Lodging on the South Coast can be challenging as it's often overpriced and/or of questionable quality; this place was neither.
Here you'll find recently renovated, clean rooms on a charming, quiet, and beautifully maintained waterfront property. Derek, the owner, was extremely accommodating allowing us to check in after hours following a late flight. The location was perfect for my partner and me to visit family in adjacent towns. The motel is also walking distance from some awesome fried seafood at Kool Kone. Would definitely stay again!
My husband and I stayed at the Briarwood Motel in Wareham MA and we cannot wait to come back for another trip! The property is absolutely beautiful and the motel has been renovated to replicate a boutique hotel and it is so clean and quaint and overall just a beautiful little property. Steph and Derek have done an amazing job with the place!! You will not regret staying here! Cant wait to come back :)
Stayed here for the weekend and we had a great time. The owners are super nice, the view of the water is beautiful, and the room was perfect. We stayed here with our little dog and got a chance to take him down to the water. We will definitely stay here if we get a chance to visit again!
We stayed at this tiny riverside respite during our visit to the Cape for the Hydrangea Festival. We couldn't have been more pleased! The room was tiny, with a full sized bed, microwave, Keurig, and mini fridge, but it had everything we needed. But fear not! If you need anything, Stephanie is a few steps away to come to your rescue (like when you have forgotten a corkscrew...the horror!) The linens were lovely and everything was meticulously clean.
Of note: did I mention tiny? The motel is a perfect and affordable spot to rest your head if, like us, you are always on the go and seeing the sites. There was no seating, but it didn't matter because there is a nice bench on the porch, and you can walk down to the riverside where there are comfy lounge chairs. I took my coffee here each morning!
The property has lovely landscaping and we saw chipmunks, hummingbirds, and even a Great Blue Heron!

This vintage motel is very nicely cared for and the folks that run it are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet and the grounds are in great shape, creating a relaxing space to take in the water views and watch the sunset. I will definitely be back and recommend it to friends and family.
This place is beautiful, and a very comfortable place to stay. The family that operates the motel was so friendly and accommodating, they treated us like family. Being dog friendly is a huge bonus! We launched our kayaks right from the beach to explore the river and the fishing is great. Great location close to everything, but away from the craziness and traffic. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops with in a few minutes drive.
Absolutely fantastic stay. Can not say enough enough about the incredible ambiance and location! My partner and I were blown away with how the Briarwood blends classic New England charm perfectly with a modern feel. I cannot say enough great things and would highly recommend!

I’ve had an amazing experience at Briarwood. This hidden gem was a nice reprieve from the city. The owner is super hospitable, personable and communicative. the cottage like rooms themselves are perfect for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The view and environment is one of a kind, honestly its serene and more than you could ask for in such an affordable “motel”
I stayed for a couple nights while in town for work; the level of engagement and service from Derek was exemplary, he really cared about the quality of my stay. The location right on the ocean is gorgeous, and I am looking forward to staying again in the warmer months when the outdoor space can be better utilized.
If I could give this Motel more than five stars I would. Especially when it comes to location. Literally surrounded by Beauty. The owners take very good care of the property, rooms, Landscaping, and the grassy areas. There are nice lawn chairs, rocking and end tables on the waterfront. It is a Serene place to watch the tides go in and watch the tides go out. And if you need a jog or a walk there are beautiful trails along the water.
The rooms are newly renovated. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Yes a little on the small side but that didn't bother me at all. The room has a good size TV on the wall, a microwave, and a small refrigerator.
And if the water isn't for you they have nice benches in between the rooms where you can sit and relax outside.
I highly recommend this Motel and if I were to be in the area again I would stay there again.

Great place to stay in a very scenic and convenient spot on Route 6, which puts everything from Newport to The Cape a quick and easy drive. Clean and comfortable rooms and very friendly staff and owner. Also a short walk to an epic and historic ice cream and seafood shack. Highly recommended!
I was looking for a boutique motel and came across this hidden gem in Wareham. I stayed 2 nights and found the room to be comfortable and clean. The host was very kind and accommodating. I will be back for sure.

I stayed here for my friend’s wedding that was held nearby and the Briarwood was perfect. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and there is a beautiful front lawn that overlooks the Weweantic River. Would stay here again!
Quick stay, rooms are bright and cheery and very clean. Staff was accommodating and very friendly. Amazing view and location! Reasonable rates as well.
The Briarwood Beach Motel is a fabulous, little, seven room motel situated on a cute beach in Wareham, MA. While the rooms are small, they are the perfect size for an individual/couple looking to spend a few days to a week in the area adventuring.
Derek (the owner) and his family are very sweet and accommodating. The room was clean and included a small refrigerator, a Keurig and accoutrements for coffee, and plenty of small-medium drawer space. A restaurant and an ice cream/mini golf space are a five minute walk if you don’t want to drive. The beach is clean and welcoming, and had it been sunny and warmer for my stay I would have taken advantage of a swim!
Cute and cozy, comfortable and quiet, with an open and spacious property that abuts the Weweantic River, which makes for a beautiful and welcome view when you walk out the door in the morning.
Access to the motel is easy with no hassle parking, and it's only minutes away from restaurants and shopping centers
I'm definitely looking forward to another stay.

Awesome place to stay! Amazing views and Location! Room was always clean, comfortable bed and everything in the room was up to date and new. Owner was very friendly and helpful, any assistance that was needed I was accommodated and taken care of. Most of the guests were quiet and polite as well. Definitely one of the nicest places in the area.
What a sweet place! Located on a beautiful space of land right on the river, it has super easy access and has great restaurants close by!

I recently stayed at the Briarwood Beach Motel and had a great experience! The room was clean, the location was great, and the room was absolutely adorable. What really made my experience exceptional was the owners genuine care & hospitality - he was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and also took the time to provide me with some great local recommendations!! I will definitely be coming back to stay here the next time I’m in the area!
I loved staying at the Briarwood Beach Motel.
The mattress was so great I slept like a baby. The renovated room was extremely comfortable. The owner was wonderful and took the time to talk to us and tell us of his future plans for the motel. The next time I’m in town, I will definitely be staying here.
We had a great stay at this hidden gem. The icing on the cake is the wonderful view of the water. The rooms have been completely refurbished and the service was exceptional!
I stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and it is a perfect place if you don't mind simple and small space. It's a room with a bathroom along with a mini fridge, desk, tv, and air conditioning which was essential in the summer heat. It's a quiet spot on the water with plenty of privacy. The owner keeps the rooms very clean and tidies up. For the price and simplicity, it is well worth a stay.
Sweet, simple room. If you are looking for fancy, this isn't it. However, if you want a pretty view, a comfy bed, and don't mind a small bathroom, this is your place. Fridge and microwave in the room; nice tv; quiet location; clean room; privacy; and friendly owner. A dresser vs a desk would be nice, and newer rugs and bedspread would also be great. But, overall a very nice place for the cost and location.
