On a cross-country road trip in my Suburban pulling a trailer and my left front wheel hub decided to fail 20 mi east of Gallup. American towing picked me up and put my Suburban on a flatbed and connected my trailer to the back of the tow truck. In addition they recommended the mechanic that works in the back of their shop. They dropped my car off at 3:00 p.m. on a Friday and by 5:00 p.m. I was back on the road. I highly recommend the American muffler and towing shop and the Sam's Automotive who works in the back doing repairs.. these guys saved my azz and allowed me to complete my job to go to California and pick up three motorcycles and deliver them back to the east coast.

They've been there for me TWICE now for their towing services and able to get me back on the road with the repair of some studs and getting me some new rims for my ride. I got new kicks for my baby and they've been taking care of me ever since. Always great service when I come here! ? Pancho, you da man!!! ?

When I went to retrieve my personal belongings out of my vehicle, all of my tools were missing, most of them were brand new and still in the packaging they were purchased in. Everything in my car had been gone through. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with the tow truck drivers work ethics at this place. The receptionist said she had no control over what happens in the tow yard. I traveled over 150 miles and paid over $800 in tow fees to specifically get my tools and got ripped off big time.

Rodrigo was awesome to work with. My son and I broke down in Gallup and Rodrigo was exceptionally helpful to us, even helping us get a ride to another U-Haul dealer so we could continue our way west. He went above and beyond for us. We greatly appreciated him!

I needed Roadside Assistance and they sent out a guy from American Muffler. The guy came as soon as he could and got us back on the road. He was great and very courteous. I was very happy with the service.

I locked myself out of my truck and Steven came to the rescue!. He was extremely polite and got me back on the road in no time. Thank you so much, Steven and American Muffler!

These guys saved me a few months ago fixing a broken driveshaft for me, that was perfect so naturally my first thought was to call them when my other car broke down on the freeway. One call, one night in a hotel and one morning later I was back on the road again. FANTASTIC

We were in the process of moving cross country and we’re in an accident which totaled out my towing vehicle. We were in need of immediate help and Poncho was there within 15 minutes. He arrived at the scene give us guidance to a shop was able to store our trailer while he had our truck towed to the collision repair shop. He was able also to get our trailer Wheel bearing repaired all within a day so that we continue on our trip literally some of the best customer service I’ve seen in years we highly recommend American Muffler & Towing Poncho is awesome and so is his crew special shout out to Derrick.

Had two blowouts on the same side of our travel trailer today! David and Steven took that extra step to made us feel comfortable that they’d take good care of us. Their professionalism and knowledge is why I’m giving them high ratings for a job well done.

On Friday 02/07/25 My engine overheated right outside of Grants, NM and I was literally stranded in the pitch black dark for roughly over an hour. Thank God for American Muffler & Towing being available. And, Thank God for David my tow truck driver. David went above & beyond the call of duty as a tow truck driver, displayed professionalism in every sense of the word, and it was a pleasant 1 & 1/2 hour drive. I highly recommend to use American Muffler & Towing when the stuff hits the fan. They Saved me in the black of night and got me home Safe & Secure back to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Great Tow Trucking Service ALL- Around.

My 2011 Tahoe broke down in Gallup, and lucky for me, it was close by American Muffler & Towing. The transmission was fried. They replaced it, and also caught a crack in the manifold, and found me a replacement at an excellent price. Pancho and Rodrigo did a great job. I was away during the repair, and flew to Albuquerque when it was ready, and David towed the Tahoe to my hotel there, and I continued the drive to Kentucky. I've been driving it for 3 weeks now, and it runs like a top! I'm extremely happy with the job they did, and their great customer service. I was blessed that my Tahoe broke down in Gallup. Highly recommend!!

Driving back to GA from CA with three kids in the car and hit something on the highway causing a flat. A truck was sent within an hour. We were taken to town, dropped the car at a tire shop and even dropped us off at our hotel. Quick, dependable, kind and reasonably priced! THANK YOU!!!

We had an emergency muffler issue while traveling and these guys got us in and done fast. They delivered more than promised and did it in a manner we could afford. They were amazing to work with and we are so grateful. We cannot say enough good about them.

My husband and I were heading to our San Antonio, Texas, home from Salt Lake City, Utah. We hit a large pothole flattering two tires just past exit 53 on I40 about 30 miles east of Gallup, New Mexico. David was the best. He arrived about 45 minutes after we made our call. He then towed us to the Subaru dealer in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which was 115 miles from the famous pothole. The drive that would usually have taken 1 1/2 hours took 3 hours because of road word. David was able to keep us entertained throughout our misfortune and long drive. I would highly recommend David at American Muffler & Towing a 1000 times. Thank you once again, David, from one Frenchie lover to another.

I would give ten stars if I could. David was the best. He and Jason went beyond just giving me a tow. They didn't leave until my car was loaded onto the u haul trailer. I have a metal plate and screws holding my back together. I wouldn't have ever done that alone. I was having trouble with the ap on my phone, and they even helped me through that too. It's the people who work there that make, or break any business. I was lucky to find these two people. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.

Stranded vehicle, unable to move it in a lane on a highway in a dangerous position. This company was alerted by our insurance company and we had an ETA that constantly read between 50-65 minutes 2 hours after confirmation they were in the way. One, just one call to the company and the attitude started with ‘your provider gave you an ETA don’t bother me’. Arrived with the ETA still showing 60 minutes out. Attitude continued with ‘I’m here as a privilege, I don’t have to tow you’. When I pointed out he was being paid and this was a service job, driver ‘Mike’ told me I could ride in the back inside the towed vehicle. I told him I knew that is illegal in NM and it would be his ticket, but happy at that point to ride there, which I was, Illegally, allowed to do (speaking of illegal driver truck has 14-inch crack in windshield in line of vision). So, paying for a tow in an emergency situation is now a ‘privilege’ with this company. Making *one* call to check ETA in an emergency is a burden which tees off the driver to the point he wants to fight with customers. Do I really need to add ‘avoid’?

Super disappointed in what happened to us yesterday. My family (including our dogs and 9 year old daughter) got stuck in deep snow in the mountains. After calling our insurance company- we were told this company had soonest available to help. After 2 hours of waiting and trying to call him, I finally got ahold of him when he told us he will not do those rescues but he may know someone in Grants who could. We were stranded ALL day and kept calling and calling with no response to even tell us that guy wouldn’t do it. On top of it all, we continued to get updates from our insurance company that he was on his way and that he even completed the job! Not a very stand up guy like all these people keep saying to leave a family with a 9 year old stranded in the mountains with not even a call back to tell us he definitely wouldn’t be able to help us.

We were traveling on I-40 and got a flat tire on our RV from a bad valve stem. When getting our spare on we learned other valve stems looked bad too and could be a problem down the road. We had another 6 hours to go for our trip and needed a repair to be safe. We drove our RV a short distance to American Muffler and Towing and Pancho and his crew took care of us right away! We were able to safely get back on the road in less than two hours! They did a great job and we would definitely go here again! They made what was a stressful situation a pleasant experience.

I called Double J Towing. The guy told me he would be 20 minutes! I ended up waiting an hour and a half before I had to call American Muffler and Towing. Jonathan took charge and showed up in 5 min! Wow! Talk about speedy service! He was super polite! He got the job done safe and fast! Goodness it’s nice to see there are still some young men working hard and efficiently! Thank you for the awesome service and great price! I will definitely be recommending you to a lot of people!

Edward...My hero!! My savior!! I can't thank him enough for saving me tonight! I hit a pothole on northbound 491 (that big nasty pothole near KFC) and it instantly murdered my front tire. It was just after 9pm. I put in a request through my AAA app, and Edward The Savior called me. ? He showed up soon thereafter and was super nice and professional. He moved my intact rear tire to the front and put the spare in the back to make it more driveable. He explained what to expect as I drove home. And if I have any future issues, he recommended that I call American Muffler & Towing directly (then get the call approved by AAA) in order to shorten any response time. ? Living alone out here as a woman can be tough, but in situations like this, it's so much easier with the help of wonderful professionals like Edward!! Thank you again for rescuing me! To any boss of Edward: TAKE GOOD CARE OF THIS MAN!! ??

It looks like we're gonna make it but even if we don't, I can't thank these guys enough for the effort!!!! We were passing through on our way to California, had an exhaust issue. Called, very nice employee met me in the parking lot, greeted me and I provided the information about my issues. I had a timeline of when I needed my car repairs completed, they met the timeline, great price and I felt safe with these wonderful folks.

The team was amazing!! They saved us from being stuck overnight! En route from NY>Cali we got a flat right outside of Gallup. Thankfully they had the tire in stock and got us back on the road within the hour. Super nice people!!!
