I recently moved to Lynhurst a year ago and on my street. They have streak cleaning every Thursday, which is phenomenal but the only problem is that on Thursdays you can’t park there from 2 to 4 and the other side of the street. You can’t park from 7 to 4 so there’s literally no place to park Now for the past month and a half the street cleaner hasn’t come. I normally come home from work to take a break at one, but I can’t on those days but with Half they haven’t came not too happy with them
I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with the regular garbage department in Lyndhurst, NJ. Their performance in terms of garbage collection has been nothing short of disappointing.
Cons:
Inconsistent Collection: The most significant issue I've encountered is the inconsistency in garbage collection. There have been numerous occasions when our trash, including essential items like wood, has been left uncollected for days.
Lack of Accountability: What's even more frustrating is the lack of accountability. When we report missed collections, there's little to no response from the department. It's as if they evade their responsibility to address customer concerns.
No Improvement: Despite reporting these issues repeatedly, there has been no noticeable improvement in their services. It's disheartening to see that the same problems persist without any effort to rectify them.
Overall Impression:
I cannot emphasize enough how disappointing my experience has been with the Lyndhurst garbage collection service. Their unreliability, lack of responsiveness, and failure to address ongoing issues make them a far cry from the efficient and dependable service we should expect.
I hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for the department to improve their services and provide the basic level of garbage collection that the community deserves.
Lyndhurst DPW does a fine job in all phases, even clearing up road hazards, and is efficient in removing even sanitary hazards as recently happened at the bus stop near Kingsland Station. Great job!
Lyndhurst Public Works employees care about this community. Of course, all emergencies happen on weekends. On two occasions, I called the number, and the call was taken by an officer of the police department. He took all my info and a town DPW employee called me within 30 minutes. They asked about the problem and came and check the sewer lines near my home. Really checked for any possible blockage near my home. They game me an all-clear, so I called a plumber to clean out my sewer line from my home to the street. Great team.
We just moved in and had water in basement, we didn’t know what to do so we called them. They came so fast to check for us and then without us even asking they came back later on in the day to check if everything was okay and that meant so much!! Very professional and responsive!
