Would not visit this place. Called for pricing and to ensure they took household trash, she misunderstood what I said and got an attitude when I corrected her. Quoted $60-$80 for 4 black trash bags and hung up.

Nice staff and simple process. Can't ask for much more from a transfer station.

Unpleasant experience in the counter.

I would not recommend this landfill.

Before unloading, I checked the pricing chart posted at the entrance, which clearly stated that the disposal fee was 33$ per ton (yard waste) . Based on that information, I disposed of approximately two tons of debris and expected to be charged accordingly.

However, when I went to pay, I was charged $200. When I asked for an explanation, the employee simply said that was the amount the computer generated. I pointed out that the pricing posted at the entrance indicated a much lower rate, and I was told that the signs were old and had not been updated.

If the posted pricing is outdated, it should be removed or replaced immediately. Customers should be able to rely on the information provided by the business and should not be surprised with significantly higher charges after the service has already been completed.

In addition, the customer service was very poor. The gentleman working at the counter appeared annoyed and unwilling to provide a clear explanation or address my concerns professionally. The interaction felt dismissive and unhelpful.

Because of the lack of pricing transparency and the poor customer service experience, we will not be returning to this location.

Quick, convenient and reasonably priced. It was half the cost to rent a dump trailer for half a day load it up and bring it here than to get a dumpster dropped and picked up at my house.

Lady was having a meltdown before I even got to the window because the guy in front of me didn’t know the scale routine. Nothing clearly marked. Post instructions. I pulled right out of the line and left. Professionalism is a novelty these days

Cash or check only. Decent service but annoying I have to carry cash when the rest of the world runs on cards.

I was stressing about where to get rid of a pickup of junk and Freeway Transfer ended up being a great option. Just follow maps. You unload the truck yourself and they mash it into a big trash pile to be hauled away. One pickup was less than $100 bing cash or check tho

I just called to get pricing and the lady was rude and very passive aggressive. Did not want to take time on the phone with me the minute she answered the call. Not really sure why someone like that is answering a phone for any business. Should be a more welcoming and friendly person. Being she was making it clear she was annoyed that someone even called I asked if there was
Someone else I could talk to and she said “Nope, he is in Florida.” Which that’s great that the individual gets to vacation, but if that’s the owner, I’m not sure if you’re getting as much business as you could be getting with someone speaking like their annoyed not just with customers but also with you being gone.

the lady who answered the phone was extremely rude. good way to lose customers, good luck. will not be going here.

Was able to make a pickup load of concrete, wood and metal for decent prices and it's right off the highway

The guy in the morning was helpful and charged me a reasonable price for some remodeling debrie. This place is great to get rid of small residential construction materials. thank you. appreciate being able to use your facility!

I went to this dump site on a Saturday afternoon, and my experience was terrible. The man working there was extremely rude and unprofessional. On top of that, the prices were much higher than other dump sites in the area. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Didn't even get to know if I wanted to use them the young lady that answered the phone was rude. So I said no thank you

We were in the middle of moving to a new city and home and we were in a horrible accident (other driver didn’t yield to oncoming traffic and took a left turn right in front of us) that totaled my car, landed us in the hospital, and delayed our move. We had just enough to rent a Home Depot truck for the day and pay for a haul to a dump and a garage full of old stuff we couldn’t be pained to keep moving that we loaded up broken and bruised. We still got there late and we didn’t have what we needed, but Mike literally saved our asses and showed us mercy. It was the first thing that made me cry in a good way since the accident that almost took me from my kiddos. Mike you just don’t know how much we needed kindness today. Thank you from the bottom of ours hearts.

Not recommended for residential drop off. I had 1/2 a truck bed of old rotted landscape timbers. A couple of them were 8' long. The attendant said it would cost $15 PER BOARD to dump them because "they need to charge labor to cut them up". Ridiculous. All in all he wanted to charge $60 total for maybe 200 lbs of scrap wood. I turned around and brought the load to Lloyds and paid $25 total to dump the load. I will not go back here and I don't recommend anybody else does either.

When you come on Friday, you see a friendly guy and pay $20 for a trunk of old carpet. Then you come on Saturday to off-load the rest of the carpet, lesser amount. On Saturday, you see a different guy who greedily scans your trunk, calculating how much he can make, and charges you $40 for less carpet to dispose. Timing is everything.

Their site says $60 per ton - $60 minimum, but I was charged $80 "cash only" for a truck load that ended up being exactly half a ton. Apparently, you need a contract to get their posted rates. Yeah right, $60 made it into the register and $20 into the jerk's pocket

Easy experience! Rented a truck, filled it up with junk, paid $60 and dumped it. Great service to have around!

I have been very happy with this place. I have seen many reviews talking about the prices. The most i have ever been charged was $60 for a full escalade full of carpet and padding. Today was $30 for a escalade full of bathroom remodeling garbage. I feel like the prices are very fair, also the workers are very nice and that's hard to come by now days.

Their website repeatedly says to call for "competitive rates" yet ive been calling for the last 3 hours and noone has answered and the mailbox is full. Id like to know if im paying 50 bucks or 250 bucks and am not making a drive there to find out.

Significantly higher price than on the sign. Pricing used to be reasonable now it's whatever, you're here. I won't return

Pricing used to be fair now outrageous. Had my teenage nephew drop off a mattress and box spring guy charged $50 each. The fact that they don’t list prices is a red flag. Always negotiate.

I brought some household trash here after I missed our garbage pickup. They charged me a fair price and were very helpful.

UPDATE: CW metals in Lakeville will pay for your scrap metals, just call to verify before you go.

The prices are ridiculous, I pull up and the guy wants $100 cash/check. What is the point of weighing my vehicle if you've already set a price regardless of weight. Is the guy pocketing the cash? Dakota County recycling center is free if they have room.

Hours should be changed, got there and the attendant said that they don't let people in after 3:30. Why does it say that there open until four then? He asked for 10 dollars cash to drop off less than 10 pounds of junk, and I bet he pocketed it himself.

I was extremely impressed with the customer service at Freeway Transfer. Spoke with Christina on the phone. She was very nice and gave me a fair price to dump some crates. When I arrived, I only had to wait about 30 seconds for the one truck in front of me.

When I got there Christina saw what I had, and knocked more than 50% off the previous quote, and was quite nice and polite.

When I went to dump the boxes, I was shocked that someone was there to help me unload. That has never happened at other places. His name was CJ and he was just awesome!

I guess that adds up to .
I couldn’t recommend highly enough. Fabulous customer service!
Will definitely use them again.

Thanks Christina and CJ!

They eyeball your truck and throw a ridiculous amount of $ just to dump.
If they know your options are limited they will get you for a hefty penny.
My truck was not weighed, but was just “inspected” and he threw a $200 dump fee on there.
Other places will weigh you in and out.
And charge based on weight.
But be weary of any dump that tells you a price just by them looking at it.

Why leave a review on a transfer station? Because it’s that good. The people are super helpful, friendly, and great to deal with. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be using them going forward for any junk drop off/landfill needs.

I've used Freeway Transfer six times in the past three years to dispose of building materials from home renovation projects. Prices are much better than county disposal centers and I'm in and out in 10 minutes. All of the staff I have interacted with there are friendly and helpful.

I have driven by this place off the 35 in Burnsville a thousand times and did not know Freeway Transfer was there. I wish I had known long ago, because not having an easy way to dispose of stuff has turned me into an unwilling hoarder. This time, however, my project is refinishing my second two-car garage, so I had to clear it first. I had a lot of junk to clear from home remodeling projects and years of accumulating stuff, but did not have room for a giant metal dumpster on my driveway. That lead me to alternatives like the smaller burlap bins you see in people's yards all over the place, calling my trash hauler, etc. Turns out you buy those soft bins, and then pay separately to have them emptied. Both are expensive and they can pick through the bin and charge you extra for all types of stuff.

For clean scrap metal, chemicals and flourescent bulbs, I tried to do the right thing and dropped five full loads to the Hennepin County recycling center to dispose of the stuff for free, or $15 an appliance, and a bunch of glass, paper and plastic to the free Minnetonka city bins. Freeway Transfer does not take chemicals anyway. Even though they have a scrap metal bin, I still took what I could to the county. I still wound up take a lot of metal to Freeway Transfer. Yes, I could have sold a lot to a metal processing place like the one in St Louis Park for a few dollars, but it is just so easy to do it all in one place like Freeway Transfer.

For everything else, which was three full loads in my Buick Enclave, I paid $50 for one and $40 for two. The $50 was mostly carpet and padding. The other two loads were a ton of scrap wood, ruined furniture I had dismantled, dirty metal, flooring, all kinds of stuff I had stored away in my second two-car garage over 16 years.

You just drive up to their scale, and in my case open the windows so they can see inside, pay in cash, and proceed. On weekdays a worker helps unload. One weekends there is less staff and you are on your own.

Beware backing up onto nails. Even though they have a front end sweeper machine to clear the area, I noticed nails everywhere. I saw some people do not back up all the way in. I found a clear path in and backed in as far as I could.

As a kid, I loved going to the landfill with my dad and watching the giant machines pulverize the garbage and debris, Two times I was there during the work week, the front loaders were going at it. Then there is a giant hole in the center that I assume is some kind of thrashing machine. I would love to see that in operation, but I doubt they run that with the public there in case there is flying debris.

Staff at the scale and on the ground are super friendly.

A very cool place to visit. And my hoarding days are over. Five stars all around.
