Over charging people who are vulnerable due to emergency snow storm. All while being rude. Terrible place

Damaged the bumper on my car, said nothing about it, no ownership of their actions.

So I call and they tell me the police told them to tow my car. I call the police they said no they did not. Oh perfect so falsely representing police authorization. Got it. My car was parked on the corner so Iets just say it was less than 25 feet from crosswalk or stop signs. These are ticket-able offenses and cars in violation can only be towed if police call for a tow, which they did not. A “neighbor called” is also not suitable authorization for towing in this situation. All of this goes against the Towing Predatory Act. File your complaint with the Consumer Affairs, Police Internal Affairs and Muncipal court clerk so an investigation can be opened. You can do this from home online and Consumer Affairs only needs 5-10 have to report for an investigation to be opened. You will get a refund. Stop letting them do this to us and do something about it

Horrible!! CITYWIDE TOWING & PATERSON PD needs to be investigated!! The whole block where i live got towed without any reason for it, on top of that they damaged my car and others, and lets not even talk about the fees they hit you with, stay away from these people, God bless the good folks out there that have to deal with this type of nonsense

Parks illegally with out emergency lights impeding traffic. Near wawa garfield nj. At 7:15pm 1/15/26. Looking at reviews, it seems like they are affiliated with Paterson Police. I think its time for Paterson and this company to be audited and investigated. Will return with an update.

This people are stealing and need to be investigated, they are even creating fake information to steal people’s money. I got tow because allegedly I was too close to the fire Hydrant, I saw the guy taking my car and went to talk to him, he was very Rude and said I had to wait until morning to get my car back when I offered to pay whatever was needed to unhook my car, then he proceeded to force my door open when I asked him why he is forcing my door what he needs from MY CAR, he said to me is none of my business what’s he’s doing in my car, I recorded the hold encounter, and before and during my encounter there’s no sight of a ticket in my car for them to fabricate a ticket with the time 9:45 pm when all this happened at 11:10 pm and I wasn’t even home at 9:45 pm and I have proof. So that means they are fabricating fake ticket with fake time to justify the towing. Now I see the comments here and this is their regular job, reap people’s pockets, plus overcharge and steal , and very bad customer service, and Sexism employees.

Anthony was extremely helpful and understanding. Despite the circumstances I was very pleased with the services.

I also had a miscommunication regarding a parking incident at the apartment building where I reside where my car was scheduled to be towed. The tow truck driver at City Wide was extremely rude and nasty and would not unhook my car, even when I begged him to please give me a second to call my management company to explain. I stood there and watched my car being towed, and now have to pay almost $500 for an incident that could have been avoided with any kind of customer service.

Car broke down near my house. Mike M. Came out very quickly. Under hour wait even though eta was 75 mins. Fast,quick flatbed tow and delivery. Excellent work!! Would request again.

Grateful for Manny!!! Life happens & I forgot to renew my registration. The city called Citywide, towing and thankfully, I caught the tow truck in time. I explained to Manny I was paying for it as we speak. He kindly waited for me to show him my registration renewal receipt & left my car exactly where it was. Kindness and patience goes a long way in this world, and I’m grateful that citywide has employees like Manny who understand!!

Very bad service, very bad The employees always have a bad attitude. They're always smoking while you wait. They take your car from all over the place and even give you a fake, empty ticket. They're unfriendly, very rude, and have no empathy for anyone. I just hope God has mercy on them and can forgive everything they do to others.

The driver of this company refused to take the drop off feed even though the car wasn't even hook up yeah I will be taking this to court i have videos of what happen

My sister is a diabetic and was lost in Paterson. She parks her car absolutely frightened from the area and feeling lightheaded because her sugar is low. She is looking for directions and at least a drink from a local store. She parked in the wrong spot. She comes back and the car is towed. She calls the police department and they give her the information about where her car is stationed. She cannot pick it up until tomorrow morning. The guy at city wide towing was rude and hung up. They are closed for the day. Her purse was in the car. She has only $5 cash in her pants. So now she is stranded in Paterson walking home. All because she got off on the highway to stop and get a water or Gatorade. The police department didn’t want to hear it and said there is nothing that they can do. City wide couldn’t care less. They close at 1:30 pm they aren’t a legit 24 hour location. Paterson and city wide towing company work hand in hand to abuse regular everyday folks. All they want is money to fill their pockets without caring about or listening to the persons circumstance.

have never felt more humiliated in my life. I went to the office at 54 Shady St because my car had been towed, and when I asked for help, a white-haired employee in his fifties with a heavy build spoke to me with total contempt, as if I were garbage. He didn’t even let me explain my situation and literally kicked me out. Terrible customer service — I hope I never have to go back there again.

Can’t give it a zero star but all you’re doing is wasting your time with these guys. Waited almost 4 hours to have them cancel on me. But the best part is when I call and they just hang up acting like they’re putting me on hold because they don’t have the decency to say sorry we should’ve told you we cancelled. Pathetic.

The worst, and I thought Classic was bad for overcharging people I was moving loading all day into the night and left the truck parked legally to take a friend home from Broadway and 33rd to Haledon round trip I'll give it 20 minutes I came back and the truck was gone and they told me to bring $930 cash and the cop that had it towed had to be watching me load the truck and when he saw me leave he jumped at the opportunity to get it towed with my things in it . I was moving, not working there is a difference, and our public servants can't tell the difference. There's a real problem in this city, and that's why I'm out . BY PATERSON, GOOD LUCK WITH ALL THAT YOU'RE NOT DOING FOR THE CITIZENS OF PATERSON.

What experience can I share? ... Friend's car got towed from less than four blocks away after being rear-ended and vehicle was stored overnight from around 10PM to before Noon next day and paid about $350. Vehicle was released without hassle though... you be the judge.

We are an agency and were trying to have car tow paid for but manager refused to take our business credit card and asked for a notarized letter to use the card. This has never happened to us. We saw them be extremely aggressive and disrespectful to our client. They are extorting clients because we could have paid for the tow today, he asked us to pay cash and I advised him we need banking records as a business hence why we are paying with a card to document the payment. I advised them that they need to show customers these policies that in order to pay with a business credit card we need a notarized letter but they had nothing. I advised them they are using this as an excuse to add more costs and fees to keep the car longer and their behavior is extremely unacceptable and unprofessional. They are only getting away with this because they are located in Paterson and taking advantage of people’s rights and vulnerability and no one is holding them accountable

Unprofessional to the max, initial call stated the driver would be here 60 mins from the call, an hr an half later nothing, 2 hrs the driver states he is 10 minutes away. Still nothing, I call to complain he says he is 30 mins away. When I call the main line, he tells me his car overheated we are sending a new driver. 3hrs later, no one showed up or gave accurate information, super ghetto customer service on top of that. The name of this company should be changed, there’s zero quality to your service, or professional standards. This company should be embarrassed! Don’t waste your time or money like I did! Ended up canceling the entire service, thank you for absolutely nothing!

I was stranded on the road, waiting for help, and ended up wasting time on the phone. That's when Anthony stopped behind me. He was off work but still offered to help. He called his company to arrange a tow, but after assessing the situation, he managed to find and fix the issue himself, saving me the tow altogether. Anthony was incredibly kind, went out of his way to help, and didn’t ask for anything in return. It’s clear this towing company has great employees who genuinely care. Highly recommend their services!

Car got towed here bc I apparently parked on the wrong side of a 10min parade going on in Prospect Park. (Everyone I spoke with in town said that no one was given any notice about it.) I go to the tow yard on Goffle Road as instructed from Prospect Park Police. I pay an outrageous amount of $235 and then was told my car isn’t on the lot. I had to get a ride to the tow yard in Paterson. I understand that no one is happy when their car gets towed, but wow…what a sht show.

These people are shysters, look at the number of one star reviews and use literally anyone else. The rear suspension on my Prius totally collapsed. I got it home but it was clear I'd need a tow to a professional garage. The garage, who I won't name out of respect, recommended Citywide. Citywide quoted $225, I told them the car didn't have back wheels on, they said $275. Fine. Driver was an hour late but I understand that, it was Sunday. The issue was he had nothing to pick up a car without the rear wheels and flat refused to until I put the wheels on. OK, these things happen but I want to pay the price I was quoted for that. We get to the garage and he won't put the car down without payment. I speak to his office, they want to take the full payment, $275. OK, I'll call the office on Monday and get it sorted out. The manager straight told me when I called that I'd already paid so why would he give me money back? I told him because it's they quoted me that price and I could almost hear the laugh. Don't use these conmen.

If I could give a zero, I would. I honestly never bother leaving reviews when I experience less than adequate service. However, my experience with this company was that bad. There is no effort to communicate with the customer at all. When I called to get an update on the tow, the gentleman in the office was nasty, impolite, and proceeded to hang up the phone on me when I asked about speaking to the person that I had spoken to previously. Ultimately I never received the service that was scheduled after waiting more than 4 hours. They never even bothered to call to let me know that the service wasn’t not complete. I was just left waiting for my car. Had I not called to follow up I would have just continued waiting for a service that would have never been completed.

Horrible towing company, would never use. Gentleman was very rude. Dropped the car off into a tree and then told me that I was being difficult for asking him to move. Was very rude to my wife as well who was shaken up after her first accident.

I'll try to keep this short. My car was towed due to a misunderstanding between the towing company and the apartment complex. When I went to pick up my car I was not upset or had an attitude, firm believer that you receive the same energy you put out. I noticed a big scratch on my car and brought it up. A gentleman came out to look at my car and said that it wasn’t them. I asked a few questions and eventually just let it be. A few days later I called to see if they maybe took any photos of my car before they towed it and a very nice young lady told me that they do take photos and that if I go back they can show me them. I went back and politely asked to see the photos of my car before it was towed to affirm the damage wasn't done by them. The response from the older lady at the front desk was “ Why are you complaining you are not paying to get your car back”. When I tried to explain that it wasn't a complaint just trying to see what happened to my car she just walked to the back. I understand they probably deal with upset people every day but save that energy for those people, not the ones who are not being confrontational. I know they wouldn’t like to be treated like that themselves. Reply to owner: Good Evening, yes it was the location in hawthorne. I added a photo. My car was towed from my apartment complex on January 17 2023, not sure when you guys stopped towing from apartments.

1991 Cressida got impounded for parking and was towed by this company. Get it from the impound lot and get a surprise. Don't know if it was the lot or the towing company but since I have to deal with this after paying everybody they gonna get this review. Response: thank you for a fast response. Yes the Cressida had previous damage in the rear left and some rust holes in the wheel arches. However this is new damage evident from the lack of rust in the new dent. And since the car was impounded from sitting in the same parking for more than four days it further supports that the car couldn't have had this damage prior leaving it to either transit or storage.
