I want to start by saying I always shoo at this shop-rite, however, today my experience with the deli department was so negative I need to let people know. Today I decided to place my deli order in advance since I was short on time. I had only done this once before. My order was supposed to be ready at 10:45 am. When I went to pick it up at 11 it wasn't ready. I then picked a number. I waited for my number to be called, still no express order. When my number was called I went up to the desk and asked if anyone was working express orders since my order was now 25 minutes late. They said yeah we are backed up that isn't going to be ready and then proceeded to call the next number without taking my order. I then asked why they skipped me. They said my order wasn't ready and I said I wanted to order now since I need the cold cuts and I already waited. They said I had to pick a number. I said I did. You called it and then skipped me. I finally got my order done but it took an extra 45 minutes. The order express is supposed to make it faster and allow you to skip the line. Not only was it not faster, but I still had to wait in line and I received very poor customer service

I went to buy some doughnuts and I couldn’t believe the price for a shrunken doughnut. Why are they so small ridiculous. Of course I didn’t buy any and wouldn’t spend 1.25 for crap. This store went down hill . I shop in Bloomfield for my needs . Figuring should be ok for a doughnut.

It’s like a whole new shoprite it’s so much spacious. More variety, helpful workers and the 3 managers are fantastic. They are always working while I’m shopping, always keeping busy not just standing around. There isn’t single time that I’ve gone shopping that I haven’t seen Barbara “one of the managers “ walking around cleaning up, stocking shelves just keeping the store looking great. The other managers Brandy and you have to excuse me but I don’t know the other managers name are always fixing stocking shelves making this store looking fantastic. Thank you shoprite of Lyndhurst for this beautiful store and hats off to Thr managers Barbara ,Brandy and my other manager. These managers should be given a big Christmas bonus????????

The deli department is definitely declined. Employees are not friendly and get annoyed when you ask for something to be cut thin. Done with the attitudes, going to try the Brookdale Shoprite.

Heartfelt Thanks to Joan at ShopRite I rarely take the time to write reviews, but my mom’s recent experience at your store really touched me. My 79-year-old mother went to ShopRite last week to pick up items she needed for her upcoming colonoscopy. She wanted to handle it herself rather than wait for me or my brother, even though she wasn’t sure what many of the items were or where to find them. When she asked for help at the Courtesy Desk, she met Joan, who was incredibly kind and patient. Joan not only helped my mom find everything on her list but also offered reassurance when my mom mentioned she was nervous about her procedure. She even made sure my mom got a pitcher she’d forgotten to grab by having someone run to get it for her. Thank you, Joan, for treating my mother with such compassion and respect. You made a difference, and it truly means a lot to our family.

I hate coming here, no worker is willing to help, especially at the customer service desk. I asked the worker to look up a product to see if they sell it, she refused, instead asked on a headset, the guy said no. She said no sorry I walked up and down every beverage aisle to find what I was looking for. What's most frustrating is last time I was here the person looked it up and was extremely helpful ever since it's zero stars. I asked another worker for an item she said if you dont see it, we dont have it. You may renovate the store however it does not make up for the incredibly lacking customer service.

I have been going to this ShopRite for more than 20 years. Recently they are undergoing renovation. But with that said now I see so many new things, like last week I saw varieties of sprouts (kale, radish etc.) which I have not seen anywhere. For my surprise I saw Lactose free Fage Greek Yogurt which I have been longing (again never saw this anywhere else). Now I see the aisle are spacious and more and more new variety of things. Store is clean and every one is friendly, especially the lady in the section where they sell plants/flowers are extremely friendly. Keep it up and please bring more and more healthy varieties. God bless the owner and employees.

I visited ShopRite of Lyndhurst last night, and overall, I had a great experience. Everyone has their own perspective—some good, some bad—but mine was all positive. While it was a bit of a challenge to find certain items, that's to be expected with the ongoing renovations. I stopped by Courtesy and Customer Care and was met with excellent service. I picked up rainchecks and played the lottery. As I walked through the aisles, I came across a very helpful employee—I believe her name was Stephie. She was extremely kind and helped me find exactly what I needed. I used the self-checkout, which felt a bit awkwardly set up, but I was promptly greeted and directed to an available terminal. Thank you, ShopRite of Lyndhurst. I’ll definitely be back!

I had the pleasure to shop here today and was super impressed with the results of the remodeling. The layout is great and they were well stocked. Every single aisle was thoughtfully planned and it was so easy to find what you need. The cakes in the bakery were beautiful. I tried the food from the hot buffet and it was freshly cooked and delicious (highly recommend the bbq chicken wings and breaded mushrooms). There were plenty of helpful employees to direct us and multiple cashiers kept the lines moving. All employees were super friendly and it was a real nice experience. After covid I felt the store had changed, but after shopping today I see that there is a vast improvement. I’m happy to be back, since it was always my favorite supermarket.

As a father of two and a Black man who recently moved to Lyndhurst, I want to share my experience at the local ShopRite. I've been shopping there regularly for the past nine months, and every time, I've encountered nothing but kindness, professionalism, and helpfulness from the staff. I've been treated with respect -- no less, no more than any other customer -- and I deeply appreciate that. That's why I'm surprised when I hear accusations of racial profiling at this location. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist -- I've experienced it in my life, so I know exactly what it looks and feels like. But not everything we don't like is automatically racism. Sometimes, situations just don't go our way because we might actually be in the wrong -- and playing the race card in those moments can undermine real issues when they do occur. As Black parents, many of us have difficult but necessary conversations with our children about racism, bias, and how to navigate this world. But part of that conversation, at least in my home, is about knowing the difference between being treated unfairly because of race -- and simply not getting what you want. I won't teach my children to see racism where it isn't. I will teach them to stand up to it when it's real -- and to walk in truth and fairness in every other situation. I'll continue shopping at this ShopRite until I see a reason not to. So far, the people there have given me no reason to feel unwelcome. Let's do better -- all of us. Racism is real and serious, but it's too important an issue to be used as a weapon every time we don't like the answer we're given.

Twice in two weeks they forgot my cold goods in online pick up. I order online for the convenience, having to go back and pick up again is not convenient! Someone needs to be trained again.

ShopRite of Lyndhurst is one of the cleanest and most organized supermarkets I’ve been to. The store is spacious and never feels overcrowded, which makes shopping easy and stress free. There is a massive parking lot with plenty of space, and the store is wheelchair accessible with wide entrances and mats at the doors. Inside, the aisles are neat and well stocked, and I’ve noticed staff members are always friendly, patient, and willing to help if you need something. Prices are competitive, checkout is smooth, and there are multiple options for self-checkout or full service. Overall it’s a well-run location that makes grocery shopping convenient and comfortable.

Clean, spacious, great variety, but shitty customers service. Came here around 930 pm, 9/3/2025, and was met with this horrible store rep. I didn't get his name but he was bald, bloodshot/jaundice-like eyes, glasses, black/white mixed race, slack jawed, and 300+ lbs. He was wearing headphones and black pants. Anyways, I was having a hard time finding the parchment paper. I asked for his help, and all I got was sarcasm. "It hasn't moved. It's in the baking aisle." I responded with, "Geez no need for the attitude or sarcasm", and walked away. He started to yell and denied he even said anything. Why are you working with people if you can't even handle giving simple instructions?! Someone needs to remind that guy what he signed up for and what customer service is all about.

There is no way to give zero stars, but that is what I would give if I could. This store is horrible to shop in. From the time I entered until I left, the staff followed me around the store. They kept announcing on the intercom where in the store my son and I were and immediately staff pretending to be on the phone dressed in all black showed up and feigned fake stocking activities and cleaning. I have worked in retail for over 30 years, so it was VERY obvious and overtly racist. I am a shopper for Instacart as well as several other delivery services. I have been to this location at least 3 times and each time I have encountered some sort of racist or biased event. The last time I was there it was for what should have been a simple pick up of a completed order (should have only taken about 10 mins and ended up being over an hour due to the staff helping other online shoppers who came in after me), the staff uttered racial slurs and made fun of my hair. I just ignored it then and gave the benefit of the doubt. Thought it might have just been a one-off. This time, I am publicizing the incident and will avoid going in the location going forward. I wanted to be sure that I spoke out in case any other person of color experiences the same thing. There are many people who work for the food delivery services. We don't deserve to be treated the way this store treats us. I hope whoever sees this review can actually do something to bring about change or to at least raise awareness of the hate culture present there. I will be sure to decline any future offers presented through the food delivery servic apps from this store and hope others follow suit.

I’ve been shopping at ShopRite for over 10 years, but over the past year and a half, the decline has been hard to ignore. The store used to be clean, organized, and welcoming—now it smells like rotting produce as soon as you walk in. There are flies swarming around the fruits, vegetables, and even the bakery section. I’ve seen expired items still sitting on shelves or the shelves are so empty I walk right out of the store. It feels like no one cares anymore. Guest services has become downright rude, and on more than one occasion, I’ve overheard managers having inappropriate, unprofessional conversations with staff while customers are standing right there. It’s disappointing to see a once-great store go downhill like this.

I have to give a shout out to the bakery team at this ShopRite! They help make my daughter’s 5th birthday amazing! The pull apart unicorn cupcake cake was LOVED by everyone. It was awesome. Thank you!

After renavation years ago, it became one of the best ShopRite’s in New Jersey. Their sushi is fresh with reasonable price.

The store is big and has a lot to offer. The Deli is absurd. We’ve been waiting over 45 minutes to get Cole slaw. They need more people.

I’ve heard so many people tell me how bad this ShopRite is but I can tell you that is baloney. This store is clean and the layout is very good. They have a small area with tables and the nice produce section. The store is huge and is well stocked. They have self checkout and plenty of registers. The employees are friendly and this is one of my favorite ShopRite’s

As a new resident in New Jersey so far ShopRite 's are one of the best Now let's talk about ShopRite Lyndhurst Very well organized like all other stores of the chains As extra , this shop is very clean , staff are everywhere, you can ask get help if needed The shop was very busy but the extra staff made us not feel it... Thank you Everything was in stock , thanks to the stock robot which was roaming in the store :)) Fair pricing Good design Easy parking Lots of other shops in the complex Enjoy

I love this ShopRite! I have no complaints about the produce, and entire store is typically very well stocked.  The employees are very helpful and polite. If you're gonna use one of those motorized carts, #8 & #9 are the strongest and fastest. They are open till midnight so I love shopping late to have the store all to myself. The individuals stocking the shelves late at night are also polite and helpful.  I've never sat down to eat at the buffet area. It always looks clean when I pass it though. Averaging the times I've used the bathroom over the many years I have shopped here I give it a 9 out of 10.  Overall the expiration dates seem to be rotated very well. The meat department always smells fresh. (No smell is good smell around uncooked meat lol)  I don't have to question the meat section, cold cut department or fish department. That is a huge reason why I continue to shop here!  This is not as remodeled and new as the ShopRite in Wallington but that doesn't matter to me because this location is kept very clean and orderly.  For convenience, they have 2 large deli cases with pre-cut cheese and meats, one for Thumann's and one for other brands. I have never come across expired packages in there, once again, this is why my family continues to give this place thousands of dollars a year in business. Most of the time the check out lines are small to medium. Only on an occasion do I wait long. Approximately 10:30pm-11pm they close all or all but 1 register. Closer to Midnight zero registers may be open, and I have to rely on those self checkouts. I dislike using them, especially with large orders.  (This last comment gives me the opportunity to highlight the fantastic customer service once again) Someone will come over and ask if I need help, or I can ask if I need to.  If you need help to the car they can also call someone for assistance. Now to compare ShopRite to Stop & Shop Lyndhurst or Foodtown N. Arlington.  In the past 30 years ShopRite (all stores in general) has the best selection and variety of any Supermarket Hands Down!  Foodtown is very small and overpriced. Stop & Shop would be the closest thing to 2nd place. If I go shopping at any of these 3 stores without coupons or checking for sales I will leave ShopRite paying the least as well. Best Supermarket in the area! P.S. In case u look at the pics, I wonder if it was humanly possible to stuff that motorized cart more than I did. I decided it was wise to get the eggs next time ha ha

Holidays can be stressful and food shopping during these busy times can really drive you nuts. From finding a parking spot to pushing through choked isles, good staff and good customer service are what can make the difference in making the entire grocery shopping experience bearable and maybe even a pleasure. Shoprite of Lyndhurst, NJ is that place. I grew up in New Jersey, Newark actually and my mom is still there. Visiting for the Thanksgiving from my new home in FL, I accepted the offer to help cook dinner. Mom lives across the street from a supermarket, but she insists we drive 10 miles away, across 4 towns to this Shoprite. Why? Is it the sheer size and vast availability of products? Can it be the freshness and quality of it's produce? Perhaps the reason she passes over two other Shoprites is because of the professionalism and efficiency of its staff...I think it's all of them and more. During our visit we filled TWO shopping carts with stuff, we stopped several employees to ask for help and were treated with courtesy and respect, not just by floor members but especially by my cashier, Crystal, she was amazing. I missed my mom so much so this was such a good way to bond and spend time with her. Thank you Shoprite of Lyndhurst.

Neat, Clean, well laid out & lots of Parking. Staff is cheerful and friendly. Overall atmosphere - really good. Great prices - and diverse choices. Their in-house bakery section is awesome ! ....and so is their flower shop - right next to the entrance. Enjoy visiting this grocery store !
