Poor customer service all around. Missed recycling on various occasions. Monthly price fluctuated regularly which was confusing. When we finally switched companies, I was told all my payments were complete and I would only incur a $25 bin pickup fee. Turns out I had to pay one more months worth of service AND a $42 pickup fee.

I’ve used WM for over 30 years and have rarely had a problem with any of the services. Occasionally, there may be a delay in pick up, but I’ve never been forgotten. I wouldn’t change service providers.

Always on time & very communicative, their app makes it easy to see everything with your pickup & billing! I've used them for many years and am very happy with the service :)

Offer smaller bins for smaller households. We generate one or two grocery bags of trash per week. No need for a gigantic bin taking up space in our garage. Recycling too.

We are very unhappy with WM and we are eager for our contract to end. We pay roughly $500/month for 3 containers and we have at least 1 missed pickup a month. We will be changing companies when our contract ends even if it means we have to pay more. It’s nearly impossible to reach a customer service agent with any power. If Dispatch decides your stop is getting skipped there’s hardly anything you can do about it. 1 star.

Outstanding service! Sometimes we forget to push our dumpster down to the pick up spot and the driver on our route, always pushes it down and back up for us if we forget! We are so grateful for this employee!

Wish waste management would stop buying out other garbage service providers in my area, how hard is it to pick up a bag that falls out of the trash bin . It’s happened more than once

CONSTANTLY cancelling services. No reimbursement. Final straw is they canceled my FINAL yard waste pickup and would not come at a later date. Had to move all the bags of leafs back up to the house in the cold and snow and figure out what to do with them. Wasn’t even credited for the cancellation. I’ll be switching to NITTY or the other option Lakeville has. Stay away from WM. Love their PGA tourney tho!

The service is reliable and always well done. I do wish it wasn't necessary to call them every few months to keep the cost from going up.

Pick up is going ok lately. I wanted to switch to a smaller Trash container, cause it is just too big for us, but that is not an option. Crazy. I also took us off Auto pay cause the payment was taken out almost two weeks before the due date every month. There is no reason for WM to do that. So now I set up payment on the due date. I realize that I have to pay like $8 more for being off Auto Pay but I don't care. You're not getting my money two weeks before the due date.

Yard waste is hardly ever picked up on the scheduled day. Sometimes get an email telling us it's going to be 1-3 days late other time they just never show up and we have to submit a ticket to get someone back out to pick up our yard waste.

Awful customer service and communication. We received an email on November 24 stating that the final yard waste service would be completed the week of November 24, with service ending November 30th. For my street this service would have occurred on November 28th. When no pickup had occurred by December 1 I contacted customer service. This process took 30 plus minutes to actually speak to a human responsible for our service area. I was then told that the last pickup was November 21. So they sent me an email notifying me of the supposed last pickup 3 days after the actual last pickup day, which is entirely useless. The agent offered a very insincere "sorry" but acted like this was not their fault at all and refused to offer an extra pickup or any credit/discount.

Wm is the is a great company which always makes me feel good in my Nabour hood. They give all information about my trash and always the trash without no debris, I really thank you for your good work including the driver

You seem to have a continuing problem of picking up garbage/recycle/compost in a timely manner. A number of times it is a day after my scheduled date. I'm contributing this to not enough drivers.....??

Horrible. Awful. The worst. They are awful- always late for pick up- often by several days. When we canceled they made it as hard as possible and kept sending us bills. We would call and they would say we were good but then we would get another bill. They are awful. I finally paid it because I was tired of them harassing me. I didn’t owe them any money! They are a horrible business. Do not use them.

The physical service is fine. They usually pick up on the day they say they will, but my problem is the communication about the service days. I don’t think it should be so difficult to find in my account information online what dates the yard waste begins and ends. I’ve called previously and they said they’d email me with the dates, but I never received anything back from them. I’d like to be able to find it in my account and get an email about the end of yard waste pickup.

After 5 years of being a loyal customer we are done with Waste Management. For the last couple of years we have had a missed pickup of our Recycling (always the Recycling as the issue) at least once every 30 days it would be missed. We would then go online and see they sent us a notice as to why (driver sick, weather, etc) and they pick up next day or we have to call and say Hey, you forgot us and they would come next day. Last week it happened again where the bins (garbage & recycle) goes out the night before and no pickup on trash (Wed) day. We called it in and the person tells us the driver wrote down "bin was not outside". My husband went back and forth explaining we have never missed a garbage day and they said "Well..our driver said you did forget to put the bin out". Had we forgotten to put it out why do only 1 and not both bins?, honestly we just wouldn't have called..that error would have been on us. We have been cooperative, patient and understanding when this happens over and over again & we never submitted a complaint, but we do not appreciate when they forget again to pick up our Recycling and imply we are lying when we called to let them know they missed our bin. Good thing we have video doorbell showing bin was in fact outside. Poor customer response with attitude lead us to the decision to finally cancel our service with WM. We will be getting a new Waste Service and they just lost a 5+ year customer. (photo shows green bin with yellow lid)

Six weeks!! This is how many weeks we have been without somebody collecting our yard waste. If I could give you zero I would! How on earth we continue to get charged for service to this company is beyond me, if everyone could get paid and not have to actually show up to their job, what a luxury that would be?!! After my husband has been spending weekly times on the phone for them to a promise to come out and collect, they have not come! We don’t even live in the state for the next few months and my mother who is 83 no less, drives out to check our driveway many times throughout the week and let us know that status on our yard waste. There are so many competitors in Dakota County for trash collection, if you’re trying to make a decision RUN AWAY! The minute we can get home I will toss those trash cans to the curb and this company as well!

I do not trust Waste Management quote when doing the contract. The actual invoice is way higher or I would say it is double then the quoted amount. When I requested to correct the invoice, somebody forced me to sign new contract and assure me now the invoice amount will be stable. But, still I am facing the same problem and the invoice is keep increasing every time.

I have two trash containers and repeatedly only one is emptied on my actual service day. I have to have someone come back for the second one. Otherwise, great service. cans are dumped, no debris falls out, and cans are put back decently. Thanks WM!

When the weather gets bad, they seem to miss my stop and won't come back until the following week even when I call and complain. With three boys generating ALOT of garbage, the can is well overfilled by the end of the second week. They just hiked my rate up over $15 with no real explanation, I called, complained and they dropped the rate back down but not to where it was. The text messages and e-mail alerts are a bonus, it is nice to know about an upcoming changes in the service.

I am considering changing to a different Hauler. You have always done a great job for us but in our community of Mendota Heights we have too many haulers noisily racing around our neighborhood You enow pick up midday instead of the morning, Your 3 trucks are up and down our streets for over 2 hours every MONDAY. I cannot sit on my deck and enjoy the afternoon because of the noise you bring to our neighborhood I have called in and complained to no avail. Please consider switching your pick up to early morning Get our of our neighborhood early so we can enjoy some peace

The Service getting the dumpster was fantastic, but there’s nothing on the website that tells you about the Holloway fee and the details of that. It was very difficult to understand how to get A pick up done and it was nothing explaining the Holloway fee was not happy about that

Pick-up is always on time, and we are notified of any delays. However, getting price increases continually and when calling in to ask about it, the reps are rude on the phone and when asked to speak to a supervisor was told they would not let me talk to anyone else, but yet could not answer my questions. This is not what I consider good customer service on the pricing and contact end.

While the services provided are executed very well, the crew is professional and leave everything in great condition. The lack of consistency in their pickup schedule is genuinely appalling. WM is more consistent in NOT providing the service you're actively paying for instead of actually doing their job. If you think WM would ever try to make things right with the customer, you're sadly mistaken. WM will put in absolutely no effort to resolve a pick up that they themselves missed, they won't reach out or anything, you'll just be left hanging and hope that they actually do their job next week. This of course makes things difficult when they miss a couple weeks of pick ups. If WM was able to adhere to their own pickup schedule and actually provide the service customers are paying for, they would actually be a viable option in waste management. But ironically, the one thing “Waste Management” can’t seem to manage... is waste.

I missed a yard waste pickup. I have left the container out since June 3, 2025, and Wednesday (June 4, 2025) is normally pickup day. That day, I received an email stating they could not pick it up because they did not see my container. How could they blame us? I called customer service; she said she would schedule a pickup the next day, but no one came. I called again; he said he would schedule a pickup, but again, no one came. It has been out all week. I am unsure what to do. Please improve your service

Just started waste management services this year after moving into a new home. Took more than two months to get our first yard waste pickup actually picked up when the season started. Yard waste picks up only every other week, and usually you get a message saying your service is rescheduled to the next day. Every day. As a Thursday pickup it’s often Tuesday before the yard waste actually gets picked up. Which means my bin is at the curb for almost a week, consistently. Sometimes the drivers mark the service as completed without ever even driving down my street. Nice integrity there, guys. After all the consistent problems and frustrations, and hours spent on hold with customer service time and again, we have decided we will be switching to a different company who not only has weekly yard waste service, but actually completes their pickups regularly. The monthly cost will be the same, and the seasonal yard waste cost is only slightly higher, for more than double the service. Oh yeah, and WM only allows 5 free waste bags each pickup (again, this is only every two weeks). All their competitors in the area allow 10 for no charge. Each week. So more like triple the service for almost the same cost. No brainer here. Can’t recommend this company to anyone.

I’ve had WM for 2 years now. They have consistently delayed yard waste service by 2-3 days each week. I’ve been waiting for yard waste to be picked-up this whole week, and when I returned home once again my bin is still full and service not completed. When I called the support line it’s a computer answering you, and they say my yard service was completed. I waited for 45 minutes to talk to a real person who “transferred” me right back to the initial computer greeting that I started with, all while they said to “hold please while I look into this”. An absolute joke. Please do yourself a favor and pay an extra 20-30$ for a different waste service to actually get your service done and avoid wasting your time! Cancelling services now, it’s been nothing but a headache and highway robbery paying for services that are inconsistent and not completed. Would quite literally be better off putting my money in the yard waste bin to sit there for years so I can use it as compost. Thanks for nothing but disappointment WM. — In response to owner, there is no video of the yard waste pick-up (convenient huh). Services are cancelled and I will happily pay $20-30 more per month to actually get my services done from someone who has something called “pride”. I hope you have the most fantastic week! failure to pick up recycling for over a month. They even reviewed their own video footage and confirmed. Tried to get them to come out to pick up the recycling for a week. This Ken has been waiting for them and once it gets picked up I have more to fill it up with. The manager in charge of recycling keeps canceling the pick up without explanation and without a callback. Business office said if they didn’t pick it up by the end Of the day the manager would come by and pick it up. I called today and they don’t know what I’m talking about. I repeat they have not picked up recycling in a month
