gave me $5.25. Is there a fee that I'm unaware of? Or are you just stealing people's money?

None of the staff were wearing masks during this pandemic. They touch money all day long. They handle empty cans and bottles that have touched everybody’s mouths. They should take extra precautions because of the nature of their work. It’s a very busy place- endless contact with the public. The can redemption lines are always long. The store is always doing brisk business because of their excellent prices. But the staff are not taking even minimum precautions of hand sanitizer between customers.

The last 3 Times I was there, I was cheated out of Money. I will never ever go there again. They will lose a good Customer

Stopped with 4 bags of cans and bottles to return. They had the gate closed and another car had just pulled out. Honked the horn like the sign said and sat for 5 minutes but no one came out to open the gate or have me come through. Decided to just leave. I'll go somewhere else.

Purchased 6pk of redds there the other day. It was my first time ever purchasing there. The store attendant told me they were on sale so I was super excited. Got home and they tasted extremely nasty( I’ve had them before so I know what they should taste like) and noticed they expired at the beginning of January. So I called and they told me “ ya we sell stuff on sale sometimes because it’s expired” I was NEVER informed or even mentioned that I was purchasing an expired product or I wouldn’t have purchased it!! And now they are refusing to give me my money back or give me a none expired product!! Worst service I have ever received!! I feel it is very wrong to sell expired product to a customer with out their knowledge!! Just down right wrong.

If you love a store that can offer you a variety of beers with a customer service that feels like going to your friends house, and the product knowledge to be willing to talk with you extensively about every beer and product on the shelf then go to Griff's. They will make it a personal mission to find what you're looking for, help you discover new things you'll like and if they can't find it on their shelves they will do everything they can to order it for you. My favorite part about this place is I don't feel like a customer here,I almost always get into a deep conversation about beer and leave feeling like I just visited a good buddy and walked away with something I really wanted while I was there, they have this business down pat. There some complaints on here about the redemption center, honestly I've been dropping my cans here every two weeks for 2 years now and I can tell you I haven't had any issues, my guess is they are not used to redemptions and how time consuming it is or find themselves being disappointed by their return, these guys do a good job, yes it takes time and for a reason THEY'RE COUNTING YOUR RECYCLING FOR YOU if you don't like how long that takes then go to Hannaford and do it yourself, they do a great job and they bring your cash right to your car, I love it. Keep it up Griff's, you've made a loyal customer out of me I am sure you will continue make more if you maintain this level of commitment.

I had an account open for a fundraiser. Upon opening it and asking what all the details were about opening AT NO TIME was I told that when closing the account out that a check would be mailed to the house. Every other place had either cut a check at that time or paid out in cash. So imagine my surprise when I went and closed the account out and was told then that they would mail a check. Needless to say that the check was not received in time for the trip which was 1 week after closing the account out. So the money raised was not able to be used for the trip. Therefore adding additional expenses to the already expensive project because everyone else had to come up at the LAST MINUTE with the money. We had made 3 other attempts in the 2 weeks prior to close out the account but everytime we were there they told us that only the manager could close it out and that he wasnt available. So needless to say I WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN WITH SADNESS ME BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN MY CANS AND BOTTLES THERE FOR YEARS. When seeing if they could put a rush on the check l, explaining that situation of the trip and talking with the manager and telling me that we had tried 3 other times over the past 2 weeks he didnt seem to care and was not helpful in the least bit. He said there wasnt anything he could do about it and oh sorry yeah that's our policy for accounts sorry you weren't told. So now they have not just lost my service but my respect.

If you need to redeem of cans, pick up some cold ones, a lottery ticket or just want to buy some water they have any amount a drinks you need got a decent amount of money for the cans they move fast efficient and when they aren't busy it's smooth sailing

Well, I went to griff's today (the one in Carthage by dollar general, on west end ave) and was VERY VERY Unpleased by the customer service. I understand this isn't the same store as the one in Watertown. However I'm assuming they're under the same ownership. As I was saying, I was at the redemption center today, and this woman by the name of Mary Joe, was very unfriendly and rude. My father gave me bags of bottles, and I was unaware of the fact that there were "non-recyclables" in the bags as well. I had 7 or 8 bags of cans/bottles. And the woman FREAKED OUT. "Excuse me, do your u ACTUALLY think that it is MY job to separate the recyclables from the NON-recyclables? Because it's not" I was taken off guard, and honestly blown away. My response, obviously was, "I mean, I'm sorry, my dad gave me these, I didn't individually dig through each bag to see what they consisted of.." and again, here she comes again with the attitude. "Yeah, well now I have to spend MY TIME separating these, and the people behind you are going to have to wait even longer, feel good about that?" My response: "well, I'm sooooo sorry that you have to do your job and separate the cans and bottles, but like I said, I wasn't aware these weren't recyclable.. AND I was under the impression that working retail (as I do) you should be more concerned about customer satisfaction, than your OWN satisfaction." Her response left me baffled "well guess what young man, you don't know a damn thing about retail if you think that's how it goes!" My response: "okay well I can see that you're having a hard time coping with the fact that your miserable life and horrible decisions have left you working here. But it isn't my fault? I don't know why you're taking this ou-" As she cut me off "I'm just going to give you the money for the cans you gave me, and you can get out of my store because I HAVE HAD IT with this generation" So gladly, even though I received less money than Allotted for the cans I gave her, since I was ALREADY late for my appointment, due to the fact that instead of just sorting through the bottles, and saving EVERYBODY time, she pissed and moaned the entire time, I took my money and walked out. I have my receipt in hand right now. Time: 12:21 PM Transaction #: 59837 Date: 08/26/2017. (This woman (and I use that term loosely) shouldn't be allowed to work with the public if she can't respect them and tend to their satisfaction.)

Very friendly service..Returned alot of cans and bottles and they were great at receiving them and counted them accurately and in a timely manner considering how busy they were..Had excellent deals on beer..

Fantastic service and amazing deals! If you need to return can&bottles and want to pick up beer this is your place.
