I called to get my belongings out of the car only 2 day later after being impounded. They told me I would have to pay them 100.00 just to get my stuff out of the car less than 24 hrs. That's absolutely ridiculous and a money hungry company stay away from the rip off people!
We got into a really horrible accident and DPD called Sweetman without asking us. We were not asked where to take the car and we also have no memory of signing any kind of agreement. Insurance was dragging their feet and the woman who answered the phone told me not to pay out of my own pocket to get my car back. I listened as I’ve never dealt with something like this. They claimed I abandoned my vehicle so my dad went down there. They decided to “let me” get my car back for $3500 cash only. We talked them down to $2000. When we went in too pay they told us that we couldn’t get a receipt unless we gave them an additional $175 for “taxes”. Once the car was home we inspected it and found that my catalytic converter was removed. It was NOT stolen. All of the bolts and covers were in my locked trunk. There were a few car decorations that were also gone. DO NOT let this man tow your vehicle. I can’t even believe the cops still use them.

They will try to tell you your car is totaled, prices are unreasonable, and the lady who answers the phone is inadequate and unprofessional.
Car had to be towed due to car accident involving a pregnant mother driving alone.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING TREATED LIKE GARBAGE! WILL WITHHOLD YOUR CAR FROM YOU FOR 3 HOUR LUNCH BREAKS AS WELL! Spouse got into an accident that put the car out of commission. The police took it upon themselves to call this tow-er. The tow yard was less than 10 minutes from the accident scene, and the tow guy told my spouse to come get the car from the yard for $400.00 cash (yes, FOUR HUNDRED dollars) before 330pm to avoid a storage fee!
First of all, that tow was in NO WAY more than $100 any day! But because the tow already occurred in all the stress and hubbub of the accident, we were stuck with whatever charge they wanted to pull out of thin air! How is anyone given enough time to arrange a tow?!
Their ramshackle "office" with no name on it smells like black mold, and their "yard" is smaller than mine and with a less useful fence--leaving a car overnight would be a thief's dream.
Words of advice to anyone reading this--DO NOT let your car leave a scene with anyone without your clear say-so and PAPERS in-hand for you.
If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Long story short, my car got stolen. The police officer did not file the report and so I had to go to court for abandonment of a vehicle.. the court dismissed the tickets out because I had proof I did not steal my own vehicle. My car was towed to swetman’s so I gave them a call.. actually, multiple calls to see if we could work something out. I tell them the court dismissed my tickets for the abandonment and the owner tells me, “that’s besides the point.” The owner and his secretary both got rude and hung up the phone on me.. what a horrible place ran by horrible people.
What a piece of company. How rude all their employees that work there are. On top of I tried to get my car the same day but they was closed and it was 2 on a Friday. Then finally able to get to my car and had some of my belongings stolen. Whatever yall do please don't ever use this company. Plus was finally able to get out Monday and cost 550.00. What a rip off. They really don't even deserve a star but has to give them something in order to write about them.
My experience with this company was absolutely terrible. The woman who answers the phone lies and gives you the wrong information. Had our truck towed to their lot, after another truck tboned us, and not only were they gonna charge my husband $175 just to get his ID out of the truck, but wouldnt allow him to get his medical items out of the vehicle. Medication, Walker, all of it. The taller guy told my husband that he was gonna "have" my husband's truck one way or another. They treat you like a criminal and the police department doesn't help you. I would never recommend this company to anyone. EVER
They are trying to charge me 150.00 to go get stuff out of my vehicle. I need my sons car seat and they won’t let me come get it untill I pay 150.00 it was in a wreck and I have liability insurance but when she asked if I had insurance and I told her I had liability she said so I don’t have insurance. Horrible agency.
If u ever find yourself needing a tow, do NOT call Swetman Motor Company on Caillavet. My son was in a minor accident yesterday and the driver was extremely rude and unprofessional! He wanted take the car to his tow yard so he could charge a daily storage fee but I made him tow it to my house. Charged $150 to tow it 2 miles and he also tried to change his price 3 different times. VERY SHADY!!!!!
They are very rude. I tried to get my vehicle the same day it was towed but they didnt allow it. They said the police had a hold on it. 4 days later when the accident report was finished the police said there was nerver a hold. So i had to pay for 4 extra days for a lie. I had to pay in cash probably so there's no record on there end. But a heads up to everyone get all there statements in writing just incase you need to make a case. They put a bad light on the swetmen name.
They are a shady company and will only accept cash they had my car for 3 days picked it up on a Friday night and I got it Monday and my bill was over $500.00 they are rude and inconsiderate I DO NOT recommend using this company for any reason
